Happy Valentine’s Day to my beautiful friends! I am so thankful this Valentine’s Day for my boyfriend @michaeljohncarr and his family and of course for my family!! I feel so much love from all of them 🥰 I am also very thankful for Monat as they are helping me be confident in my own skin. Devotional time doesn’t always have to be reading the Bible front to back and sitting perfectly still trying to listen for God’s voice. I had been doing it that way for a while, and some days that worked for me, but other days I felt totally unfulfilled. I had a meeting with my spiritual director and she said “it’s okay to change it up! There’s no rules. Just as long as it’s you and God alone; time set aside, dedicated to God.” I kicked myself! I should have known that. So I took a Christmas devotional book I got for my birthday and started reading the short blurbs and using the scripture verses there to practice lectio divina. That was amazing! I was finally feeling the presence of God again, as I focused more on one or two verses instead of rushing through 3 whole chapters of the Bible. Now that the Christmas season is over, I’m excited to try some Godly colouring for my Jesus time.
