Nothing. Not a damn thing. I just am surprised still to see one of the toughest people I know let something like an injury fuck with them and make them hate something they were once so in love with. Strange to not be the brooding one anymore.
It’s not just some dumb injury, okay? It’s about how it affected my whole family. How dad and I both wasted all this time on something that doesn’t matter and missed out on mum while we still had her. Ugh, why am I even telling you any of this? It’s not like we’ve ever even been friends. And gross, does this mean you passed all the brooding off on me? Take it back, I don’t want it.

Could’ve fooled me. Just because you are going to work doesn’t mean it’s not a pity party. And bullshit, if there’s one thing I have learned it’s that people are more than just bodies.

You’re good at being stubborn and throwing yourself pity parties, but if that’s what you want.
A pity party? Are you kidding me? I get up and go to work everyday and do what I’m getting paid to do. It’s not as though I’m lying in bed watching old Quidditch footage and cursing the world. I’m just stating a fact. My mum’s not looking down on anything I’m doing, she’s just gone. That’s how the world works.

I guess I understand that. I didn’t have the love you did for the game, but after my mum died things were never the same again. I was never the same. That’s because you’re a passionate person and you don’t have something else to take the place of Quidditch. You need something to throw yourself into again. I spend my time now trying to make sure I make mum proud of me; everything I do now, I just want her to look down and be proud.
Well good for you, Malfoy, but I guess not all of us can just believe in something like that. People were right about me all along; all I was ever good at was Quidditch, and now that I don’t have it, I’m just another face in the crowd. Or a face in the Ludicrous Patents office; I think I’m going to tell my boss I’ll take that assignment, just for shits and giggles.

Twelve year old me wanted to destroy Lucy at everything and would throw fits because she scored the same or better than I did on tests. I still argue with her about that stuff and try to beat her. I know people change, but quidditch is such a part of you that it’s amazing you can think badly about it now.
It’s not a part of me if I can’t play it, Malfoy. And dad didn’t have any love for it anymore after mum died, either, so I had to find something new to do with my time. Or I’m still working on it, I guess. Somedays I feel like I don’t even really know where all my time goes.
And I don’t really care if nobody else believes,

Today, my boss tried to tell me that if I don’t start attending more Quidditch games as part of my ‘departmental service’, he’s going to put me on duty in the Ludicrous Patents office. Can you believe it? ME? In the Ludicrous Patents office? I don’t even know what people do in there.
