I love love love fics in other mediums like letters or chats or in this case weekly newspaper columns. MG and WW being cuties writing to each other everyweek and looking forward to replies. cute cute cute.

Also when Wonwoo finds out Mingyu is younger than him and calls him hyung I felt that. Don't you love it when fics makes you giggle to yourself like a madman? I do. Anyway.

Jeon Wonwoo is one of Korea's youngest up and coming men's sabreists and the Olympic season is approaching. Just about to turn 18, in his first competition on the senior circuit, he stages one of the most historic upsets of the 21st century against current world ranked #1, South Korea's fencing golden boy and enigma, Kim Mingyu.

I personally did not read the tags too closely which is on me and yet this was a great fic (kinda blindsided me a bit tbh). It was very immersive in the sense that it got down to the nitty gritty of being part of not only the national fencing team, but also with regards to the Olympics itself.

But the fic was so moody in a sense that as a reader you are heavily influenced by Wonwoo's mood which I think was AMAZING. What a great read! Op nailed it on the realism and making it so intriguing.

He’s charming, good looking, popular on campus - anyone would jump at the chance to be his date for the event. But winning over Wonwoo proves to be no simple task and, as their relationship grows, Mingyu discovers he may end up losing more than he'll win.

I've probably read too many of these fake dating or bet dating fic in my lifetime but every once and awhile you find one that just is so damn fun, so damn fluffy and angsty that it's just all worth it. The tropes are troping and it's just so sweet. Its good and i spent my saturday, laughing and kicking my feet over it.

Too many hook ups, two strangers, and one accidental pregnancy. Junhui couldn't have predicted this one. “Are you sure you’re okay?” Minghao asks. “You’re not sick or anything?” “Are you asking if I’m pregnant?” “I might be asking if you’re pregnant.”

I just think that the way Jun approached this accidental pregnancy in this fic altered my brain chemistry. Like boy was losing it but also not really, yknow, bc Hao is there and well. It's just wonderfully written.

Draco Malfoy has been missing for three years. Harry is assigned the cold case and finds himself slowly falling in love with the memories he collects.

One of, if not, the most famous drarry fic out there with so many raving reviews. But it is as good as everyone says. The pacing, the writing, the mystery, the drama; it is simply everything. It also breaks you out of book!Draco and the endless possibilities of this character.

I reread this a lot. One of the few first fics that started me on drarry and I've been sucked into it since.

Love Stuck by MiniInfinity

Despite never getting married or having been in a relationship, Wonwoo moves to the States and helps people write their wedding vows for a living. With everyone asking him when he will finally date someone, he takes a break and visits friends and family back at home. Out of all of his friends who offered to let him stay at their place, Wonwoo decides to stay with the only father among his friends, Mingyu, who Wonwoo helped write his wedding vows five years before his divorce.

Arguably this is a character study fic of Wonwoo as a parent and if yall know me, yall know I love me a character study fic. I don't think any other kid!fic hits like this one. The child isn't simply just an extension to the the ship and trope. She is the light of the story and also the conflict of the story. This fic is so good that it made me feel like writing again (it really helped that Wonwoo was a writer too in the fic).

Not your typical run of the mill Minwon fic but oh my god it's one of the best ones out there.

There is a sequel to this universe which is in my to read list.

“May I remind you that we are in the royal councilroom,” Wonwoo grits out. “Your behavior is highly inappropriate.” Mingyu dips into a mockingly exaggerated bow. “Apologies,” he says, looking up at Wonwoo through his eyelashes. “In the future, I’ll try to only flirt with you outside of this room.” (or: Wonwoo is the eldest son of a prestigious noble family, his life set out for him with exacting precision. Mingyu carries the weight of a disgraced name and the bitterness of being cast aside. Slowly, he makes Wonwoo question everything he thought he knew.)

I normally only prefer royalty au where an arranged marriage is somehow central to the plot. This does not have that but my oh my is it beautiful. The writing is impeccable, written in a way that immerses you in the historical aspect of it. Wonwoo and his struggles with his responsibility of a nobleman navigating an unstable political climate that challenges his capabilities is such an interesting perspective. It also helps that Mingyu is such a complex antagonist. Ah. It's just such a good read. And i haven't even started talking about the love story. It's just such a beautiful story. You will just have to read it to understand my ramblings.

A Mighty Stranger by dochkaya

The universe was kind. When a soul reached the age of twenty one, they would remain so until they were reunited with their soulmate, and had the means of staying together. And so, people were happy, and souls were made more content each time they reincarnated, and all was well. However, some, like a certain Kim Mingyu, took advantage of this kindness, and used the ability of reincarnation to extend their lives at the expense of their soulmate. But Jeon Wonwoo has had enough.

I must say this fic had me reeling when I finished reading it. It really immerses you into the premise of the story, the immortality, the soulmates, the dubious morality of the whole thing. It was intriguing and I applaud op for the details of the historical aspect of the story. The love between Mingyu and Wonwoo, through the decades was so heartbreaking and touching. I feel like there is nothing like this story out there.

This story was based off of this tumblr post about soulmates. A great prompt which birthed a lovely story.

This fic really introduced me to the Character Study type of fic. It’s First Person POV which I was apprehensive about at first but I quickly got over it. The writing is fantastic and although you think you begin with reformed Draco you only realize there is much much more to his character arc. It’s never a boring read and explores the intersection of muggle/magic world very well. When I think about how I wish I write, this is the fic that comes to mind.

I have reread this a few times despite the length and still adore it so.

Kim Mingyu was known on campus for his good looks and impossible sex drive. Everyone knew at least one person who had been fucked and fucked over by the man because when it came to sex, he let down the guise of the charming star of the college football team and revealed his true nature of a vain, selfish asshole chasing his own high. Still, many people fell for the thinly veiled scam, wanting to believe that they could be the one to change the infamous playboy into a sweet little lap dog. Kim Mingyu didn't feel remorse for his actions but an encounter with the archer of love would change his life forever.

For something sold as pwp, this fic truly surprised me. It's funny, it's sweet and has just a little angst. When I finished reading it I was a bit in awe of how much it affected me. Mingyu’s characterization is basically my fave part. His arc is the main plot of the story (but also the sex). It’s a take on the typical popular campus kid meets nerd but with very well written twists. I love it and will probably reread it at some point.
