It’s hard for me to personally believe this was non-intentional, or even downright spite-fueled, since aside from the very first instance that made me personally uncomfortable with her, I had her blocked (and she admitted that she was aware of this to a third party). My text post that “inspired” her to make a design was untagged, used abbreviation so it wouldn’t have shown up in search, and was not reblogged, so she would have had to check my blog to see it. She created a new tumblr to follow my side blog and directly block evaded which honestly is what upset me the most, especially since i made it very clear that my side blog was me when I went back to it.
Even if this was simply carelessness or selfishness and she genuinely had no ill will, the audacity to block evade and “draw inspiration” from someone who clearly was uncomfortable with her doing so is callous at best and malicious at worst. I’m finding less and less reason to believe her apologies are sincere since they only appear after she’s been “caught” and follow a trend of being self-flagellating and pity-mongering lip service, attempts to weasel out of owning her actions. On top of that, she continues to behave in exactly the same way, over and over again, and apologies without a change in action are less than useless to the people she’s used.
If anyone was wondering why I no longer post in the tag and barely use this blog at all anymore, this is why. A lot of my ocs (including nex) are very, very important to me, and I don’t feel comfortable posting about them even in the most superficial ways due to all this mess. No matter what the intent was, even in the best case scenario of simply being too self-absorbed, the fact of the matter is she made multiple artists and content creators feel unsafe about posting their content publicly, and in a community as small as the neotag that can really make you reevaluate your desire to create content at all.
