You can’t start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one.
The only limits in life are the ones you make.
Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.
After learning more about Rome, I find it to be one of Italy’s most fascinating cities. I am intrigued by Rome’s ancient religions and its rich history. In ancient Rome, religion was a part of every-day life. Over time there has been changes in religious practices. At one point, Rome was polytheistic and was influenced by Greek Gods. Each God had their own purpose and value. Sacrifices and offerings to Gods was a common practice in ancient Rome and temples and shrines were also dedicated to them. Over time, Rome shifted from polytheistic religions to merging Judaism and Christianity. The city is also home to many ancient moments which leads many to believe that the city is frozen in time. Famous monuments include the Colosseum (where gladiators fought), the Roman Forum (which was once a center for religion, politics and economy) and the Bocca Della Verita (which depicts a River God and it was believed that liars who place there hand inside the cracked disk would lose their hand). I read Hom’s “Tourism & Rome”. What I found the most interesting about this article is that Rome was described as an eternal city. In 19 BC, Tibulus coined the term Urbs Aeterna because for him Rome would live on forever, despite the prediction that the city would fall. I find it astonishing that in the past Rome was focused on the future, whereas during the present day Rome is a major tourist attraction due to its past.
