Before you knew it had already been a week in the dorm. A couple of days ago Yugyeom and BamBam went on vacation together in Thailand. Leaving you, Mark, Jackson, Jinyoung, and Jaebum in the house (and Youngjae whenever heād stop by from his hyungās apartment). You had actually spent a lot of time with Youngjae since he introduced you to some people the same age as (and you love his dog Coco). You and Jackson went for dinner with Jinyoung a few times and it was becoming pretty natural to call him Oppa since he was being so nice to you all the time. To you, it seemed the attraction you felt with Jaebum had disappeared on his part. You sighed at the thought unsure if it was due to disappointment or relief. You had exchanged fleeting sentiments and small nods at each other but it seemed like he just saw you as another person in the house.
āHey ____-ahā Jackson slinked his arm around you and pulled you close to him. āHi Oppaā You smiled at him but his face was filled with a sad seriousness. āWhatās wrong?ā āI know I said I would be free this whole month but there are a couple of big tv shows in Hong Kong that want me to visitā¦and the company really want me to go. But I wanted to ask you first.ā Ā You felt your heart wrench a little, but there was a desperation in Jacksonās eyes. You knew that look, it was fueled by his desire to succeed. āOf course you can go. No, you HAVE to go. I wonāt let you stay here just because of meā āI donāt deserve a sister like you.ā You smiled through the subtle hurt as Jackson wrapped both arms around you in a tight squeeze. āWhen do you leave?ā You muffled into his arms. āTonight. They had the tickets booked already. Just needed youāre approval or I wasnāt going anywhere.ā āSo soon?ā He looked apologetic and nodded.
Jackson informed the others this morning after talking to his sister this morning. He assembled everyone in his room, āHey guys Iām going to Hong Kong probably for the rest of the month. So take care of my sister okay?ā Mark shot Jaebum and Jinyoung stern glances. āIāll know if you donāt anyway. Hopefully, Iāll be back to help her move into her new apartment.ā Youngjae shifted uncomfortably as he noticed Jaebum and Jinyoungās knowing expressions āDonāt worry about it seun-ah, we will make sure sheās comfortable.ā Jinyoung said resting his hand Jacksonās back. āI know you will. Thank you.ā Jackson said giving Jinyoung a warm glance. āHey, you behave around her. Sheās a gentle young woman.ā Jackson said jokingly chiding Jaebum as he left. A grin appearing on Jinyoungās face. The boys filed out of the room, she was sitting on the couch watching as they spilled into the living room. āHaving a secret meeting without me?ā She said laughing, the way her smile slowly tugged at both corners could drive anyone crazy. āNo just telling them to be perfect gentlemen when Iām gone. Come ______-ah, I have to take you out tonight before I leaveā Jackson said as he grabbed his sister by the wrist pulling her to the door. She waved goodbye as Jackson ushered her to put on shoes, and soon they were both out the door. The boys split off into their individual rooms, and Youngjae followed after Mark.
āGod Dammitā Mark said running his hand through his hair and putting his palms to his temples. He and Youngjae were sitting in his room. āWe wonāt be able to stop them now hyung.ā Youngjae said worriedly āI mean I could try to get her to spend time with my friendsā¦ā Mark cut him off finishing the sentiment āWith Jackson gone those two will do everything to spend time with her. You know that.ā Youngjae looked down at his feet not saying a word.
āFuck.ā Jaebum said as he collapsed onto his bed and stared up at his ceiling. Well game on. Jaebum thought to himself half smirking. He thought about the ways he could show to _____ that he likes her. He knew that the last week he had been distant but how could he get close. She was always with Youngjae or Jackson. Jinyoung had the unfair advantage of being Jacksonās age and tagging along, but nowā¦ wait. Youngjae. Jaebum knew that making sure Youngjae didnāt take more of her time was part of the key. But how?
āFuck.ā Jinyoung muttered to himself as he closed the door of his room. Jaebum hyung has a better chance than ever. He thought as he paced around. With Jackson gone Jinyoung had no way of hanging out with _______ casually. āUnlessā¦ā Jinyoung thought to himself who is the person she spent the most time with other than Jacksonā¦Youngjae. He sat on the edge of his bed and held his chin in his hands. Is he an asset or a liability?
āYou know that Iām sorry right?ā Jackson said looking at you. āHow could I not know, Ā youāve said it like 5 times since weāve sat downā You half laughed picking at what was left on your dinner plate. Ā You were sad that your brother wouldnāt get to spend as much time together in this first month, but Korea was your home now too, and there would be plenty of time to hang out in the future. āJackson-ahā One of the GOT7 managers tapped him on the shoulder. āWe should leave, donāt want to be late for your flightā The manager looked at you apologetically and you gave an understanding look back. āHow will _____-ah get home?ā The manager rubbed his forehead, indicating clearly he never thought of the fact you needed to get back at the dorm. ālet me make a callā The manager picked up his phone and you watched as he shook the phone I frustration trying to use a whispered yell to speak to the other line. He eventually hung up and sighed looking at Jackson āThe other manager has been out drinking with his friends. Canāt your sister take a taxi, weāre going to be lateā Jackso glared āNo. I need to know she is with someone I trust. We need to drive her back or I-ā āokay, okayā The manager raising his hands to tell Jackson to calm down āA while ago we gave Jinyoung a key to the other managerās van. Iāll text him to pick you up.ā The manager said looking back at you. āWait, wait you gave him a key! But you said that we werenāt allowed to-ā Jacksonās was whining cut off by the manager's frustrated sigh āHeās only to use it in special circumstances, which this would be.
Jinyoung had been reading for the last couple hours, trying to relax after Jacksonās announcement this afternoon but he couldnāt concentrate. My plan to involve Youngjae could backfire, but at the same time- His phone began to ring as he plotted, why is the manager calling me? āHello hyungā The managerās voice was full of hurry. āJinyoung-ah I need you to use the key to the other managerās van so you can come here and pick up ______-ah. I donāt have time Jackson is going to be late for the flight.ā A smile crept onto Jinyoungās face like wildfire setting the forest aflame. āIām on my way.ā āGreat Iāll text you the addressā The call ended and Jinyoung grabbed his wallet, jacket, and shoes with military efficiency. He made a beeline for the door not noticing Mark and Youngjaeās stare as he walked with quickened steps through the dorm. He barely could register them calling out asking where he was going. He punched the code into the small vault the managerās had in the dorm grabbing the keys to the van. āWhere you going?ā Jaebum blocked Jinyoung as he left the corner where the vault was and headed for the front door. āIām really in a rush hyung. My friends are waiting for me.ā Jaebum rolled his eyes and was about to step out of the way when he noticed the key ring hanging from Jinyoungās finger. āAnd whatās that?ā He said raising his eyebrow āMy friend left it here.ā Jinyoung ran out the door, getting into the van as quickly as possible. Iām on my way _____-ah. He thought happily.
The dorm was filled with general confusion. āWhatās up with him?ā Jaebum asked Mark and Youngjae who were playing video games. Both gave unknowing shrugs and Jaebum shifted his attention to the view outside the window. His attention was grabbed as he watched the manager van screech out of the lot and speed into the dark. Was thatā¦? That mother fuc-
āSorry if I took too long.ā Jinyoung said smiling as he meets you on the corner of the street. You shouldāve waited inside youāll get cold. āNo oppa, you didnāt but almost though,ā you said laughing āHey itās also June it doesnāt get that coldā You say hitting his arm lightly. āHey, if you get sick Jackson will kill us all.ā He said extending a cardigan out to you. You took it, pretty thankful since the sun has set long ago and a breeze was starting to settle in. Ā āI was thinking about having ice cream when I was in the dorm so I hope you donāt mind if we stop for some before we go back,ā Jinyoung said holding your purse as you put your arms through the cardiganās sleeves. āYeah I donāt mind, thank you for picking me up by the wayā āAnytime,ā He said as he ruffled your hair. You were so comfortable around Jinyoung and you knew that he would make it easier even though Jackson left.
You walked into the ice cream store which wasnāt very far from where Jinyoung parked the van. āWhat did you want?ā Jinyoung said still staring at the menu āOh, I shouldnāt I just ate so much and I feel bad you already picked me up-ā āOkay then you treat meā He said lightly bumping you with his shoulder. You smiled because you actually liked that idea a lot. āOkay! then Iāll get strawberry shaved ice.ā āJust make it a large and we can share,ā Jinyoung said as he went to get a table. The two of you ate dessert for almost 2 hours, you could tell Jinyoung was trying hard to make sure you didnāt think about your brother leaving for the next few weeks. He was doing a great job actually, and you were having one of the best nights since you came to Korea. āWe should go. Itās getting late.ā He slinked his arm around you and though it didnāt feel awkward you could feel the blush rising in your cheeks. All you could manage was to nod your head and smile back at him, his face closer to yours than it had ever been.
āHe cheated! He lied!ā Jaebum said hitting the wall with the palm of his hand, fuming with anger. āhyung calm downā Youngjae pleaded trying to get a hold of his wrists. āGet a grip. You donāt know the situation. Maybe he needed the van for something else.ā Mark said remaining as collected as he could. The next couple hours were spent with Mark and Youngjae getting Jaebum to come out of his jealous fury. āYoungjae you have to stay here. You canāt keep me alone with those two.ā Mark said, Youngjae nodded agreeance. āHe knows the rule. We donāt hang out alone unless she asks.ā Jaebum said lamenting from the couch āYah!ā Mark raised his voice for the first time for the night āYouāre the one who asked her to go grocery shopping and then made breakfast with her and wanted her to call you oppa. Actually, this whole thing was your idea. I donāt know why you canāt leave things aloneā Jaebum replied snarkily, āShe asked Jinyoung to cook first and he asked me to help her, which I donāt understand okayā¦I just capitalized.ā āDo you hear yourself? Sheās a person, not a toy.ā Mark stormed off angrily. āI know that. Itās hard to explainā Jaebum said as Mark walked away, not even loud enough for him to hear. He was mostly saying it to himself.
The keypad to the door unlocked and Jinyoung walked through the doorway with his arm around ______ās shoulders. āYou should get some rest.ā He said sending her off to Jacksonās room which just off-shooted down the hallway. She caught a glimpse of Youngjae and Jaebum in the living room and sleepily waved goodnight to them.
Jinyoung sat knowingly across from Jaebum. āOkay letās talkā Jaebum bubbled with anger but kept it inside because he knew she would be able to hear if he spoke too loud āwhy?ā Jinyoung smiled āBecause you owe me one, I said you could cook breakfast with her the other day. Not go on an excursion.ā Jinyoung sounded so matter of fact it confused Jaebum. Jinyoung continued āI canāt cook. I wasnāt lying when I told her that. I didnāt want her to see a flaw in me. I knew that sure I was giving you time with her, but my plan was to hang out in the kitchen and sabotage your cooking if Iām telling the truth. But you ended up going on this whole trip with herā¦so you owed me one.ā Jaebum and Youngjaeās mouths were agape at Jinyoungās devious and brilliant plan. Itās just too bad it didnāt work. āWeāre even now. So donāt take it too personally.ā Jinyoung said as he got up and walked to his room.
Over the last year I have been battling a lung tumor. And finally I can say that I have won that battle. Writing fanfic was an escape from the pain and loneliness of having a life threatening condition. It allowed me to escape and be in the world I wanted to be. But for awhile my tumor made my health worse to the point writing got hard for me. Now that I am tumor free I will try to write more. But know now that I will be living my best life. And hope to share that with all my fellow ahgases <3 saranghae -JJ
YOUR GIRL IS BACK FROM THE DEAD (KIND OF). SO I was dealing some health issues and was hospitalizedĀ for a few months but Iām back. I wonāt be able to write more fics for a few weeks. But Iāll be starting reactions and scenarios again soon. Thatās waitingĀ and I love you all.Ā
