I wanted one thing, in the end, just one.

I wanted them to talk

Talk about their feelings, for them to apologise properly to each other and finally hear each other out. For them to say they love each other, you know they didn’t even say that right? God said it, aziraphale said it in different words, but not to Crowley, he said it to god and Crowley didn’t even react.

I ultimately did not care what the ending would be, I did not need them to kiss, I did not need them to fit every little thing in it. Hell I didn’t even need them to get an objectively happy ending.

I just wanted them to talk, with no interruptions, no rush, just the angel and the demon, together, talking.

I feel like that’s not too much to ask

The destruction of the entire universe and every soul in it is a truly depressing ending. Just because God replaced it with another universe that looked similar doesn't change anything - this is Job and his children all over again. Job doesn't want new children, and neither do I.

I would like to add it everything I’ve said and clarify that I do think the human versions are so incredibly adorable, and I love them. I love their story and their romance and their happy ending. But they aren’t Crowley and Aziraphale.

Crowley and aziraphale’s whole characters are built around their relationships with heaven and god. Taking that away they are not who they were. This is why I think the human versions of them are just some random humans wearing their faces. And why I truely believe they just died in the bookshop.

Without heaven and god and the conflicts both physically and emotionally between them, Crowley and Aziraphale cannot be, they just can’t I’m sorry.
