Thinking about what one of my existing OCs would be like if he was in Fields of Mistria.... Pavlo is a scientist alien and he loves meeting new people! He would think the mines are really scary though so he couldn't help out much in town.

I finally finished drawing a full portrait set of Eury in the Fields of Mistria style!

This was a project I started for portfolio and challenging myself reasons but ended up speeding through because I had a lot of fun with it! It's a practice in drawing a different body type, foliage, and long, voluminous hair because I just remembered I had an OC who I could draw in the FoM style while practicing different hairstyles.

I've also been doing a lighter creative exercise by thinking of Eury as a character in the FoM universe, since I don't usually migrate or reuse fandom OCs in another fandom. I'm taking a bit of a break from cooking up more art and writing and the project wiki I'm building for Cheri too, and this was the perfect medium to do all that.

Mistria!Eury is still an epimelides like her original incarnation, except she's not a full-time rancher. She owns an orchard which was an attempt at both disguising and protecting the orange tree grove she spawned from, and since her orchard specializes in a specific set of crops and products (citrus-flavored orange wine), she spends her free time working as a farmhand in Sweetwater Farm.

To keep in line with her original story, here Eury is a very old family friend of Hayden's and grew up with his grandmother Greta; in the present day, he tries to pass her off as a distant cousin, to varying degrees of success. Her life is less lonely than in her SDV incarnation and she did not suffer the tragedy of Grandpa's unexpected passing while she was in hibernation so she's a lot less vengeful and angry, but don't be mistaken: she still packs a punch, literally and metaphorically.

I've also curated some gift tastes for her, and it may be the most aesthetic looking set I've ever come up with lol. Some explanation for this selection:

Oranges, Lemons, and simple foods you can cook from them (Orange Juice, Lemonade, Candied Lemon Peel, etc.) aren't there because... Eury has a lot of them on her orchard already. She can make such foods on her own. They're Neutral gifts at most.

She likes more complex products of these ingredients, like Cranberry Orange Scone and Lemon Pie/Cake, for the above reason.

The exception is Tea with Lemon, because it's a comfort drink regardless of situation and White Wine because she just likes wine.

Harvest Plate and Gold ranching products are Loved gifts because she views them as offerings or a tribute to the harvest season. This is why she likes only Golden Cheese/Butter/Mayo/Duck Mayo; if you're going to make an offering, make it a worthy offering.

Earth Infused-Stone to her FoM incarnation is what Solar Essence is to her SDV incarnation. She eats them (probably).

Vintage Cow Bell and Horse Statue is also a nod to her SDV incarnation as well, and the former especially to the fact that her concept started as an amalgam of some Harvest Moon concepts.

Marigolds are her favorite flower (aside from citrus blossoms, but we don't have those here), because aside from joy and warmth and resilience, they also represent grief and mourning.

Lobster Roll and Crab Cakes are both a reference to Elliott, whom she's paired with in SDV, and because she likes indulgent, creamy foods.

Speaking of indulgent foods, that's why a lot of the foods she likes are rich with milk, cheese, and/or eggs, and may have a creamy texture.

Her pastime in SDV is going to the tide pools in summer, so I gave her some seashell related things as her Liked gifts (the Blue Conch Shell is also a mermaid pendant reference). I think that's appropriate here given Sweetwater Farm faces the ocean.

Petrified Wood because to her, they represent things of nature returning to nature in death. That aside, I also wanted to include some other Artifact-type giftable.

Lastly, this is a bit of a silly trivia: I did nudge her portrait around so it sits better in the frame, but if we put some character portraits side by side and do an actual height comparison, Eury is actually about as tall as Caldarus (still shorter than Hayden, though).
