open starter: katherine pierce | pov: you step into a small-town diner right before closing time.
The waitress was already stacking chairs, the neon âopenâ sign flickering weakly against the rain outside. In the corner booth, Katherine sat alone, stirring a cup of untouched coffee as though sheâd been waiting far too long. Her gaze rose, steady and deliberate, locking on whoever crossed the threshold. âFinally. I was beginning to think youâd never show.â
"You know I heard you the first time you said my name but then you got so annoying I put you on mute" Chris Deadpanned as he sat next to Katherine "so..what's so urgent you couldn't wait until I memorized a spell I needed to do?"
Katherine let a crooked smile curl on her lips, leaning forward with her elbows resting on the table, as if every second she had waited had been part of a game only she understood.
âPutting me on mute? Bold of you, Chris. But trust me, if I wanted to, I wouldâve made your little life a lot more⊠quiet.â
She lifted the cup to her lips, even though the coffee had long gone cold, just to draw out the tension. Her gaze never wavered from his, sharp and assessing.
âAs for urgency⊠letâs just say itâs something youâll want to hear before you decide whether youâd rather stick to your spell or to survival. But of course, if youâd rather keep playing hard to getâŠâ she arched a brow, a mischievous glint in her eyes ââŠI can always find someone a bit more cooperative.â
"cooperative or more easy to manipulate like that Bennett Witch that poisoned the moonstone before giving it to you because you kept a secret from her?" he replied before licking his lips in discreet fashion
âOuch. Throwing my past in my face? Really? Who put you in a mood?â She arched a brow, lips curving into that sly, knowing smile. âIf this is your version of foreplay, you might want to work on your technique.â
She leaned forward then, tone softening just enough to draw him back in. âBut letâs not pretend you showed up here just to trade insults. I wouldnât waste my time if this wasnât bigger than either of us. I need your help with the spell, and whether you like it or not⊠you need me too.â
"who did it is not important at least not to /you/" he huffs before continuing "so...let's go back to business because I'm only here because well...the elusive Katherine Pierce can only survive without backup until one point so...what made you call me almost ten times on a roll?"
âChris, sweetie, you know when I want someoneâs attention, I donât stop until I get it.â She leaned back, swirling the coffee with a lazy grin, eyes glittering with amusement. âDonât act so surprised, you know better than anyone that I donât ask for help unless itâs⊠critical.â
Her tone softened, a dangerous kind of sweetness slipping in. âThereâs something coming. Bigger than me, bigger than you. And unless youâre secretly craving a front row seat to watch me burn, youâre going to hear me out.â
She tilted her head then, eyes narrowing with playful curiosity. âBut really, who managed to ruffle your feathers like that? Iâd almost be jealous if I thought someone else could get under your skin the way I do.â Her smirk lingered, every word dripping with mischief. âCome on, tell me⊠or Iâll just assume it was me, and you know how much I love that idea.â

open starter: gabrielle middleton | pov: youâre walking down the empty clinic hallway when a muffled sob echoes somewhere nearby.
The blinds allowed only a narrow beam of light to stripe the carpet. Brielle twirled her pen between her fingers until the unexpected sound froze her movements. The offices were empty, yet the echo was far too real to dismiss. âI donât usually take patients without a file.â
open starter: katherine pierce (19th century) | pov: you enter a candlelit ballroom just as the music stops.
The string quartet fell silent, leaving the grand hall eerily still. In the center, Katherine stood with her hand still resting on the stem of her wine glass, her dark eyes flicking toward the newcomers. The faintest smile curved her lips, sharp as glass. âStrange⊠the night only gets interesting once the music dies.â

getting back to business with my main muse <3
hello there
So apparently I'm back bc we finally got to buy a decent laptop. Also, happy new year, everyone!
Since Iâm a little tachycardic today due to anxiety, imma head to bed and work on my drafts later.
See ya!

plot idea:Â i was just trying to have a one night stand with a stranger at the club/bar so i lied about my name and entire life when we met. but after we hooked up i kept thinking about you, so we ended up hooking up again another night and i kept lying. and it keeps happening and now iâm in too deep to tell you the truth so iâm just living this fake life whenever i see you but i really like you
golden
thegapbetweenmomentsâ:
He had her now. Vincent may not have been able to tell what it was that she was up to here, but he could tell that there was some effort being made to seem normal, for lack of a better term. Every desire she let slip felt to him like another thread to follow back to the source, and he had found the right combination of factors to keep her where he wanted for this exact moment. He was enchanted by her, that much was certain, but in his own little world that meant that he needed to unravel her and know her. He wanted her secrets and her desires, and the more he danced and prodded for information, the more alluring it all became.
âWhat I am suggesting is simple,â Vincent smiled, leaning in a bit closer to speak a bit more freely without drawing the attention of anyone nearby. âI imagine that you and I both wish to maintain the impression with the other guests that our actions are those of normal, upstanding individuals of noble birth. If it were known that I were courting you, we could arrive in any room of any party we so chose, avoid wasting our time with boring chatter, and go about whatever activities we felt were appropriate for those occasions, all without arousing suspicion.â
He gently took her hand, hoping that this slightly bold move would go unpunished as they stepped further from the ballroom itself. He felt as though now was the perfect moment to play his final card. âAfter all, I suspect that what you were sipping earlier was not wine, and I believe that in time you will find that I am the sort who can look the other way, provided that you might be willing to play my game for a bit.â
She hated him for a moment. Especially when she saw in his eyes that he was feeling victorious over her morbid curiosity, to the point of jeopardizing her recently acquired, safe new life. Katherineâs eyebrows rose, but before he could think his words were offensive to her, she merely gave it a giggle. Oh, how long since she had some fun, for a change? Maybe he could be useful, after all, more than what she thought.
Forgetting how to keep breathing for a second, Katherine felt like the entire room went silent. The smile faded from the pinkish lips as her eyes focused on his, trying to capture a veiled threat. If he didnât fall for her carefully disposed traps, she found herself stuck in one of his.Â
It felt so desperate to be in disadvantage, to not have the key to dictate the rules. Katherine would be breaking out in a cold sweat if capable of that much.
How much did he know? How far along would she have to go to keep it under the rug?
Her chest went up and down when she remembered to keep breathing, as needless as air could be for her. âOh, but Mr. Allard.â The tip of her rosy tongue crossed her lips right before a smile spread to her face again. âYou certainly should be aware of the fact that I... love a good game.â White scleras turned a bright red, for only half a second, not enough for mortal eyes to notice it without having to blink and check again. âBut I am afraid I am not a good loser.â
âWhat do you want?â
