Fanfic Ideas I'll Never Get Around To #49:
"Are you excited for your birthday?" Akira asked. He expected a scathing retort about the idiocy of birthdays and sentiment, but to his surprise, Akechi smiled.
"I'm quite excited, yes."
"Really?"
"Why wouldn't I be? I enjoy birthday traditions. I get to set candles on fire just to snuff out their miserable lives a moment later."
"Blowing out the candles, you mean?"
"Semantics. Then I get to stab a cake."
"Cut the cake."
"Same difference. After that I demand tribute from my inferiors."
"Get presents from your friends."
"And finally, I get to shoot someone."
"You shoot a picture of them."
"No, I meant that one literally. I'm going to kill the most annoying party guest."
"That's not a birthday tradition, that's just murder."
Akechi sighed.
"If you're going to be like that about it, I guess I'm not excited after all."
