My desktop wallpaper cycles between these two images so every 10 minutes I am overwhelmed by the loss of my horse or overcome by the fear of its return.

Just watched the KGVI&QE Stakes replay, really hoping Wurttemberg doesn't have a catastrophic injury or something. He suddenly dropped out hard at around 4 furlongs left to go and I'm worried.

Okay, turns out Wurttemberg is not injured, as far as I can find. There are videos of him finishing the race out there (100 lengths behind 8th place, but he did finish), and the vet didn't find anything after the race.

Apparently what happened is the jockey thought the pace was too fast for the horse to handle, so he had Wurttemberg bow out and walk his way to the finish to make sure nothing bad happened to the horse. Phew!

The people on the netkeiba bulletin board for Wurttemberg seem to be proud of him for showing up and finishing the race at all, which I'm inclined to agree with. I'm hoping the return trip goes well for him!
