🍁 Endless Autumn Coziness 🍁
Since the world is up in flames and there’s not much to look forward, streaming service Shudder has extended the Halloween season with 61 Days of Halloween. As you may know, I love the season and have the annual Shocktober Horror Movie Marathon every October so extending this to 61 days is the greatest idea ever, perfect for me!
They add things every week and lifestream a specific movie every night to watch along live. The watchlist is released every week so I’ll be keeping up with it in addition or in leu of my own horror marathon, we’ll see how much I can watch this season.
WEEK 1:
Bram Stokers Dracula
Drama, nonstop drama. The aesthetic and costume design make this movie so iconic, the story, not so much.
Squirm
This one was a dud, it was only gross worms that were not scary at all and acting wasn’t good either. Could’ve skipped this one
Color Out of Space
This was an interesting watch, a mix between The Thing, Kuso and Lifeforce. The photography on this was superb, color use and cool, weird body horror. Cage keeps honing in on his weird genre shit, love it.
The Room
The Nightshifter
Overall, this week was a descent start to get in the spoopy mood, we’ll see how the rest of the series goes. Also hope I’ll have time to watch some of the other titles they’ll be adding along the way.
Keep it creepy
“Forever”
The Wicked + The Divine Ascensions [1/?]: Persephone
“We meet again, Persephone
I’ve missed you”
Shocktober Movie Marathon VI: They Always Come Back
We’re baaaaaaack! We’re back ands with a vengeance! I’ve been trying to keep this running for the longest time and I watch every year but might not end up posting a lot. I will do my best to keep up w/ this weekly if not daily.
As its usual, I have redone the list to drop most of the rematches cos there’s a lot new I still haven’t seen and so little time. Its a great time to be a horror fan lately so follow along and hopefully you’ll be watching some on your own... If you dare...

Shocktober Movie Marathon V: Season of the Creeps
We’re baaaaaaack! We’re back ands with a vengeance! Last year the marathon went all sorts of hiatus (cos life happens sometimes) but it’s back, and revamped and out to take your soul!
I have revised the list once more taking out things that aren’t too interesting to me and adding more new flicks to see. As usual, most films I’ll be seeing for the first time and I’ve minimized my yearly musts to 5 cos otherwise I’ll just keep watching the same thing every year, so let the Season of the Creeps begin! A Year Ago Today
For the past few weeks I’ve been thinking about where I was last September at 27yo. How I was feeling at the time and the things leading up to me making the very important decision of breaking up with longtime partner last year. I’ve also been thinking about me right after the decision, my 28th birthday to now, a year later and almost 29. Since last September, there’s been 3 different versions of myself in one year. A lot has happened in a year that I hadn’t realized until I started looking at the past. I’ve grown and change a lot. I’ve come a long way from overthinking about my definite decision to break up, going back and forth about it for a long time to deep depression over it and other things in my life. Also tremendous loneliness, semi suicidal thoughts to crying all the time, taking everyone else’s pain/load on and suffering for others to unloading so much of the weight that doesn’t belong to me. Ive learned to deal with only my part and let people take care of theirs. Im learning to let things go and let them be how they have to be; what’s meant to be will be, and don’t overthink so much. Also learning how to identify my emotions, express my emotions and feelings as they are happening, unload and not keep anything in. I’ve gotten over the hump, closed cycles and started to enjoy life more, enjoy things as they happen in the moment, to be present in the things I do. The easiest part that I wrestled with for so long was doing the actual breakup, the aftermath of that decision was the real hardest part of the whole scenario.
I can’t say that I’m completely happy yet, but it’s getting easier to have and enjoy happy life moments, experiences and interests again. I now feel like I wanna talk about everything, shout about all my feelings and be heard, understood.
I still miss him. I miss all the good times, laughs, I miss my best friend. But at the same time, I needed to think about myself. For the longest time, I felt I was drowning deeper and deeper and everyone in my life saw it but no one reached out to help so I had to help myself. I know it’s not anyone’s responsibility to get me out of my struggle, I just wished I would’ve felt support a bit more. But I lived, Ive learned and will continue to move forward to what may come. I’m starting to feel like myself again more and more each day and that alone, gives me the strength I need to keep pushing on and this time, really go after my dreams. My dreams don’t seem as impossible anymore.
We meet again, Persephone Laura.
I’ve missed you.
