If you are feeling difficult to decide that which operating system you want to run on your Mac Book? In the very newest that Mac allows you to boot up from Windows or Mac OS X using the containing Boot Camp disk partition software. Then double click on the refit. mpkg and then follow the installation guidelines.
Now open the terminal for that first open the Application and then go to the utilities and then terminal. In that type this code. sudo /efi/refit/enable-always.sh.
Now click on the return option.
In last quit the terminal
Gparted software: – First download it from the source forge download page. For that
Click on the gparted –live- 0.4.2- 2is
After that store the image to the desktop
Now burn the image to the CD using the Disk utility
Then insert the blank CD in the ROM
Choose the .iso file and burn.
Now label the CD when it gets finished.
Ubuntu Linux Operating System for free.
Gain the latest version from the Ubuntu website.
Then store the image on the desktop
Then Burn the image on the CD.
Make the partition of the Hard drive with the Terminal
Now you are going the make the partition of your hard drive into three spate partitions by using the terminal command window:
Step 1: - First of all open the terminal by going to the Application and then utilities from that choose the terminal.
Step 2: - In the terminal type the: – diskutil list
Step 3: - Now click on the return and the list of your partition should be displayed. Now if you have the Mac Os X installed in your computer then you have the one partition right now. However this list will also inform you that how much drive space you have to partition.
Step 4: - Now syntax for your code will be something look like this.
diskutil resize Volume disk0s2 80G JHFS+ Linux 72.5G JHFS+ XP 80G
Do not worry about the file systems right now, as we will format them individually later
Step 5: - Now the partitioning will take few minutes. It will appear like o%…….. line for awhile, but it doesn’t mean that it frozen. So wait for a few minutes and it will complete the partitioning.
Step 6: - So then Quit the terminal. Firm the windows partition with the Gparted
As the windows XP setup would not recognize the JHFS+ partition, then you have to sue the Gparted to convert the file system to the Unformatted.
Step 1: - First insert your Gparted CD and reboot it.
Step 2: - When the computer get start, then hold the C key to boot from the CD.
Step 3: - Now follow the instructions to load the Gparted.
Step 4: - As you follow all the instructions and then also Gparted has not begin when desktops load. Then you have to click on the Gparted icon.
Step 5: - Be sure that the drive at the top right side corner is arrange at /dev/sda0 or /dev/sda.
Step 6: - Now choose the windows or XP and then erase it.
Step 7: - You have to now choose the new unallocated place, and there make a new partition.
Step 8: - Check that the type is arrange as the Unformatted. So you have to leave the 128 MB to be free.
Step 9: - Then you have to follow the instructions as prompt and complete the partitions.
Step 10: - As the process get complete then shut down your computer, by holding the power button till then again power starts.
Step 11: - Now reboot your computer.
Step 12: - As soon as the computer get started you have to hold the Mouse button so that you can reject the Gparted CD.
Step 13: - As you gain the refit menu, in that choose the Start Partitioning Tool and then click on the Return.
Step 14: - It the refit asks you to that you would like to edit the MBR then in reply you have to enter the “Y”
Step 15: - Get out from the Partitioning Tool. Prepare the Windows XP Pro
So it is the time to install the Windows now, the third best operating system will be soon on your computer.
Step 1: - You have to shut down the computer from the refit menu.
Step 2: - Now insert the Windows CD on reboot and then hold the C key after the computer displays to boot from the CD>
Step 3: - You have to now follow Windows XP on screen instructions.
Step 4: - As you see the partitioning menu, in that choose the bottom partition. It should be labeled as the C: /. it will be easy for you to identify the partition from its size and name.
Step 5: - Now follow the Windows XP installation instructions.
Step 6: - As soon as the windows XP installs, you computer will again take you back to the refit menu.
Step 7: - There you have to open the Windows XP and complete the setup. And if your computer crashes and get shut down and retry. Then it still crashes, so you have to hold option on the reboot and choose the Windows to boot from there.
Step 8: - As the Windows is arrange, shut down your computer. Also prepare the Ubuntu
Step1: - First insert your Ubuntu 8.1 CD as you to reboot and then hold the C key to boot from CD.
Step 2: - Now you have to follow the on screen instructions to install it.
Step 3: - As it ask you to choose the partition then in that you have to select the partition 3.
Step 4: - Make confirm to format the partition in the EXT 3.
Step 5: - Complete the Ubuntu Installation.
So you have install the three operating successfully, then you have to now configure the all the drivers. in that you must install the Mac book driver son the Windows and in Ubuntu in order to for all your hardware to work properly.
