"it is not that I feel positively unattractive - I know better. But that somehow I am being kept from anything miraculous happening to me, ever."
i am sad i accept myself i get off the bus i go home
i want to go to the casino and be swindled to pounding music.
Why should I bother with made-up games when there are so many real ones going on?
I was addicted to writing kafka-esque stories. I would like to say that I started writing them before I started reading kafka, but that would not be true. I used to think that every story needed to have a kind of basic setup. after i read kafka is when i started writing stories where the conflict was beteween the individual and an all-ecompassing, suffused dread. i would like to say i felt moved to write these pieces before reading him, but that was/is not the case. If you feel constatnlyy doomed, what does it mean to feel really doomed? If you’re full of dread how to identify real and present dangers? I felt doomed and concerned about my story and about the vitality of my story and about its ability to survive in the world. And If i could transfer this feeling of doom, into a story…. Well the possibilities were intoxicating.
The squirrel, the squirrel preparing for winter, in central park right where the highway cuts in. I went to the park and I sat on a rock and I was in a footpath. The dead leaves were on the ground and I felt the lowest of low. I oculd not tlel you why. I could not tell you precisely why. I watched the squirrels and they were acting particulalry strange. And seeing them - about three- plotting and scurrying in three different patches - i felt entertained. It was the despair that one could only feel with the strength of midday. In the park the carriages, with their laminated price signs, and the park ‘regulars’ who spoke about different things, about scams, and about how people needed to “read a book.” I walked the mall some times in the park. To have a good time in the park was a nice thing and a sad thing, because when you left the park, you were no longer having a good time. I removed myself from the place i was at and i went ot the park and i got lost. I could not tell my way out. They still had ice skating at the park, although it was so warm. They played music at the rink, music which when it swelled over the kind of natural bowl shape of the land the rink was in, did somewhat cheapen the experience of being in the park. I swore i’d been to the park many times before, as a child, and as a tourist, and it had this heartbreaking inscrutabiliyt for me, this sense of the passage of time which hurt almost, i remember walking over the same swells of the park as a child and wondering where we were, accepting it, all unconsciously. I felt in pain to be in the park among the waxen leaves, and the bench dedications, and the busts. I felt alone in the park because no one would ever come up here with me. I felt grief in the park for the life I was living which no one understood and was always trying to talk me out of. I felt stupid in the park, just a dunce with no cap. I had to remind my self i did not do things for external validation or merit. I did them to do them… i swore i couldnt even think, i felt so crippled by the pain and by the intensity of my deprivation. I felt so crippled and diminutive and stunted by my life and mind, and felt like i was a plant growing itn the shade. In the park i imagined taking your kid here to play, and that kid growing up and having these dismal thoughts. I wondered if my pain was needless. I wondered if it was a sign
I read the Herr Von Hoffman story 2 Couples, unpublished, fragmentary, which reminded me of what I’m trying to get across in fiction efforts generally: however, the transference of beauty from the younggirl Anna to the deceased Therese, was precipitated by the epiphany - not of disinterest - but loss of love.
had a moment of shame of un-beauty, followed by life-force, defiance. “I would live if I would. I would live if I could,” Milly repeats to the Doctor in The Wings of the Dove, to treat her nonexistent illness. It is impossible to live- and here I almost wrote “progress in life,” just to illustrate how deep the problem goes- if you are thinking: “right now, I am abstaining,” “I am abstaining for the greater joy.”
Why not “I am not longer satisfied by this.” ?
Yes I’m un-grateful. I dreamed today of a new person, inspired by the neutral candor of Anna. Like water. I wanted that for myself. To be “With almost no memories at all.” I wanted to - like her - lay down to sleep like a young animal in an empty room. Possessions are associated with maturity, some directly equivalent to growth or milestone, like cars, and second homes and boats become “livelihoods” on their own. Youth associated w barren interior, minimalism from necessity. “I am doing this from a sense that supersedes boredom and annoyance, because I have intuition that there is something better, and I’m restless to get there - no, restless to approach,”
It's my 5 year anniversary on Tumblr 🥳

Liquid Supply Daily turned 5 today!
yesterday i woke up at 6:45, e-biked to brooklyn, ran, but it was so difficult, and i coughed, and went to the coop, had to steal becasue i was running late, izzy was talking about how wirting unofrtuantely led to identity formation as a writer but now she doesnt anymore, i worked and sold a membership to someone who bought it because i was a nice guy, and i saw GotG CH. 3, had FOS, trying to be more conscientious and ask questions socially in general, ate so much random food at work, had an alfonso mango from tessa that was shipped overnight from india, delicious almost citrusy,
preparing the log for the drinkers study is both interesting and humbling. i have to go back into my photos and texts. not for whimsy, but to figure out what i was doing. i really dont keep track of my consumption - of anything - except for like films, and books. i think i had around 20-25 drinks in march, and maybe 10-15 in april. in may i have been sober so far. by no means is this an excessive amint if you calculate 5 dollars per drink, which is conservative, thats around 250 on drinks in march alone.. pain... and i know its an undercount.
im plagued by this feeling that every single thing i write sounds and feels fake and performed and considered and pre-meditated, and like, self-reflexive. it sounds like not even true. it’s dishonest.
i was thinking about that millennial declining birth rates is an unconscious choice to be the “last one standing” as in: if you can’t be young forever, you might as well be theyoungest, contextually.

a customer yelled from just outside the warehouse that something in the hallway to the bathroom had scratched him, and thankfully, the new manager, the old manager, the hopeful manager, and the sales lead were all gathered in the entryway, having some sort of meeting, and they moved in unison toward the guy- almost like fighting to be the one to handle the situation. i would have laughed in his face
the funny thing about meetings at my job is that they happen everywhere, out in the open. Even when the corporate people come in- even when it’s somewhat sensitive topics. while i was working with erika, this lady from HR came over and started talking about erika’s “performance issues” just a few steps away from me
someone in a san diego padres hat is coming down
a new hire with full gray hair is heading down to the kitchen
i ate today: granola bar, breakfast burrito (frozen), apple, nuts, shin ramen, mango, latte, shepherd’s pie, vegan ranch salad, frzn chocoalte banana bites.
