A/N: Had this fun idea thanks to @dawnsarchive and so here we go with push ups and being underneath Zoro while he does said push ups because who wouldn't want to be?
Warnings: slightly suggestive, sexual activities mentioned, you both are horny for each other...? So, there you go, kissing. Use of good girl :)

It was a beautiful day on the sea, the sun was high, hardly any clouds in sight, and it was warm enough to be pleasant rather than scorching hot. That was part of the reason why you had decided to take a break from working inside and go outside to work on the intelligence reports you and Robin had gathered about a few marine outposts and tan while you did so.
You did love being a pirate.
However, you hadn't realized that Zoro wasn't in the training room nor was he in the crow's nest training. No, he had chosen the bow of the ship today as his spot. It was right where you liked to lounge too. You were thankful that you had brought your sunglasses to hide your gaze as you watched the green haired swordsman and first mate of the Straw Hat pirates train.
Roronoa Zoro was a masterpiece of a man and he had only gotten better after spending two years with Mihawk and now... Your eyes trailed the man's chest, his pecs were larger now and the scar on his chest had faded but it was there, part of you wanted to run your tongue along it and the rest of his chest.
Thankfully, your sunglasses hid your gaze as your tracked him instead of reading the reports and sipping the drink Sanji had made you before coming out here. How could you not watch him when he was right in front of you? The gods had to be testing you today and you weren't that strong when it came to ignoring the dirty thoughts of Zoro that flowed through your mind whenever you were in bed and couldn't sleep.
But, Zoro felt your gaze, you knew that he did, and he knew you knew he did. But you were still watching him and damn if it didn't make him work a bit harder, the sweat starting to form little beads on his skin. You bit your lip as you watched him continue his training regime.
Dodge, slash dodge, slash, side step, and repeat over and over again.
It was when he started to move onto the more physical aspect of his training that his biceps stole your attention from the intelligence reports you were definitely not reading.
No work was being finished on this day you were afraid.
"Tch. If you're going to stare, come here."
Your eyes widened at the sound of his voice and a blush rose to your cheeks as you pointed to yourself, looking around for one of your other crewmates who might be around. They were not.
"Me?"
"You're the only one here besides me."
He smirked at you but you didn't know how much he was showing off for you. He'd found, throughout the years he'd been gone that he had missed your company more than he'd wanted to admit, and that you were far more beautiful and tantalizing than he remembered.
His memories didn't do you any justice and in his head, some twisted part, he wanted you underneath him in his bed with his lips against your ear and his hand on your thigh as he whispered how good you were being...
But, right now wasn't the time for that fantasy to play out so he'd have you under him as he did his push ups.
He smirked as he watched you puff out your cheeks a bit, they were still a pretty rosy color and he wanted to see it keep happening because of him. Sure, the two of you had flirted, teased each other, but neither of you had admitted feelings or even broached the subject.
Would you after this? Who knew.
"I have work to do." You muttered and he raised a brow at you, arms crossing over his broad chest, and you didn't even realize it as you bit your lip while you stared at him, unable to ignore the heat that was pooling between your legs. What would it be like if he held you with his arms and if he pinned you down-
You were glad you were in a black bikini today.
"Take a break." He shrugged. "I need motivation."
"For what?"
"Push ups."
That was a lie and for whatever reason you both knew it too but you didn't particularly care either. You swallowed because you had thought about it, late at night, what it would be like to be underneath him, to have him over you, his breath against your skin, and his scent in your nostrils. You r heart raced as you set aside your reports and stood up.
Zoro was watching you with no shame as his eyes traced your breasts, your arms, to how your hair was. He wanted nothing more than to make a mess of it and of you but he did need to continue his workout as it was.
Maybe there could be a secondary work out.
"Grab your towel." He told you as he stretched, enjoying the feel of your eyes on him once more. You merely nodded as you grabbed it and walked over to him.
"What am I-"
"Lay down."
Your eyebrows shot up and he had the faintest blush. "I'm going to be doing pushups and planks, I want motivation so I won't give out."
You nodded slowly as you set the towel down, well aware of the feeling of Zoro's eyes on your ass.
"How many are you doing?"
"Five hundred push ups and two hundred planks varying on how long I hold them."
"Hmm. Right, and I'm just going to lay there?"
"Tch, you'll get a sunburn if you stay in the sun ." He smirked at you as you laid down, your eyes rolling but a smile played on your lips.
"Fine, but I'll raise you one." You watched him as he got into position over you. His arms held him up with ease, there wasn't even a strain on them as he raised a brow.
"Raise me one what?"
You aren't sure what made you feel so bold but you pushed your chest up a bit and you looked at him through his lashes.
"I'll kiss you if you do a thousand push ups and three hundred planks."
His eyes widened and he almost faltered as he began his push ups. He went down, lips close to yours then as he held his position and he looked from your eyes to your lips.
"Deal."
You didn't think he'd take it but honestly you should have known that he would. Zoro never backed down from a challenge. Your breath caught as he went back up and smirked down at you again. His dark eyes filled with the challenge and lust along with another emotion that you couldn't name just yet or maybe you didn't want to.
"Count them for me." His voice was low, rumbling deep in his chest and for a moment you weren't sure if you were on deck or in the bedroom.
"One."
"Good girl."
Your cheeks heated as your breath caught in your throat but you continued counting for him because how could you not when he called you a good girl?
The two of you continued on, you counting diligently as he went up and down and then again. It was truly amazing how the crew hadn't come to check on the two of you as he got to five hundred with ease.
"You're so strong." You whispered and he smirked a bit.
"Like it?"
"Maybe, 501."
Once he got to thousand, he didn't stop there.
No, he adjusted his stance to be in a plank over you. "Count to sixty."
You listened to his breathing, his grunts, and your mind was racing with a different scenario. This was far more intimate than anything the two of you had shared before but you didn't mind it. Your hands stayed by your side or they rested on your stomach but they were itching to feel his back and his biceps and his chest.
Gods, you weren't one to objectify people but Roronoa Zoro was sculpted by the gods themselves.
You swallowed as he finished plank fifty.
"Still feeling good, Zo?" You asked, a bit breathily as his sweat dripped from his forehead onto your skin, causing you to shiver and he smirked down at you. He could do this all day and gods, did he not love to see you underneath him like that, watching him with darkening eyes. He could feel all but feel your desire rolling off of you in waves.
He'd be lying if he said he didn't want to take you up to the crow's nest and have his way with your with your pretty eyes and that pretty little mouth too.
"Mm." He grunted as he listened to you count. Your voice in his ears wasn't helping either because he wanted nothing more than to have it against his ear and to hear you breathless as he touched you the way he wanted to. He held his position as his eyes trailed your body again. "I'm good."
It continued like that, you'd ask him how he was doing, he'd answered, you'd count, he'd sometimes slip a good girl in there and you had no idea how much you liked being called one until he did it. But maybe it was only from him that you liked it.
"Three hundred." You muttered, watching him as he stayed hovering above you.
He was sweating but gods, did he look good, he wasn't even quivering as he held his position over you. Zoro could do this all day and you wondered just how good his stamina was.
Your eyes met and you knew he was going to bring it up, what you had challenged him to, and you wanted him to. You wanted to kiss him.
"I believe I owe you something."
"Do you?"
"Mhm." Your hands came up to rest on his sides, gently resting against his skin and squeezing for a brief moment, enjoying the feel of his muscle underneath your hand and it seemed he did to.
"One more push up?" Your asked, looking at him through your lashes. He obliged and pressed his lips to yours as he hovered slightly above you, not putting his weight on you. It was tentative at first when his lips met yours until you kissed him a bit deeper. Zoro took it as an invitation as he kissed you back with a passion you hadn't realized he had possessed for something other than his swords. You moaned softly as your fingers tangled into his hair, tugging on it gently as your nails scraped at his scalp, causing him to groan with you. Your lips parted when he swiped his tongue against them, practically begging for an entrance. You allowed it, tongues tangling together.
It was hot, heated, and you all but melted for him as he continued to kiss you, devouring your mouth. It was just the two of you until it wasn't.
"OI. MARIMO! WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO HER?"
Zoro growled against your lips and you closed your eyes, counting to ten so you wouldn't kill Sanji.
"Kissing her, curly. Something you wouldn't know about."
You stifled a giggle at his jab and Zoro smirked as Sanji snarled at him.
"Dinner's almost ready, and leave her alone."
You shot a hand up, it momentarily leaving Zoro's hair, and gave him a thumbs up., hoping that Sanji would get the message and leave the two of you in peace so you could keep kissing. But you had a feeling he probably wouldn't.
"I'm fine, Sanji!" You called out as Zoro smirked at the cook.
"We'll be there." He told him before he learned down and kissed you again. He pulled back and brushed his lips against your ear. "Crow's nest, midnight, hm?"
With that, he stood up, helping you up. Your cheeks were a rosy pink and your eyes were wide and filled with lust and desire.
"I'll be there." You squeaked and he nodded, walking past you, grabbing your hand for a brief moment before squeezing it and letting it go.
"Good."
You turned and watched him go, your heart racing, and the adrenaline of what the hell the last hour had been still flowing through your veins.
You were definitely going to be watching Zoro train again and no one was going to stop you.
The intelligence reports were just going to have to wait.
Summary: Nobody on the Moby Dick understands why you can't stand Portgas D. Ace. He thinks you're absolutely terrifying. You think he's an idiot with a death wish. The commanders think you're flirting. Convinced the two of you simply need to "bond," the commanders keep forcing you together through increasingly ridiculous schemes, and when that doesn't work, Thatch brings out the infamous Get-Along Shirt.

For most people, joining the Whitebeard Pirates felt like coming home to a house with a thousand open doors. For you, however, the arrival of Portgas D. Ace felt more like someone had invited in a chaotic hurricane to take up permanent residence in the living room.
Everyone loved him. It was infuriating. Within a week of him finally coming to his senses, the commanders were treating him like a long-lost younger brother, and the crew was enchanted by his reckless energy and that blinding, confident grin. But you? You couldn't shake the image of him trying to kill Pops. Like the others, you had watched the entire ordeal from the sidelines - the desperation he showed, the sheer audacity of his attack on Edward Newgate, and the way the old man had dismantled his efforts with a bored, effortless strength.
What bothered you wasn't that he had fought - you were a pirate too after all, used to stupid fights between your brothers and rivaled crews; it was that he had tried to throw his life away with such a casual disregard. And then, after being repeatedly defeated by the most powerful man in the world over and over again, he had immediately tried to kill him again. It was illogical. It was maddening. It was, in your professional opinion, the peak of humanly stupidity.
So, while the rest of the ship basked in Ace's radiance after he finally stopped his suicide mission, you treated him like a hazardous waste spill.
It quickly became routine and a staple of the morning deck rotations. You would be leaning against the railing, enjoying the salt-spray air, when a certain mop of black hair with a stupid orange hat and a pair of black shorts would bounce into your periphery.
"Morning!" Ace would chirp, his voice far too loud and cheerful for the hour.
You wouldn't even look at him properly. "Don't."
Ace would blink, tilting his head with a look of genuine confusion. "⌠Don't what?"
"Exist near me," you'd reply flatly, finally turning your gaze to him with a look of profound exhaustion.
From a few feet away, Marco would let out a rumbling chuckle, his eyes hooded and clearly amused, much to your dismay. "Still at it, are you two, yoi?"
Thatch, leaning against a barrel of apples, would nudge Marco with a huge grin on his face. "Look at that tension between our youngsters. I'm telling you, Marco, they're flirting. I can literally smell it in the air."
You shot Thatch a look that could have frozen the entire Grand Line. "I will throw you overboard, Thatch. And I will do it with a huge smile on my face."
The commanders, ever the old meddlers, decided that the disharmony between you and the new recruit was a problem that needed immediate solving. They viewed your disdain as a challenge and began orchestrating a series of "bonding exercises" that were, in reality, just various ways to torture you.
Attempt #1
"Y/N," Marco had said, his tone deceptively casual, which already made you suspicious. "Ace is still a bit lost regarding the layout of the ship. Why don't you show him around? You know every nook and cranny."
You wanted to argue with Marco, but you respected the older man too much to throw a fit over something this trivial, so you had just sighed, a sound that carried the weight of a thousand regrets, and led Ace through the corridors. It was peaceful for exactly five minutes. You pointed out the armory, the infirmary, and the galley. Ace followed along, nodding and asking questions that were mostly distractions.
Then, the two of you hit the kitchen.
Ace, in an attempt to be helpful by rearranging some spice jars to "make them look cooler," managed to knock over a canister of highly flammable cooking oil just as a stovetop flame leaped up. In a flash, a curtain of fire erupted, licking the ceiling with a sudden and very violent hunger.
As the crew scrambled to put out the fire and poor Thatch screamed in horror about his precious saffron, you simply stood there with your arms crossed over your chest, staring at the soot-covered Ace.
"You're proving my point," you said tonelessly.
Attempt #2
"You two young ones have a lot of pent-up energy," Izou had observed, leaning against a training post with a fan covering the lower half of his face. "Why not train together? A little friendly sparring to get the blood pumping."
You had agreed only because you thought it would be a satisfying way to knock some sense into the boy. He seemed to need it badly.
The session started with you moving like you always did during a sparring match; entirely focused and disciplined. You were trying to execute a series of serious strikes with precise and calculated movements. Ace, however, treated the entire thing like a game. He kept making jokes, dodging your attacks with a lazy, playful grin, and laughing right in your face every time you almost caught him.
"You're too stiff, Y/N!" he grinned, sliding backwards with a flourish. "Lighten up! It's just a spar!"
His taunting was the final straw. In one fluid, explosive movement, you stopped thinking about sparring and started thinking about silencing him. You pivoted, using his own momentum against him, and slammed him flat onto his back with a resounding thud that echoed across the whole deck.
You knelt over him and looked down with cold eyes, your forearm pressed against his throat.
Izou blinked, looking over at Marco. "⌠Does this count as progress?"
Marco hummed, watching Ace stare up at you with a look of dazed fascination. "Questionable, yoi."
Attempt #3
"Inventory duty," Thatch had announced. "The storehouse is a mess. You two are uhâŚ. the only people available right now to get it organized."
The glare you shot his way could've killed a weaker man, but once again, you didn't argue. For an hour, Ace and you worked in a focused silence. You were meticulously cataloging crates of dried meat and barrels of flour, your pen scratching rhythmically against the parchment. Ace was supposed to be counting sacks of grain.
But when you turned around to ask him for the total, you only found the storehouse empty.
Already starting to feel irritated, you stepped outside and looked up. There, on the railing of the upper deck, was Ace. Of course he wasn't working. He wasn't even looking for grain. He was crouched low, eyes wide and focused, silently chasing a bright blue butterfly that was fluttering haphazardly toward the bow.
You stood there in the silence of the storehouse, the pen still poised over the paper, feeling a vein throb in your temple.
"âŚ"
It didn't take long for the rest of the crew to notice the anomaly. Ace was an easy-going kid; he got along with basically everyone. He took criticism with a laugh and followed orders with the biggest grin on his face. But with you? He never stopped poking, never stopped trying to get a reaction out of you. And you, who were known as the most patient person on the Moby Dick - the woman who could handle a drunken crew of five hundred without breaking a sweat - became a different person the moment Ace entered the room.
You were a ticking time bomb, and Ace was the one holding the match, looking far too happy about the potential explosion.
Eventually, Pops had seen enough. The Captain's booming laughter had filled the deck as he looked down at the two of you, his eyes twinkling with a mischief that matched the commanders.
"Enough of this bickering!" Whitebeard roared, though his tone was fond. "You two need to find some common ground. We're making a simple supply stop at the next island. Y/N, Ace, you'll handle the shopping. Just the two of you."
The old man had barely finished his sentence before you immediately and simultaneously objected.
"Pops, please!" you pleaded, your voice reaching a pitch of desperation. "Anyone else! Send a cabin boy! Send a random crewmate! Even a seagull will do!"
"I don't wanna go with her!" Ace complained, crossing his arms and pouting like a little child. "She's scary! She looks at me like I'm a piece of rotten fish!"
"Because you are a piece of rotten fish!" you snapped. "Actually, you're even wor-"
"Quiet, my children," Whitebeard commanded, though he was clearly enjoying himself. "It's settled. You leave at dawn."
The trip to the island was already a complete disaster from the moment the rowboat hit the sand.
First, because something just had to go wrong immediately, Ace forgot the shopping list. Not accidentally "misplaced" it - he forgot it entirely. So when you asked for it, he gave you a sheepish grin and reassured you he remembered the important parts.
The "important parts", as it turned out, were mostly snacks for himself.
As you navigated the village market, you found yourself losing years of your life. Every time you tried to focus on the essential medical supplies or the bulk grains, Ace would just⌠wander off. He got distracted by a street performer, a shiny trinket, and most infuriatingly, a group of cats behind a fishmonger's stall.
You stopped dead in your tracks, watching him coo at a scrawny orange tabby, his entire demeanor shifting as he made some exaggerated baby noises at the clearly confused feline creature. For a second, you almost felt a flicker of sympathy - there was something weirdly endearing watching a powerful man like him act like this. Then he tried to bring the cat along for the shopping trip.
"No," you said flatly, already continuing on your way.
"But look at his little paws, Y/N."
"Put the cat down, Ace."
"You're so mean!"
By the time you reached the outskirts of the village to pick up the specialty lumber Jozu had requested, you were mutter-screaming into the wind.
"I can't believe this," you hissed, clutching the bags of supplies angrily. "You're actually going to become a commander? You're a liability! You're like⌠like a walking disaster area!"
Ace just shrugged beside you, his grin returning. "Apparently. Pops thinks I've got potential."
"Potential for what? To set the ocean on fire?"
"Maybe!" he laughed loudly.
The bickering continued for hours. You argued about basically everything. The most efficient route back to the shore, the best way to split the remaining berries, even about who was carrying the heavier load (it was you obviously, because Ace had spent half the trip scouting for more cats).
And the worst part? Through it all, he just kept on smiling. That stupid, effortless, sunshine-filled smile that suggested he wasn't even bothered by your anger in the slightest. It only served to irritate you further, making you feel like you were shouting at a wall.
Then, while taking a shortcut through a wooded ravine to avoid a sudden rainstorm, disaster struck once again, as if you didn't have enough on your plate already. A mudslide triggered by the heavy rain collapsed the narrow path behind you and blocked the way forward with a wall of debris and fallen timber. You weren't trapped in a life-threatening way - you had plenty of food and water - but you were stuck. The path was impassable, and the rain was too heavy to climb the steep, slippery cliffs.
Ace wanted to blow the way up, but you immediately shut that idea down, not trusting his⌠precision.
You had to wait. For hours. Together.
The rain hammered against the makeshift shelter of a rocky overhang, turning the air cool and damp. for the first hour, you sat on opposite sides of the cave, the silence thick and filled with lingering resentment.
Eventually, boredom won. It was you who actually caved.
"So," you began, your voice echoing slightly. "Why were you so determined to kill Pops?"
It was a very blunt question, devoid of the usual sarcasm you normally brought into a conversation that involved him. But you had been thinking about it for weeks. To you, the attack on Whitebeard wasn't just an act of youthful rebellion; it was a goddamn suicide mission. A really bad one at that.
Ace froze. He had been poking at a piece of driftwood with a stick, but he stopped and you saw the way his shoulders tensed. He didn't look at you first. The silence stretched on, eventually becoming heavier and heavier.
"I⌠I had a debt," he said quietly. His voice had lost its playful edge, replaced by a raw honesty instead. "A debt of blood and pride. I thought⌠I thought the only way to settle it was to take down the man on top. I didn't care if I died doing it. In fact, I wanted to."
You weren't expecting the unfiltered honesty coming from him. You had expected a joke, or a deflection, or a boast about his strength. The sudden vulnerability in his voice caught you off guard, managing to strip away your anger and leaving something else in its place.
"That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard," you whispered.
Ace let out a short, dry laugh. "Yeah. I know. Trust me, even I know that now."
You looked at him - really looked at him - in the dim light of the cave. He looked smaller somehow, less like the chaotic hurricane and more like a boy who had spent his entire life fighting a war no one knew he was even waging.
"I⌠I wasn't angry because you attacked him," you admitted, your voice barely audible over the rain.
Ace turned his head, his dark eyes searching yours. "⌠What?"
"I wasn't angry that you tried to kill Pops. He can handle himself, he's the strongest man in the world after all. Hell, he didn't even blink," you said, your gaze drifting to the rain-slicked rocks. "I was angry because you kept throwing your life away. You walked onto the ship like⌠like you were already dead. And you fought like you didn't think you deserved to survive. It pissed me the fuck offâŚ"
Ace froze completely. Even the distant sounds outside died down, leaving only the loud beating of his own heart. He was silent for a long time.
"⌠You barely knew me," he whispered.
"Didn't matter," you replied matter-of-factly, finally meeting his eyes. "Nobody deserves to be that eager to die. Especially not someone who⌠who has as much potential as you do."
The tension in the air shifted. It was no longer the tension of an incoming fight between the two of you, but something fragile and new starting to take root. Ace didn't say thank you, and you didn't ask for it. But for the first time, the distance between you felt like it was shrinking. And you didn't mind it.
When you finally made it back to the Moby Dick, the crew noticed the change immediately.
You were still bickering. You still called him an idiot all the time, and he poked at you until you threatened to throw him overboard. But it was the tone that had changed. The sharpness was gone, replaced by a new, strange energy. You weren't trying to push him away anymore, not really; you were just arguing for the sake of it. Because it was Ace. Because it was⌠fun.
Marco noticed. Thatch noticed. And Thatch, being, well, Thatch, decided that this was the perfect moment to introduce a legendary tradition.
"Alright, listen up!" Thatch announced one afternoon, stepping into the center of the deck with a triumphant flourish. You had been in the middle of an intense card game against Haruta and Jozu as you looked up, curious what the commotion was about. In his hands was a piece of fabric so large it looked like a goddamn circus tent.
It was a gigantic, oversized white shirt. It had two massive sleeves and a neckline that could probably fit three people.
"The Get-Along Shirt!" Thatch beamed. "A relic from the early days. Whenever two commanders couldn't stop fighting and it started to affect morale, they were forced into the shirt. It's a valuable lesson in cooperation and, well, shared misery."
You stared at the monstrosity in complete disbelief. "⌠No."
Ace, having just stepped onto the main deck, stared at it with equal horror. "Yeah, absolutely not."
"Too late!" Marco chirped, appearing behind you with a speed that suggested he had been waiting for this moment his entire life.
Before you could protest, you and Ace were hoisted up and shoved into the shirt. It was a chaotic ordeal, a scramble of limbs and fabric. You were pressed so tightly against him that your shoulders touched and your hips brushed against each other with even the smallest movement. The shirt was so long that it draped down to your mid-thighs, leaving you both feeling exposed yet absurdly close.
"You stay like that until dinner!" Thatch declared, laughing as he walked away to tell the rest of the crew. That goddamn chatterbox.
The next few hours were a test of endurance, and you were completely failing it.
Walking was the first real challenge. Because you shared the same space within the fabric, you had to synchronize your steps perfectly in order to move properly. If you moved left and he moved right - which happened a lot -, you both simply tipped over like dominoes.
"Move your leg, idiot!" you hissed, not even fully realizing that your face was only inches from his.
"I can't move my leg if you're stepping on it!" he shot back, though he was fighting a smile you damn near punched out of his stupidly handsome face.
You tried to navigate the stairs to the upper deck, but the oversized fabric got caught under Ace's boot. With a sudden yelp, he tripped, pulling you down with him. You crashed into him, your chest colliding with his hard torso, your hands instinctively grabbing his shoulders to stabilize yourself.
You landed in a heap on the deck, the fall making the shirt bunch up around you. For a moment, the two of you were completely entangled. Your face was pressed against the crook of his neck, and you could feel the radiating heat of his skin, a constant warmth that made him feel like a living furnace.
As you scrambled and tried to push yourself up, your hand slipped, and you accidentally brushed against his chest. You felt the solid muscle beneath the thin fabric, the rabid beat of his heart directly under your fingertips. At the same time, Ace shifted to help you up, and his large hand accidentally cupped the side of your breast.
He froze. You would've laughed in any other situation because he genuinely looked like he wasn't even breathing.
The silence that followed was electric. Ace, for all his confidence, was still a young man. A deep crimson flooded his face, spreading from his neck to the tip of his ears. He jerked his hand away as if he had been burned and looked at you with wide and startled eyes.
"S-sorry!" he stammered, his voice cracking.
You felt a flush of your own creeping up your neck, but you didn't pull away immediately. The closeness was overwhelming, so much so that you needed a second to return to your senses. You could smell him - the scent of smoke, sea salt, and a hint of something spicy - and you realized that for the first time, you weren't thinking about how stupid he was. You were thinking about how warm he was. And handsome. Especially the latter, though you would never loudly admit that.
Eventually, you both gave up trying to escape the shirt and simply sat down against the railing, leaning into each other for support.
The noise of the ship faded into the background. It was just the two of you, sharing a single piece of cloth and even breathing in synchronization. You could hear the soft sounds of his lungs, the way his breath hitched ever so slightly when you shifted. You noticed the tiny freckles across the bridge of his nose, the way his eyelashes cast long shadows on his cheeks.
What a beautiful man, you thought.
"You don't actually hate me," Ace said quietly.
You sighed, resting your head against his shoulder. The fabric of the shirt felt soft against your skin. "⌠No. But I do think you're stupid⌠You?"
He laughed softly, a sound that vibrated through his chest and into your own. "I've liked you since the second week I've been here."
You bolted upright, nearly knocking you both over again. "Excuse me?!"
Ace didn't look away this time. His gaze was steady, his expression surprisingly tender. "I kept talking to you because you were the only person who didn't treat me like I was amazing. Everyone else was often just so⌠impressed. But you? You just thought I was a moron. It was refreshing. And you're⌠you're super pretty and cool. Even when you yelled at me all the time."
You stared at him, your heart performing a frantic drum solo against your ribs. You wanted to throw another of your usual sarcastic comments at him. You wanted to tell him he was a moron, because he was. But the words died in your throat.
"You⌠you have some serious issues," you whispered, but you didn't really mean it. There was no heat in it, which Ace noticed.
"I know, Y/N," he replied, a small and genuine smile touching his lips.
You started laughing. It wasn't a scoff or a sneer this time, but a real laugh that bubbled up from your chest and wouldn't die down for a long time. You leaned into him, the absurdity of the situation finally breaking you.
Ace stared at you, his expression softening. "⌠You have a nice laugh."
You immediately stopped, and your entire face heated up. "Don't make this weird, Portgas."
"I physically can't," he whispered.
Your hands brushed again. This time, neither of you moved away. Ace's fingers slid into yours, his grip firm and warm. The tension that had been building for weeks, the continuos bickering, fighting, but also the shared glances, finally snapped.
Ace was the one who leaned in slowly, giving you every chance to pull away. You didn't.
The kiss was hesitant at first, a soft exploration of lips and breath. His mouth, coupled with the way his hand was sliding down your arm, was all too much. Good much. So fucking good. You just whimpered. As soon as the sound left you, Ace groaned into your mouth, his other hand sliding up to cup your jaw, pulling you closer until there was no space left between you.
He maneuvered you with a sudden, almost desperate strength, pulling you onto his lap as best as the oversized shirt would allow. You wrapped your arms around his neck, your fingers tangling in his black hair, as you lost yourself in each other. Nothing else mattered. There was only the heat of his skin, the taste of him you already knew you would become addicted to, and the rhythmic thrum of the ocean beneath you.
It was the perfect first kiss - until, suddenly, the door to the deck area swung open. Right. You completely forgot where you had been.
"Alright, time for dinner! I hope the you two have learned the meaning of coop-"
Thatch stopped dead in his tracks. Marco appeared beside him, a smirk already forming on his face.
You and Ace jumped apart, both of you completely flushed from head to toe, hair disheveled, and lips swollen. You were still stuck in the same gigantic shirt, looking like a very confused, very guilty, and very red-faced intertwined mess.
Marco let out a triumphant chuckle. "Told you they like each other, yoi."
Thatch wiped a fake tear from his eye, looking profoundly moved. "They're growing up so quickly."
You buried your face in the collar of the shirt, wishing the fabric could swallow you whole. Ace just grinned, though his head was still bright red, and squeezed your hand.
"Shut up, Thatch!" he yelled, but he didn't let go of you. Not for a single second.

Portgas D. Ace
He left you alone for one second, one, and some man felt like he had a chance. Ace could only laugh at the manâs confidence. But honestly, he should have expected it. I mean, you were you after all: beautiful, funny, sexy, and stubborn in the best way. Who wouldnât want a shot at getting with you. Hell, he was lucky that only one man was vying for your attention and not the whole damn bar.
Eh, he knew how this was gonna end anyways. Might as well enjoy the show.
âHey, sweet cheeks. Come here often?â The man stunk of whiskey and a solid layer of dirt covered his body.
âNew in town,â you replied effortlessly. You didnât want to give him anything too seductive, but you also didnât want to scare him away. After all, you knew youâd get two shows for the price of one: a bumbling idiot trying to flirt and Ace making sure everyone know just who would be taking you home tonight.
âMaybe I could show youâs around then, doll? I know where all the fun happens.â The stranger sent you a wink.
âHmmm, I do love a bit of fun. Know any good places one could grab a drink?â You put on your best act of being dumb, pretending as if you didn't actively have a drink in your hand.
Taken aback by the question, the man tripped over his words before answering, âWell, doll, I can buy ya one right here if yaâd like.â
âOh, a drink would be just lovely,â you gave him your biggest, most insane smile. Time for the show.
Across the room, Ace leaned against the bar next to Thatch. He slowly slipped on his drink, smirking and holding in his laughs as he watched this man make a fool of himself at your feet.
âOh, for the love ofâ not again!â Thatch cried. âMarco, itâs happening again.â
Marco turned, preparing to ask Thatch what he meant, before he noticed you and the stranger bantering across the way and the over-the-top nonchalant attitude Ace had taken up in its wake. Marco simply sighed and turned to Thatch. âDamn it,â he laughed, âWell, I guess you can room in my cabin again.â
Ace, half listening, turned to the two men, confused. âWhat are you talking about? Why would Thatch need to room with you?â
âBecause every time a person flirts with Y/N, it ends with your headboard beating against the wall until three a.m., and some of us actually enjoy sleeping,â Thatch spoke, annoyed as Marco let out another chuckle.
Ace felt very little shame at the idea of everyone knowing, hearing that you were his. In fact, he was about to smirk at Thatchâs words until the sound of your laughter stopped him in his tracks. His head whipped back over to look at you as you sent the stranger a soft but hesitant smile.
What started as a fun side quest quickly turned into an annoying scene as the man pushed his limits a step (or ten) too far.
âThe way your lips fit around that pint got me thinking about what else those beauts can do.â Your stomach dropped at the manâs vulgarity. You held in the heavy sigh of annoyance that gathered at the back of your throat, instead taking a deep breath and gathering your thoughts before choosing your response.
Normally, you would just leave this guy in the dust with a few less teeth, but Pops had said no fights this time, and you were nothing if not an obedient child⌠no matter how badly you wanted to punch this man square in the face.
âIâm sorry, sugar.â You gave him a smile that hurt to produce in the wake of his words. âI just donât think Iâm too much fun tonight. Maybe youâll find another lovely lady to breathe heavily next to.â You appeared sweet, but your words were wrapped with passive-aggressive undertones which you hoped his alcohol littered mind wouldnât pick up on.
âOh, but darling, I think you misunderstand, youâre the one Iâm gonna have tonight.â The man stepped close, his hot breath fanning over your face, sending a sinking feeling to your stomach and a horrible shiver up your spine. You immediate turned to search for Ace.
Seeing you search for him, Ace knew immediately the man had made you uncomfortable. Without blinking, Ace downed the rest of his drink, wiped away the drop that trickled down his chin, and pushed off the bar, heading in your direction. He made his way over to you with the precision of an apex predator and the intentions of a man who looked upon you as if you had created the world by hand.
As you were searching for the words to de-escalate the mess you started, Ace stepped up beside you and slung his arm around your shoulders, placing his hat on your head with the movement.
You immediately felt your body relax under the weight of your lover. The man across from you, on the other hand, tensed up.
âHey, love,â your boyfriend spoke, paying the man across from you no mind. This only caused the strangerâs face to grow tighter with anger.
âAce!â you sighed out, leaning into him, grateful he had come to your aid. Speaking as if nothing was wrong, hoping to keep tensions low, you said, âI was waiting for you to come back. Where have you been?â
As Ace went to reply, the stranger coughed roughly to gain back your attention. âHey, sweetheart, forget someone? Whoâs this anyway? Ya didnât say you had no boyfriend or nothinâ.â His smile was infected with growing irritation and simmering rage.
âHa! You think she was gonna remember you in the first place?â Having you in his arms, showing everyone, showing this man, that you were his, made Ace arrogant. Damn, did he wear arrogance well, but you really did need this getting out of hand.
âOh, Ace, this is justââ You were cut off by the man.
âFella, youâre the one who left her alone. Seems like you're the one whose memory needs to be questioned.â
You sighed, bringing your fingers to your temples. You really did not need this right now.
âAce, hey, how about we just head bacââ
Before you could finish speaking, Ace pulled you into a deep, passionate, and probably obscene-looking kiss.
You pulled away, stuttering as a blush washed over your face. âA-AceâŚâ
He turned to the man with a smirk. âSee, already forgetting her own name.â The stranger stood there, stunned by his own anger.
Before another breath could be taken, Ace listen you with the ease and confidence he had every right to possess. Flinging you over his shoulder as you let out a soft yelp, he sauntered out of the bar. The smirk on his face told you exactly what he had planned back in your cabin.
Thatch could do nothing but sigh in defeat as he turned to Marco. âYouâve still got that extra blanket, right?â
Monkey D. Luffy
It took Luffy an embarrassingly long time to realize you were not beside him, his focus drawn away by the shiny beetle broach at the vendor table while you were still checking out at the last stall. When he looked up to see your reaction to the little object, he found you a few paces away chatting with a stranger who seemed a big to uppity to be cool.
âHey, Y/N!â Luffy gave you a wide smile before turning to the person across from you. âWho are you?â Luffy asked, his head tilting to the side with the inquiry.
âSir, canât you see youâre interrupting something?â The man gestured towards you. âThis lovely lady was just agreeing to go on a date with me this evening.â
Luffy laughed, âHA! That's kinda stupid. Y/Ns with me!â
The man gasped at Luffyâs words, taken aback by his bluntness and audacity to speak to a noble man like himself in a crass manner. Then he looked at you, and an apologetic and tight smile came across his face.
âI see⌠Good day, madam.â
As the man stepped back with a small bow, Luffy took your hand to pull you away and show you the knick-knack which had distracted him in the first place.
âI didnât even want that bitch anyway.â The man grumbled mostly to himself, but loud enough that it did not miss Luffyâs ears.
You froze. âDamn it,â you thought. All you wanted was one nice stroll.
Luffy turned around slowly. You groaned as a headache began developing.
âLuffy, hey, câmon, just ignore him. Heâs not worthâ.â
âWhat did you say?â Luffy seethed, his tone so serious that you began to think he may have been possessed.
The foolish stranger did not back down. In fact, he doubled down.
âI said,â he puffed out his chest, basically begging Luffy for a fight, âI didnât want that bitch anyway.â
Before the man could finish, his body was twelve feet in the air and flying across the village. A tremor in the ground and a cloud of dust in the distance told you he had landed. Hard. All eyes quickly turned to you two. It was time to leave.
Looking back at Luffy, you see him still staring in the direction he had sent the stranger flying. His breathing was heavy and rapid, his muscles visibly tense, and his hands still balled into shaking fists.
âLuffy, hey,â you reach out to touch his shoulder, hoping to calm him down enough to listen. At the contact, he melted, returning to the present, to you. âLu, we gotta go,â you spoke softly as you slowly intertwined your fingers with his and pulled him in the direction of the ship.
The jog back was silent and quick, worry growing in your stomach at not only the idea of trouble coming but at the quietness of your boyfriend. You had never seen Luffy be so quiet for so long, not even in his sleep, but addressing the situation would have to wait until you found the rest of the crew and shipped off.
As the sun set and the ocean waves gently rocked the Sunny, you found Luffy sitting on the lion head, the place he went to think⌠and nap⌠and eat. Honestly, itâs just where he was kind of all the time.
âHey, Lu! Mind giving me a lift?â you called up.
Luffy looked down from his seat with a smile before his rubber arms flew down to wrap around you, pulling you up into his lap.
For a moment, you two sat in comfortable familiarity watching the sunset shimmer off the water, creating a spectacular mirage of pinks and gold as Luffy pointed out shapes he saw in the clouds, but the weight of the day, of what Luffy did in your name, sat heavy on your chest.
You lifted your head from his shoulder to look into his eyes. âLovey, are you okay? That loser really seemed to get to you back at the market.â
Luffy turned away from your gaze for a moment before taking a breath and pulling you in tighter. âI didnât like what he said, what he called you. It just made me so⌠mad.â
âOh, Luffy.â You reached up to cup his face and bring his attention fully to you. âI appreciate that you did that for me, but you really didnât have to. He was a nobody. He wasnât worth the anger of a great man.â
âIf it means protecting you, it will always be worth it.â His words and wide smile left your heart skipping a beat and your breath catching in your throat. âIâd do it again on every island we go to, every town we stop in, if it meant honoring your name.â
âLuffy⌠I donâtâ Iâm not worth all thaââ
âYou are too silly!â He said it like it was easy, like it was the most natural thing his mind could produce.
As tears welled in your eyes, you dove into his embrace, nearly toppling him over before he caught you with a soft laugh.
âPlus, I did hit him pretty far, might be a new record!â
You couldnât help but join in on his laughter.
âI like it when you smile! Donât ever stop.â
âI wonât, Luffy,â you wiped away the soft tears that fell as you let out another small laugh. âAs long as you promise to keep being you.â
âWho else would I be?â He asked with a deadly serious face and a small head tilt, which only made you laugh more.
Trafalgar Law
Going out with the whole crew was a luxury, especially when your boyfriend would much rather be back on the ship, cuddled into your side. Not that that wasnât an amazing alternative, but sometimes you wanted a night out with all the people you cared about, all having fun together.
In the dim lights of the corner of the tavern, the crewâs laughter at Shachiâs latest story wound down as a man slid up to the table, leaning onto the post nearest you. As he stopped next to you, he let out a small cough, pulling your attention (as well as the attention of the whole table).
âHey angel,â he wore a smug smirk, âI was wondering if I could get you a drink.â
âOh, Iâm okay!â You turned to the rest of the crew sitting with you. âAnyone else wanna order something?â
Your oblivious reaction to the manâs flirting had the table, outside of Bepo and Law, crescendoing into another round of laughs while confusion rose to your face.
The man, adjusting his stance to be closer to you, clarified. âI think you misunderstand, dear. It is your beauty alone that has entranced me this evening. It would be an honor if you would grace me with your presence.â
Ikkaku sighed heavily and picked up her drink at the manâs absorbed behavior. Shachi choked on his own laugh, and Penguin was nearly in tears.
Law, however, showed no reaction. He simply lifted his drink to his lips and watched the scene unfold from under the shadow of the brim of his hat.
âOhhhh,â a soft blush washed over your cheeks as you realized the meaning of his words. âThatâs so sweet, but Iâm sorry. Iâm actually spoken for.â
His eyes swept over the table, trying to assess which of the rowdy group could possibly have won you over. With an aura of judgment, he said, âI see. Well, I am sorry for disturbing your evening.â He lifted your hand to his lips and departed from the table.
As your hand came back down, Law grabbed it under the table, rubbing soft circles with his thumb in the spot where the man had kissed you, almost as if he could wipe it away.
âNext rounds on me!â You happily declared, sliding out from the booth to head to the bar.
âHurry back, cap gets grumpy when youâre gone too long,â Penguin joked with a smirk, elbowing Shachi beside him. Law sent them a dark glare, which only had the two men laughing more.
âBehave, you two,â you joked as you walked away.
You ordered from the barkeep and took a seat at the counter to wait. Less than five seconds later, the man in the stool next to you leaned over.
âHey, sweetheart. Whatâs a pretty thing like you doing in a place like this?â
âJust having some drinks,â you answered with a friendly smile.
âYou should drink with me.â He leaned in even closer, face mere inches from yours, causing you to lean back, teetering in your chair. âOr even better, how about we get out of here?â
Before you could reply, planning to turn the man down as nicely as possible, a blue haze flooded the room, and you were suddenly transported from your spot at the bar to your seat next to Law.
You turned to your lover with a confused look.
Law simply said, âUniâs gonna grab the drinks.â
âI am?â You heard from across the table, but your attention was drawn away by Law once more, taking your hand under the table.
As you watched Shachi and Pen compete in a round of darts, a woman came up to where you stood, leaning against a tall table with Ikkaku.
and another
Suddenly, Law appeared beside you.
âOkay, thatâs enough,â Law grabbed your hand, leaving the woman surprised. âWeâre going back to the ship.â
A chorus of âOOOOâ came from the crew, as well as a few wolf-whistles at the actions of their captain.
âBut why werenât we having fun?â You asked, letting Law drag you away. âI didnât get to finish my drink,â you pouted.
âTsk,â he let out a breathy laugh. âIâll get you another one⌠on the ship.â
âHmpf,â you deepened your frown, âFine, but you have to give me lots of cuddles too!â
Law slowed his march towards the ship to move his hand from yours and wrap it around your waist, pulling you into his side. âIf you insist,â he replied with a small, smug, and loving smile.
This was written as part of a fic exchange with the truly phenomenal @aceidentallyinlove đ You're an absolutely amazing person and I hope this fic is what you were looking for!
There wasnât really a reason for your mood.
There were several things making it worse though. The rigging creaked with the same grating complaint it always did, some gull kept screaming from a place you couldnât find well enough to chase it, and the sun followed you across the deck no matter where you dragged yourself to nap off the bad mood.
Well, followed was a generous term. It was following its normal path. But Ace, on the other hand, was certainly following you.
He was just lucky he wasnât one of those things worsening your mood.
âI can probably make at least one thing better,â he said. âSo⌠whatâs the worst?â
You sighed through your nose and squinted toward the sky. âItâs too bright but Iâm not sure how youâre going to help with that.â
He thought about it before he beamed.
You startled when he suddenly dropped down into a plank over you, arms planted firmly on either side of your head.
âNow Iâm your personal sun shield,â he said. âAnd I can probably stay here until the sun goes down.â
You looked over his shoulder to where the sun was. âThatâs going to be at least five hours.â
âHey, I have amazing stamina.â
You caught the fastener of his hat and pinned it to his chest with your palm so it stopped dangling in your face. âYouâll have amazing sunburn after this. And Marco on your back about neglecting your work.â
âThey can survive without me,â Ace said. âBesides, donât you also have stuff to do?â
You narrowed your eyes faintly. âWhy donât you do some push-ups? If youâre going to show off, do it properly.â
He grinned and lowered himself down until his nose brushed yours. âYou just like watching me work out.â
âIf youâre going to have your chest out, you canât blame me for looking at it.â
He repeated the action and you watched his biceps flex. You couldnât deny that helped your mood. The third time he did it, you tilted your head up to brush your lips against his, relishing in the warmth of his breath.
âFeeling better?â
âA little,â you conceded. âI think thereâs a problem with this cure of yours.â
âHm?â
âYou canât keep it up forever.â
âWatch me.â
You laughed softly despite yourself and his smile stretched wider. The annoyance still lingered there but you could hardly be that irritated at the world when Ace was showing off for you.
âWhat else can I do?â he asked. âThere has to be something, right?â
You thought about it as he continued his minor workout above you. âWell, I am craving chocolate but Thatch says weâre out and weâre not going to make land for a few days.â
Ace frowned. âMaybe thereâs something in the storerooms he forgot about?â
âNot a chance,â you scoffed. âThatch notices when I steal half a cup of rice from one of the bags. Thereâs no way heâs forgotten about something.â
âThereâs always a chance, right?â
Aceâs next push up was a little slower and his head drooped slightly before he shook it.
âFalling asleep while youâre working out?â
âWhat? Never.â
âShould I move so I donât get trapped then?â
He huffed. âIâm fine. Iâll stay awake.â
He lowered himself again and you caught the fastener properly, pulling him into an awkward plank while you kissed him. He kept the height, mouth warm against your own as you slid a hand to the back of his neck. His arms shook minutely and you let him go.
âIf you fall asleep on me, Iâm blaming you for not getting anything done today.â
Your kiss had distracted him enough that he didnât seem too bothered by the threat at all. And you were absolutely right.
He only got through one more push-up before his arms slumped aside and his weight dropped onto you heavily, his face buried in your chest. You chuckled softly and plucked the hat from his head. You settled it over your face to get some protection from the sun.
You were probably going to be there for a while.
Your mood had improved by dinner, enough that you found yourself joining in for a round of cards before you headed to bed.
Ace was already in his cabin by the time you stepped in, lying on his back and tossing something into the sky and catching it again. The second he saw you, he sat upright, smile as proud as a cat that had found its way into a bird cage.
âYou look far too pleased,â you noted.
âThatâs because I found you something.â
He held out a foil-wrapped bar, half-opened to show a chocolate inside. You frowned, staring at it in momentary confusion.
âWhere did you find that?â
âThatch said it was technically yours,â Ace said. âI found it in the back of the fridge and asked about it. He did say it has alcohol in it or something but it's still chocolate.â
You stepped closer and snapped off a piece. It was very thin, almost brittle, and flecked with red flakes. A small chocolate bloom had begun to crawl over the surface.
âThis must be really oldâŚâ
Ace shrugged and tossed a piece into his mouth. âTastes fine to me. And if it was off or something, Thatch probably would have thrown it away.â
You couldnât remember when youâd last bought chocolate. It was possible youâd forgotten about it, you supposed⌠You twisted a piece around in your fingers, trying to remember.
Ace plucked it from your fingers. âI think it tastes pretty good,â he said and held it up to your mouth. âYouâll like it.â
You struggled to ever say no to him when he was looking at you with those beautiful eyes. His eyelashes were unfairly long. You opened your mouth. He placed the square on your tongue with a proud grin.
It tasted good, you couldnât deny that. Dark and smooth with a faint citrus bite but something still felt a little strange. Almost like it was sparkling in your mouth, popping and fizzing.
âCan I see the wrapper for this?â you asked.
âYeah.â Ace tore it from the bar and held it out to you. âDo you not like it? Iâll get you something different when we stop again.â
You nodded. âYou can have the rest if you want. It tasted a bit weird to me.â
âThanks,â he said. âIt wasnât so bad.â
The label was worn white from age and years in the cold storage but once you got it into the right spot under the swaying lantern, you recognised it instantly. This was yours. You remembered buying it ages ago by accident and shoving it somewhere in the galley fridge to gather frost.
Unfortunately, in the second it took you to remember what it was, Ace had already bitten through half of it.
âWait, wait!â
Ace froze and swallowed hard. âWhat? Is it actually poisonous?â
âNo but itâs⌠Do you feel okay?â
He looked over himself. âI feel fine. Whatâs wrong with it?â
You held the label out to him. âI realised why I didnât take this from the kitchen. Itâs not normal chocolate. Youâre meant to just have a small piece and it gets you a little worked up.â
âYou bought sex chocolate?â he asked with a small laugh.
âAccidentally,â you said. âI was after the regular version. But youâre definitely not meant to be eating the whole thing. Are you sure youâre not feeling weird?â
He shrugged. âNo more than usual. Maybe it doesnât work on me because of the devil fruit thing? Like it burned off.â
You somehow didnât believe that. âJust let me know if you feel sick, okay?â
âIâm fine,â he said, tossing the chocolate to the side. He pulled you closer to press a kiss on your forehead and another to the corner of your mouth. âSee? Iâm all good.â
Before you could answer, Ace lifted you into a bridal hold, spinning you once before he dropped onto the bed, pulling you with him. You laughed despite yourself and the sound made his smile almost glow.
You adjusted into a more comfortable spot and pressed up to his chest. âThank you for trying. Even if it didnât work.â
He pulled you closer. âIâll get you proper chocolate the moment I can, âkay?â
âIâll hold you to that.â
You felt perfectly normal when you woke up the next day, Ace passed out against your neck. Nothing that suggested anything strange had come from the chocolate. You tossed it out on your way to the dining hall, unimpressed even when Thatch appeared to present you with a plate.
âWe have chocolate?â you asked as you picked up the pastries.
âCouverture chocolate,â he corrected. âWhich I wasnât going to let you eat as a snack. But I made you something with it.â
You stared at him, mildly unimpressed though it did remind you.
âSpeaking of chocolate,â you said as you kicked out the seat across from you for him to take. âDo you know what you gave Ace yesterday?â
Thatch laughed as he sat down. âYou mean did I finally get rid of that thing thatâs been sitting in my galley for over a year now? I did warn him what it was, before you come accusing me of trying to trick him.â
âOh yeah? What did you say?â
âThat it was spiked and he said that was fine. Why?â
You sighed and took a bite of the pastry heâd offered you. It was good enough that you could imagine forgiving him. Not today but someday soon.
âHe thought you meant it had alcohol in it.â
Thatch looked like he was trying to fight back a laugh and you kicked at his shin under the table which he very unfairly dodged. âAh, well, are you really complaining?â
âYes,â you said. âYou should have told him.â
âThe label was still attached. I assumed one of you would read it before eating half the thing.â
âWhy do you look like youâre in such a mood?â Marco asked as he took the seat beside you. âAgain.â
âWhy do you look like you havenât slept the whole night?â you retorted.
He didnât answer the question. âI told you she wouldnât be impressed with you magically presenting chocolate.â
âThatâs not what sheâs upset about,â Thatch countered.
âHe drugged us,â you said.
Marcoâs attention immediately cut toward Thatch who threw up his hands in defence.
âHey, donât make it sound so bad! Ace found that old chocolate she bought ages ago. I warned him it wasnât normal chocolate but apparently, he didnât pass on the message.â
âHow much did you eat?â Marco asked.
âPractically nothing,â you said around a mouthful of breakfast. âA square.â
âAnd Ace?â
You paused. âLike half the bar. But he wasnât feeling any side effects so⌠Do you think it would make him sick?â
Marco shrugged. âSick? I doubt it, yoi. It was probably a novelty more than anything else. Iâll monitor him for today though, in case. Is he awake yet?â
âNope.â
âCould also be expired,â Thatch offered. âYou bought it ages ago.â
âFor your sake, I hope so.â
âYou canât blame this on me.â
âFunny because Iâm already doing that.â
Marco laid the back of his hand against your head and you leaned away from him with a glare. He took your wrist, pressing two fingers against your pulse.
âYouâre not showing any symptoms of overstimulation. Though it could have a delay. Just let me know if anything changes throughout the day.â
A sudden heat enveloped you from behind and Ace buried his face into your hair, stifling a yawn against you. He squeezed you once before he dropped into the seat next to you and looked up to realise the three of you were staring.
âUh⌠morning?â
âMorning,â Marco said. âAre you feeling okay, yoi?â
Ace blinked. He looked fine. He ran his fingers through his hair to push it back from his face.
âMe? Yeah, Iâm good.â
âIf it did expire, then itâs basically normal chocolate,â Thatch said and realisation dawned on Aceâs face at the topic of conversation.
âHis pupils are very dilated for normal chocolate,â Marco noted.
Now that he mentioned it, Aceâs pupils were⌠larger than youâd seen them before. Not worryingly so but enough that the usual oaken shade appeared distinctly darker.
And you couldnât even blame the lighting of the dining hall. The sky outside was brilliant blue and light shone through the windows in warming, comforting rays.
âYou told Marco about the chocolate?â Ace asked.
âJust in case it was dangerous or something and we had to have a trial for Thatch.â
Thatch rolled his eyes. âI canât be held responsible for this. I warned you it wasnât normal chocolate and you had a label. If you inhaled half of it before reading, itâs not my fault.â
âYou said it had alcohol,â Ace countered.
âNo, I said it was spiked,â he corrected. âI didnât say a word about it having alcohol. I thought she would recognise it, considering it was hers.â
âIf you die, Pops will know exactly who to blame,â Marco said flatly. âBut you should be fine. Just tell me if you start to experience anything uncomfortable. You ate far more of that stuff than youâre meant to at once.â
Ace nodded and reached for your plate. âThen why sell it as a whole bar?â
âMost people donât buy that sort of thing for one night,â Thatch said. âNot that you two need the encouragement.â
âI guess⌠hey, wait, this has chocolate in it.â
âIâve already complained,â you muttered. âApparently, it was not for snacking.â
Thatch groaned like a man standing under persecution. âYou wanted something with chocolate and I made you something with chocolate. Now youâre complaining about getting it?â
âYes.â
Everything felt fine until just after lunch when you were mending a sail. A flush of heat crawled over you, blossoming out from low in your stomach. You stiffened and adjusted your seat, the movement sending a pleasant tingle through you. Your heart pulsed uncomfortably behind your ribs.
You looked down at the thread in your hands and grimaced. Not expired then.
It was an ignorable sensation. The type of interest youâd felt before. One that would normally have you drag Ace away in the evening but wouldnât pay mind to right now.
But if this was what you were feelingâŚ
You stood and left the sail there, rolling your shoulders to try to shake some of the excitement from your fingers. The second division were meant to be on the deck today.
Only, there was a small problem with that plan.
âAh, theyâll be back within the hour,â Rakuyo said. âSome idiots were messing around on one of the islands near here.â
You gave him a sharp look, annoyed more than usual given the discomfort in your stomach. âSeriously?â
âHey, donât look at me,â he defended himself. âI didnât plan this. Aceâll handle it and be back before you even know it. Missing him already?â
You ground your teeth. âNo.â
âDid he do something?â
âNo.â
You marched down the stairs and into the infirmary, wincing faintly when a brush of warm air pressed against your skin. Your heartrate hadnât slowed yet. It was making you feel jittery and uncertain.
Marco was busy at his desk, pen scratching over something when you stormed in.
âWhyâd you send Ace out now?â
Marco looked at you over the top of his glasses. âI havenât sent Ace anywhere, yoi. Whatâs wrong?â
You gestured behind you as though that explained anything. âItâs not expired,â you said, voice softer in case anybody else was around. âAnd now heâs run off to handle some idiots elsewhere? Couldnât Vista have done that?â
âIs it affecting you then?â
You were silent for far too long before you answered. âMaybeâŚâ
âHow strong is it?â
You adjusted your weight. âDecently. Itâs manageable but uncomfortable. I feel like my heart is going a little fast. But I had one square.â
Marco sighed. âTechnically, he doesnât need my permission to attend to his own division. Weâll have to wait for him to come back to make sure itâs not causing him problems.â
You groaned. âGreatâŚâ
Waiting the hour made it far worse. Marco ordered you onto a bed in the infirmary for the period and the sheets scratched awfully against your skin. The smell of the medical supplies hurt your nose. You couldnât ignore anything. Every sound, every movement⌠it was all getting under your skin.
âItâll wear off,â Marco said. âYou can wait in your own cabin if youâd like.â
âIt feels like my heart wants to jump out my chest.â
âTry to avoid that. My healing is only so strong, yoi.â
The first sign the second division had returned was the thunder of boots overhead, followed by raised voices and the hard crackle of fire. You swung your legs off the bed before Marco had even pushed back his chair, leading the way toward the deck.
Ace looked fine. Mostly. He wasnât hurt but he kept shifting his weight, dragging his hand over the back of his neck or flexing his fingers. Flames danced over his skin constantly; flickering and flashing quickly. His grin was easy but he continued looking around, searching for something.
A member of the second division clapped him on the shoulder as he passed. âYou can stop looking for the next fight, Commander. Theyâre all gone.â
Ace laughed lightly. âWhat do you mean?â
He rolled the beads around his neck in his fingers and you glanced at Marco whose lips were pressed into a thin line. A spark of flame jumped from Ace toward a nearby rope, thankfully quickly patted out by somebody else.
You stepped forward and he looked to you almost immediately. He crossed the distance far too quickly for somebody attempting to look casual.
âHey,â he said. He stopped in front of you and rocked back on his heels. âAre you⌠feeling okay?â
His pupils were enormous. They made him look far too wired. He crossed his arms and then uncrossed them again. You could feel the heat from his skin, radiating like a furnace as the flames continued.
The warmth in your stomach curled.
âMostly,â you answered. âYou lookâŚ. energetic.â
âYeah, it was a bit of an intense fight,â he said.
Marco cleared his throat. âBecause of them or because of you, yoi?â
âWhatâs that supposed to mean?â
âDid you get hit?â
âWhat? No, Iâm fine. Itâs just a little warm.â
âSays the man made of fire?â Rakuyo asked from somewhere on the quarter deck. âAre you planning on extinguishing those flames?â
Ace looked down at his forearms as though he hadnât even realised he was still lit up. The fire flickered out. He smiled but it looked a little strained at the edges. You reached for his arm but the second your fingers brushed over him, he jolted away.
âNot now,â he muttered, offering you an apologetic smile.
The warmth was very inviting. Too inviting. You wanted to step closer and bury yourself in the heat radiating from his body.
âHeâs just worked up because they got away!â somebody yelled.
âAlright,â Marco said and he moved between both of you. He met your eyes. âAce is coming for a check up in the infirmary and youâre going to go sleep it off in his cabin.â
âIs something wrong with you?â Ace asked, concern immediately bleeding into his tone.
âNothing that canât be solved with rest, yoi,â Marco said.
Despite how much more you wanted to do the exact opposite; you forced yourself to step away from Ace. It probably was better to put distance between you. Before you forgot you were standing in the middle of the deck.
Already, it was feeling like a rather unimportant consequence.
Rakuyo whistled. âThis is getting really bad, Marco. Start putting them on opposite ends of the ship until they remember how to survive an hour apart.â
Fossa hummed in agreement. âOne hour and theyâre both this twitchy.â
You threw a rude gesture at both of them for the teasing before you took Marcoâs instructions to heart. You stepped away, making your way back into the underbelly of the Moby Dick.
The passage below deck was cooler, the dim air a soothing balm after the glare above. By the time you reached Aceâs cabin, though, the heat had already gathered beneath your skin again. You shoved the windows open and leaned into the salt wind, letting it drag over your face and throat as though it could pull some of the tension from your body.
It was nearly twenty minutes before the door opened behind you.
Ace stepped inside and closed it carefully. âMarco says neither of us is dying.â
âGood.â
You closed the distance and sealed your mouth against his. He made a muffled sound against your lips.
If every other scent had been annoying you, his was addictive. The faint burnt wood that clung to him was mouth-watering and you broke the kiss to trail kisses over his throat; nipping at the skin there and drawing soft pants from him, his hands tightening hard around your hips.
âMar â Marco said we should be resting,â he muttered out.
âGood for Marco,â you mumbled, rejoining your lips to his.
Ace turned and your back hit the door with a thump. His tongue pressed into your mouth, his skin almost scorching where it met yours. He kissed you like he had been holding his breath since the deck, hands dragging beneath your shirt until you tore it over your head. Bare skin met his chest and the contact punched a soft moan from you.
He had never struggled to be vocal, but this was something else. Every breath broke against your mouth in a groan, low and rough enough that you felt it vibrate through his chest.
You buried your fingers in his hair, grip tightening as one of his legs pressed between your own and you rolled down against his thigh, pleasure sparking through you. The hour of denial had wound you far too tight. You had to fight to keep your thoughts.
You pulled away and he followed, mouth dropping to your collarbones in hungry, open-mouthed kisses.
You ground against him again and your hand trailed down his chest to find where his cock strained against his shorts. The moment you brushed against him, his breath broke against your skin and his hips jerked into your palm. You fought the button for a moment before you got him free. He was burning up, skin clammy and feverish against you.
âAce,â you muttered and he lifted his head from your chest.
âYeah?â
âI canât believe you went out to fight instead of fucking me earlier.â
âI didnât know it was going to take effect,â he protested. âHow was I meant to know your sex chocolate was so strong.â
You dragged your hand over his cock and rolled your thumb over the head, smearing precum over your fingers as he groaned. He folded into your neck, hips pushing into your grip as your own rocked against his thigh. Each slow stroke pulled another rough sound from him and fed the ache between your legs.
Fuck, you really were worked up. Your breaths came in short bursts and your head thudded against the door.
Ace groaned against your skin, hand moving from your hip to brace himself behind your head, fingers fanning out as he pressed closer to your body. Your wrist was at an awkward angle but you moaned softly at the shift against your core.
You sped up the pumps of your hand, squeezing as you reached his tip. His groans against your throat turned desperate.
He pulled the fabric of your bra down, causing the straps to slide off your shoulders as he closed his mouth around your nipple. You nearly whined at the sudden heat of his mouth. The sensation went straight between your legs. Your thighs clenched tightly around him, your strokes shaking as you struggled to focus.
But he was close. You could feel it in the shake of his breath and you paused your grinding to turn your attention to him. It normally took a lot more than this to get him anywhere near the edge but you supposed the chocolate had some benefits.
His thighs tensed beneath you and his grip tightened hard enough to sting, every breath breaking shorter against your throat.
Ace leaned back and groaned your name, the rest of his sentence cutting off when his hips suddenly stuttered.
Warmth flowed over your hand and you stilled, lowering your head to meet his gaze. You giggled and kissed him loosely, his tongue tangling with yours. His breath was almost burning in your mouth and you hummed.
âYou did that on purpose,â he muttered when you shifted away.
âI did,â you admitted. âBut Iâll make it up to you. Besides, you ate half that bar. Thereâs no way one roundâs going to be enough.â
You nudged him back until you could sink to your knees. Ace swallowed and you stared up at him, smiling innocently before you ran your tongue up the underside of his cock. A broken groan caught in his throat, turning into something needy as your lips moved over the tip.
You let your tongue trace the mess from his skin before taking him into your mouth again. Salt and the scent of him thickened the ache between your legs.
The effort gave some direction to your frustration. Ace groaned, hand tangling in your hair as you moved.
His cock bumped the back of your throat and you looked up at him through your lashes. You slid back and then forward again, drool gathering in the corners of your mouth as you took him deeper, relishing in the slight ache in your jaw.
Aceâs hand tightened in your hair, not guiding, only holding on as if he needed somewhere to put the tension. Heat pulsed beneath your palm where it rested against his thigh, climbing with every broken sound you pulled from him.
A bitter, singed smell cut through the haze just as Ace took a sharp step back. You blinked at the sudden loss of him before you noticed the flames tearing over his skin.
âI⌠sorry,â he muttered. âJust need a second.â
You slowly got up. The arousal in your stomach twisted uncomfortably but you ignored it. âEverything okay?â
âYeah,â he said, clearly focused on breathing. âSorry about your hair.â
âMyâŚ?â
You reached up slowly to find a few strands twisted and curled. Oh. That was the smell.
You laughed and stood up. âYou set me on fire?â
âMaybe.â
The flames seemed to be calming now though the burning in your stomach certainly wasnât. You leaned back against the door and let your hand slip between your legs. The first brush over your clit tore a gasp from you.
Fuck. It felt so good, better than it should have. Heat pooled through the room despite the open windows, caught in the cramped space with the smell of salt, smoke and him. All the friction from earlier had left you soaked, and you dipped your fingers beneath your bottoms to roll over your clit again.
âYouâre being cruel,â Ace accused.
You opened one eye to look at him and purposefully pitched your next moan a little higher. âGuess you have to get those flames under control faster,â you breathed out. âOtherwise, you might miss it.â
His gaze dropped to your hand and stayed there, jaw tight as another line of fire crawled over his shoulder. You would have chuckled if not for the small whine that escaped instead.
âAce,â you moaned, his name catching in your throat.
âI know,â he said. âIâm getting there.â
You let your mouth fall open, eyes slipping closed as you chased the feeling. Your clothes suddenly felt unbearable and you shoved them down, unhooked your half-on bra and let it fall beside you. You pressed two fingers into your pussy, whimpering around the sensation. It wasnât enough of a stretch but when you curled them just right â
Hands hooked beneath your thighs before you could take another breath. Your shoulders pressed to the door with a stuttered gasp and Ace sealed his mouth against yours in a devouring kiss. His skin stung where it pressed against yours, almost painful at every point of contact.
It felt like he was trying to push you through the door with how hard he held you against it. The hard line of his cock dragged against you as he crowded closer. He lifted you higher, never breaking the kiss once.
Your lungs burned hotter than the air around you.
You reached between your bodies, caught the base and guided him until the head pressed at your entrance.
The stretch alone almost sent you over and you leaned your head back to catch your breath, barely stopping your climax before it rolled over you. His nails dug into the undersides of your thighs as he pulled you flush against him.
âHow do you feel even better than I remember?â
âBecause you ate sex chocolate,â you muttered.
âNo,â Ace said, firmly enough that you looked back at him. âThatâs you. You always feel so good.â
You kissed him before he could say anything else, fingers knotting in his hair. The first pull of his hips left you aching around the loss. When he drove back in, your moan tangled with his, and the next thrust followed before either of you had caught your breath.
His name fell from your lips as he dropped his head, mouth finding your pulse point in a way that was definitely going to leave a mark. Your legs trembled and you hooked them around him, the position driving each push of his hips deeper.
He shifted one arm more securely beneath you, the other braced against the door as he gave a strong, solid thrust that ground the base of his cock against your clit.
Spots danced over your vision as your fingers tightened in his hair; whining moans that you couldnât control filling the air. The fire was back on Aceâs shoulders now and you forced yourself to let go, smothering the small flames as he took on a much faster pace. His hips shoved against your own and you groaned.
âYouâre smouldering,â you warned him.
âDonât care,â he muttered.
His next thrust shook through you and your nails bit into his shoulders, ideas of smothering the flames vanishing at once.
You really werenât going to last much longer. Not with this pace and the delicious grind against your aching clit. Your thighs trembled around him, back arching as you drew closer. You felt tears beading in your eyes as your breaths turned panting. Â
Then the tension snapped.
Your shoulders tore away from the door as pleasure clenched hard through your stomach, pulse after pulse dragging a broken cry from you. You smothered it against the back of your hand while your body tightened around him.
Aceâs hips didnât even stutter. Your heart was pounding in your ears, loud enough that you could barely make out what he was muttering against your neck. You tugged his hair to get him to move his head back, kissing him hard the second he did. He groaned into your mouth, thrusts growing almost punishing.
You squeezed yourself around him and he groaned, low and rough. The friction was working you well into the realm of overstimulation.
The flames were growing higher now, his hold around you tight enough to bruise. Your body was singing at every sensation, fireworks sparking under your skin in a trembling mix of pain and pleasure. You broke away from the kiss, forehead leaning against his own.
âAce,â you whimpered.
âNearly there,â he said. âPromise. Just a little bit more.â
You whined desperately, clenching hard around him.
He kissed you again in response, hips stuttering against yours one more time before he buried himself against you. The kiss turned lazy and messy as he rode out his climax, tongues pressing sloppily together between panting breaths.
Ace pushed away from the door, walking you both the short distance to the bed before he lowered you down and pulled out, falling onto his back at your side.
A spark of fire landed on the pillow and you lazily patted it out with your palm.
âFeeling better?â you asked.
âYeah,â he said. âYou okay?â
You hummed and shifted closer, curling up against his side. His skin at least felt somewhat cooler than the near scorching heat from before. âVery much so. Iâm starting to think that chocolate wasnât too bad of a purchase.â
âIâll try a normal amount next time,â he mumbled. âSo, I donât feel like tearing off my own skin.â
âYou can always tear off my clothes instead. Much better option.â
Ace chuckled softly and pulled you against him, face buried in your hair. âGive me like five minutes first.â
âOnly five?â
âMm. Youâve only had one. Thatâs not fair.â
You smiled against his chest. âYouâre planning another round?â
âDefinitely.â
âYouâre sure?â
âFive minutes,â he repeated, already sounding far too comfortable. âThen Iâll prove it.â
His breathing evened out before a minute had passed.
You lifted your head and found him completely asleep, mouth parted slightly and one arm still wrapped possessively around you. You stared at him for a moment before poking his cheek.
You sighed and settled back against him.
If nothing else, your mood was considerably better than it had been the day before.
đĽ~â Sparks being horny on main?? No but seriously theres a bit of angst and some illness description here, goes into horny smut (first smut on the blogđĽł, bit nervous guysđ), readers genitals are described neutrally/not too in depth? I dont know how to explain that lol,
A week before the disbandment of the Roger Pirates.
The Oro Jackson was anchored by the docks of Water Seven, the city of steel and grand vessels was bustling with activity. Repairs were being done to the Oro Jackson after a stray cannon blast had damaged a good chunk of the hull, and Tom had been reuniting with his old shipwright coworkers and catching up with them about the adventures he'd had since he left Water Seven to become the Roger pirates shipwright.
Buggy and Shanks had been causing mischief at port, stealing tools from open toolboxes (âbecause seriously, who just leaves that stuff out in the open? It's begging to be stolen!â - Buggy, probably), and then lobbing them from the top of scaffolding, trying to hit a poorly drawn target on the floor with Shanks only to end up dropping one on Gaban, which caused the axe weirder to grin and shout up at them to find heavier tools if their going to drop it on someone.
And then 2am hits.
It was the same time every night that you would hear those poorly concealed coughs, the hacking from the deck that seemed to make you wake up every single night. It was like clockwork, ever since the crew had found the one piece, youâd noticed your captain deteriorating rapidly.
It had started off subtle at first, a cough every now and then, only for Roger to make some sort of joke about it being because of not having enough liquids, just as an excuse to raid another marine outpost and get shitfaced with the crew on rum. Someone had to keep the marines on their toes and itâs not like they werenât constantly pursuing the crew these days anyways since Roger became pirate king. Slowly but surely, it had gotten worse, youâd always share a side glance to Rayleigh or Gaban whenever youâd see Roger stagger, only to grab the doorway and grin.
âJust losing my footing, we arenât getting any younger after all!â
Tonight was no different, that stubborn stubborn man was out on deck, probably by himself again to get some quiet respite. Seems like Roger has forgotten just how much the crew gives a shit about himâŚhow much you care about him. Ever since heâd picked you up, literally when you had peacefully been doing your job in the underground bar in water seven, and dragged you into the torrent of his nonsense.
â
You remembered it like it was yesterday, that wide grin and Rayleigh and Gaban flanking his sides as the rookie pirate captain barreled into the Iron Nail, you had been working there for a few years, dealing with the loan sharks and unruly shipwrights that frequented the place consistently. Roger's hair had been slightly singed, his coat smelled of gunpowder and obviously there had been a lot of cannon fire from the scrapes, burns and scratches that were on the new crew.
âYâknow, I don't think Iâve ever had food this good in yearsâ
Roger had said, his arms rested on the booth, that glint of mischief in his eyes.
âSay, you ever wanted to see the seas? Turn the world upside down and see what you can find out there?â
âIs⌠is this a sales pitch?â
You canât help but sputter, because seriously, who just walks into a bar and decides that the first person who serves them food, they can try to convince them to join their crew? You had met bold pirates before, usually ones that shipwrights loyal to heavy discounts would help to boot out if they became too much trouble for you.
âOnly if its workingâ
The pirate fucking WINKS at you, the audacity of this damn guy.
And shit. It did work, because youâd ended up grabbing some berriâs from the cash register and high tailing it out of there with them, yelping as Roger had picked you up when you had started to lag behind and throwing you over his shoulder.
âYou! Damnit, let me down! I can run!â
Roger? Well he had just laughed at you.
âNot fast enough to keep up with us, cook!â
Some of the old loan sharks that had been stalking the bar because the owner owed them money had been planning to take you hostage in order to get their money back, and the fools actually tried.
âHah! Iâve been itching for a fightâ Gaban had roared as he had drawn both of his axe blades, sprinting into two of them and shoulder barging them down so they dropped into the canals.
âMake sure to leave some for ME!â Roger had ended up just dropping you, much to your annoyance as you landed flat on your ass, and he charged with his straw hat swinging behind him, his blade drawn as haki started to crackle around it, throwing a loan shark through one of the wooden scaffolding of a shipwrights current project. Rayleigh had adjusted his glasses on the bridge of his nose before joining in, a grin plastered across his face as he drew his blade. And wellâŚ
You couldn't not join on the fight as you had grabbed one of the nearby tool kits that had been left behind on the docks, probably whilst the shipwrights were having a smoke break, rifling through before picking up one of the hammers and joining in with Rayleigh.
â
Years had passed, years of chaos and fun and even the rare moments that had made you wish that you had stayed at that damn old bar.
But you wouldnât trade it for the world, Roger had given you a life of freedom and well, you did sometimes have to smack your captain with a ladle when he tried to eat some of the bread whilst it was still goddamn proving, the guy seemed like as long as it was edible, or well even inedible and closely resembled food, that heâd try and snag some before it was done. âCaptain privilegesâ he had joked one time.
Food was the way to this man's heart, and you found yourself with an infatuated pirate captain that had went down on his knees and dramatically begged you to make some barbecue, you had only agreed because you'd gotten a favour out of it.
One that you definitely hadn't used against him weeks later when Roger tried to propose the idea of going to murder volcano death island. YeahâŚ.no.
You loved him, but there's only so much bullshit you could take, and how hot that island would be? That was not one of them.
It had started slow, the blossoming of your relationship. RogerâŚwell, he had the subtly of a literal wrecking ball with everything he did. But relationships? Whole different ballpark, he was still obvious as shit. It wasn't hard to figure out he liked you when his face would flush when you got too close during meals, or when you leaned against him that one time after fighting against some of the whitebeard pirates because you were tired and he was right there.
Roger hadn't moved that night, he just kind of froze up before glaring at Rayleigh and Gaban when Rayleigh had just outright laughed at him and Gaban had told him to stop pussyfooting around.
âListen, im just sayingâ
Gaban starts as he takes another swig of his bottle and points a finger at Roger.
âYouve gotta tell them, really, im the master of love, the mentor of love if you will. They'll like you back, it's obvious. You don't get that kind of trust if they didn't like you back.â
âIt's true. They seem to fold to your food requests very easily. Last time i tried to reccomend something I got told to fuck offâ Rayleigh pipes up with a grin plastered on his face.
âThat's just because I'm the captainâ Roger tries, only to feel your head resting back against his chest, he ends up pulling some of his crimson coat around you, making sure you weren't cold.
Rayleigh and Gaban just share a side glance.
âOi, you two. Stop itâ
Roger grumbles out
âTheir cold. What else am I supposed to do?"
âŚWhat a weak excuse.
The next day? Roger had just bit the bullet and asked you out outright, he may aswell, nothing to lose. Well, actually he didn't think he'd recover if he lost you. But stillâŚ
Gaban had grumbled when he had handed over the berri's to Rayleigh. The axe wielder had thought that Roger would confess the next week rather than right away.
â
But now, that light in Roger may still be there, but it was definitely being eaten away at. You hadnât gone with them to find the one piece that day, too busy making sure that Buggy actually ate the damn soup that youâd made him, youâd tried to mask the taste of the medicine that Crocus had put within the soup, your cooking seemed to be the only goddamn way that Buggy would accept help during that period of sickness. Shanks hadnât left the other cabin boys side, both of them stuck together like glue.
You pull on some socks and fasten your boots as you get out of your shared bed in the captain's quarters. It wasn't exactly hard to figure out when Roger was on deck, for one? You couldn't hear the guys snoring, and for two? You didn't feel that broad warm chest pressed against your back. Roger usually stayed up during the nights when the crew had been injured or sick. Staying guard on the deck to make sure no rival or marine crew dared to even try and attack.
It was time to pay that favour back.
Your captain was the sick one now, sick in a way that even your food couldn't perk him up with, thatâs how you knew it was bad, Roger had played sick before to get special treatment in his meals, well, until you had asked if Crocus could put some of the bitterroot he used to treat fevers in the food and suddenly your captain had immediately perked up and decided that he wasnât as sick as he led you to believe. He needed you all and it seemed like you needed to get it through Rogers thick skull that he should stop being a stubborn fuck and stop shouldering this alone.
The deck of the Oro Jackson was quiet, the wind was cold and curled across the deck like the phantom breath on a ghost ship. It wasn't ideal for someone with a deteriorated condition like Roger to be out in such weather.
There on the deck was your captain, that long crimson coat was rested on his shoulders, his arms were crossed and rested on the railing, his face set in a serious expression as he looks out to the sea, those broad shoulders trembling slightly as you can hear the ragged wheeze that erupts from his throat.
It hurt, to see him like this.
All good things come to an end eventually, it was a fact of life, a fact that many who drain this world of positivity cling to in order to justify their actions, but you believed that maybe just maybeâŚthis could last just a bit longer, just a bit more, you could see the look in Rogerâs distant gaze, your captain was debating something, something that was hard for him to think about, let alone consider. But captains make hard decisions for the crew, even if it hurts the crew, he knows. Despite his usual carefree personality, Roger has made hard decisions, heâs lost people, he's regretted fights he's won, he's seen horrors beyond comprehension in this world, heâs fought for his life, his freedom. Whatever choice he makes? The crew may protest, Rayleigh and Gaban definitely will, you probably will, but you know that Roger would never make a cruel decision, not if it didnât benefit you all in the long run.
Once Rogers mind was made up? There was no changing it, and you had to respect that, not just as a crew member⌠but as his partner, as someone who had stuck by him for years and seen the good, the injured and the bad sides of him. He wasnât perfect, no one is when they live on these seas.
âRogerâ
You drop the title, it's not needed in moments like this, it didnât feel right, not when you were alone together. You werenât captain and cook in this moment, no.
â__, I didnât expect you to be out here, go back to sleep, Iâm fineâ
âWell, thatâs a bunch of horse shit and you know itâ
That gets a raspy bark of laughter out of Roger and he gives you a lopsided smile, before doubling over into another coughing fit, blood sputters from his mouth, staining his lips red, his hand grips the railing tighter and you quickly move to his side, placing a hand on his arm.
âYou always could see through my bullshitâ
âRoger-â
âI know-â
âRogerâ
âIâm alright-â
You cut him off.
âRoger! Damnit let me get a sentence out. You're not alright, im not an idiotâ
âi knowâŚâ
You usher your captain over towards one of the empty storage crates by the nets on the starboard side of the Oro Jackson, tugging your captain's arm over your shoulder and feeling that crimson coat curl around you. Even with how cold it was, the captain radiated a feverish warmth.
âYouâre hotâ
âIâm flatteredâ
âStop itâ
You glare but canât help but feel a smile tug at your own lips as you help Roger sit on the crate.
âSeriously, get this off, you're overheatingâ
You knew you were fussing over a man that was perfectly capable of taking care of himselfâŚwell, until you remember that literally every avenue Roger took led to getting himself injured or into ridiculous situations.
Roger grunts as you yank at the lapels of his coat open, you were so used to seeing this man run around shirtless even in the relentless cold of Elbaf. It was more of him wearing his coat that surprised you. Everyone on this crew had seen each other naked at least once in their damn lives, when you fight side by side until you're exhausted and barely moving, you usually collapse into the first hot spring you can find without a care if anyone sees you naked.
âItâs cold enough out here to get your temperature down, you're sweating more than when Garp chased after us with a full arsenal of cannon balls under his armâ
âHey!â Roger protests, but lets you slip the coat from his broad soldiers, your captains chest was a constellation of scars from old and new battles, some had turned white against his skin with age and well⌠bodged healing, Roger never stayed still long enough to truly rest.
âYou know damn well that you were running too!â
âWell it's not my fault that old bastard is a damn bloodhoundâ
âGood job that Iâve got you thenâ
Roger slumps back against the railing near the crate, leaning all of his weight on it, his chest heaves as he goes into another coughing fit, it racks through him and you can practically see his shoulders jolt slightly from strain. You shift forward and move your hand to his bicep.
âRoger?â
Shit⌠Do you go get Crocus? Rayleigh? Gaban?
âJust⌠stay a while loveâ
Roger rasps out and you sigh as you sit next to him on the crate, the pitch black sails of the Oro Jackson provide a constant ambience, the creaking of the boards under you both and the snoring from the cabins below where the others slept. The waves lap against the hull of the boat and there's distant cannon fire from rival crews trading shots, or marine crews chasing down another quickly rising pirate or warlord. Roger has never been one who could stand silence for long though, you could see it in his expression as his jaw is clenched, trying to come up with something in that mind that never seemed to stop running. Before he can say anything though? You speak up.
âItâs getting worse, isnât it Roger?â
ââŚYesâ
You decide to bite the bullet and just ask. You knew he'd never lie to you.
âWhat were you thinking about earlier?â
Roger breathes out through his nose and he moves his arm to drape over your shoulder, pulling you close to his side, wrapping his arm around you. You can hear the uneven thump of his heart, how it stutters every now and then.
âI thinkâŚthat its time i let them go. I canât let them be tied down to me when Iâm like thisâ
Roger keeps his gaze out at the sea, a small grin tugging at his lips.
âThey have so much left to explore, to fight, to drink and to live. Thereâs so much in this world. Especially for Shanks and Buggy, they have to spread their wings and get out and find their own crews. Maybe they might even get a greater one than mineâ
Roger looks down at you, smiling crookedly.
âA better cook than my crew though? Thatâs impossible, no one can top your cooking. This crews been spoiled that i donât think theyâll find good food againâ
He then sighs and keeps his arm around your waist.
âI don't want your last memories of me to beâŚa slow death. Itâs not what I want⌠it's not what any of you deserve, to see me waste away.â
You had expected that, the whole point of this crew was to have freedom. Fate had brought all of you together, it had tied you to the storm of a man that seemed to drag everyone into his orbit with that damn grin and the intelligence that he usually kept hidden. Roger should be given the chance to leave this world how he wants to, with his own path, you knew that he wouldnât let this illness take him, heâd probably find some dramatic way to go out. Probably by handing himself in or some other nonsense like that.
But you werenât going to let him believe that he was a burden, no, he can make his own decisions but you were there for him, you would be there until the end, even if he disbands, he should know by now that you're too stubborn to not stick by his side.
âŚThrough sickness and health, that's the oath you had taken. The oath both of you had taken.
âThen how do you want me to remember you Roger?â You ask, leaning against his side more.
Rogers knuckles turn white as he rasps out another cough and his grip tightens on the railing. His gaze, as tired as those dark eyes were, shifts down to you and softens, a playful grin tugging at his lips.
âWellâŚhow about you help me go out with a bang?â
âA bang?â You raise an eyebrow, because well, as much as the innuendo was obvious you never knew with your boyfriend, he was about as reckless as ever, going out with a bang could mean helping him light up a cannon and firing something (or someone) towards a stray marine ship or a damn random ass island.
âYâknow, the devils tango? Knock boots? Doing taxes?â
âYou did not just refer to sex as doing taxesâ
âI did, hey, it's not my fault. Gaban always says that heâs doing laundry when he sneaks off whenever we dock at another portâ
âŚ
âŚ
âŚ
âYouâre so shameless Rogerâ
Roger just tips his head back and laughs, grinning wider as he leans down to your ear and rasps out, âThatâs captain shameless to youâ, he then pauses
ââŚIs that a yes though?â
âThats a yes, c'mon old manâ
âHah?! Old man? Iâll have you know that i have the exact stamina i did when we were younger, if not moreâ
âOh do you now? Well Mr Stamina, how about you try and get back to your room on your own?â You grin as you start to move away from where your helping to support Roger by him half leaning against him and move to grab his coat from the deck.
âHey! I-⌠fine, alright, I admit Iâm old in some ways, but I can always keep up with you. Just⌠help me get to bed?â
It's a vulnerable ask from a man that would rather take a full force galaxy impact from Garp than lose his independence⌠It shows just how tired heâs getting and well, it's a bit ridiculous to have a 9ft pirate king leaning on you for support, but your boots hit the wood in tandem as you move towards your shared quarters.
You splay your fingers across Rogers chest as you gently push him back so he lands flat on his back on the bed, and then climb into his lap.
âWell this is new, am I not allowed to be on top of you this time?â Roger just grins, before he watches you grab one of the straw pillows and make a motion for him to sit up.
âRoger, youâve almost collapsed like three times in the past thirty minutes. I am not having you crush me. Now, sit your ass upâ
âHah? Why, itâll be fine like this, besides your strongâ
âI am, but not enough if you collapse on me you dickhead. Besides being flat on your back might make you cough more and i dont need you to have a coughing fit whilst I make you breathlessâ
Rogers eyes widen slightly, before that stupid grin when the pirate king gets flustered quirks at his lips, his cheeks flushing as he places his rough calloused hands, scarred from years of using barely restrained haki from his blade, on either side of your waist.
ââŚyes captainâ
You just snort and grin,
âShut up, now sit upâŚCabin boyâ
âCabin boy?! Out of all things?!â
âHey, could have been worse, you could be on latrine dutyâ
Roger just grimaces, before looking at you as he sits up, he feels you put the straw pillow behind his back.
âI love you __, more than anything on these seasâ
âI love you too Rogerâ
You lean forward and place your thighs either side of Rogers waist, before pressing your lips to Rogers, trying not to smile as you feel those moustache hairs brush against your top lip.
Roger is a damn good kisser, he's always passionate and eager. Maybe a bit clumsy as his teeth always end up biting your lips every now and then.
âEager aren't you Roger?â
âFor you? Always, can never get enough of youâ Rogers hands slides up from your waist to under your shirt.
âLaying on the praise thick tonight, aren't you?â
âWell if im on my back then I may as well try and get in your good gracesâ
âOh?â
âIs it working?â
âAbsolutley notâ
âDamnâ
You just laugh and start to trace your hand over Roger's chest, before leaning down and licking a strip of his chin before starting to move your hand down to his abs and then rest your hand just above his belt. You press a few kisses to a scar across the right side of Rogersâ abs.
âYou really like those huh?â Roger asks, a lopsided grin on his face as he stays lent back on the bed. He starts to kick his boots off with his feet and nudges them off the bed with his foot.
âYou got them from saving me, so yeah, of course I like themâ You say and pull your hand away
âHey, I got it, keep your hands on the goods loveâ Roger grins as he moves your hand back to where it was, he reaches behind you and starts to unfasten your boots, before tossing them off the bed next to where his own boots had fallen.
You start to work on his belt, you can feel whenever another coughing fit is coming as Rogers chest trembles slightly, every now and then you stop. Undressing each other has always started off slowâŚuntil you both got impatient and decided that clothes were way too restricting and you needed them off now.
Both of your trousers and underwear lay discarded on the floor. Roger had his head rested back against the pillow, and god, Roger had the biggest shit eating grin on his face as he coated his fingers in his saliva and crooked those thick fingers inside you. You'd done this a lot over the years with him by now, but christ, it never gets easier to get used to as your back arches.
âThere we go, you look so good taking me in loveâ
Roger murmurs against your neck as his warm breath brushes against your skin.
âIt's unfair really, it's ridiculous how tall you are for one, and for two, it's ridiculous how big your cock isâ You grin back, between soft moans when Roger slides another finger inside and starts to crook them together inside of you. When your head tilts back, Roger licks a strip up your neck and you shudder.
âWell it's not my fault that I got so tall,â Roger grins. âBesides, you've never complained beforeâ
You are about to snap back with another smartass comment when Rogers fingers start to pick up a rhythm and you have to rest your head on your shoulder with how fast he starts to pump them inside you, he can hear the moans slip through your lips.
âG-ghk~ Rogerâ
âThere we go, god you take me so well __. Such a nice voice you got though, soothes me more than the wavesâ
You just let out a breathless laugh, your hips twitch and you feel your insides clench around Rogers fingers.
âF-fuck, cmonâ
âAlright, alrightâ
Roger takes his fingers out of you and grins as he makes a show of licking the slick off of his fingers, making your cheeks burn. But god, as your eyes shift down so you can actually position yourself, you can see how the great pirate kings thick cock is straining, Roger had a damn good libido and he got hard and leaking from just fingering you. It was always easy to excite the pirate.
As you sink down on his cock, you can feel it twitch inside of you and Rogers head rests back against the pillow, both of his hands moving up to your waist fast, gripping like you're the only thing keeping him tethered to this world.
âF-fuckâ
You just laugh as you finish sinking down on him, feeling how full you are, god it's good, like a constant heat low in your gut and every small shift of adjustment in position is like a wildfire. Seeing Roger lose control as his hips are already starting to rock back up against you is intoxicating. You've barely started to ride him, its pathetic~
You start a steady rhythm, which quickly dissolves into a sloppy rhythm of Roger desperately thrusting up into you as you stay in his lap.
Roger is loud during sex, and well, thankfully most of the crew sleep deeply but jesus christ. The way that Roger would just keep a grip on your thighs, leaving marks, he can't help it, you just feel so good around him.
âFuck, __. I love you so much, finding you was the best thing that ever happened to meâ Roger rasps out, another groan slipping from his lips as he feels you tighten around him.
You rock back down against him and let out a breathless laugh mixed with a moan.
âLove you too Rogerâ
It barely takes a few more desperate thrusts before you cum, Roger always liked making you finish first, then he could just fully focus on chasing the high that he needed as he spills into you, his cock twitching inside you as he keeps your ass flush against him.
Roger looks disheveled, well, he does anyway these days, but even so more now as he's just been rode to hell and back.
âFeed a crew, ride the captain?â
Roger grins tiredly, for as much as he claims to have stamina, he knows when he's at his limit, and in a single round you can destroy him to no end. Though, a single round with Roger can last atleast an hour or two.
You just laugh and shift, mourning the loss of Roger's cock inside of you, but you get off of his lap, legs shaking slightly from the exertion of riding him for so long. You just put your head against his chest and Roger wraps his arm around your middle back, pulling you closer towards him and resting his chin on top of your head.
Another raspy cough erupts from Rogers mouth and his chest trembles slightly from exertion and his illness mixed together. You stay by his side.
â...I'm not leaving you⌠i told you that id stick with you til the endâ
â....I don't think you'll like the end I have plannedâ
âI never willâŚbut Iâm not letting you go through this alone. In sickness and health remember?â
âIn sickness and health.â Roger confirms and presses his lips to your forehead.
âI'm glad fate brought me to you __â
â...Im glad tooâŚI just wish that it didn't take you away from meâ
âAll good things come to an end eventuallyâŚâ
â...Eventually I guess they have toâŚI just thought I'd have more time with youâ
You pause for a good minute, closing your eyes. Safe in your captain's arms.
Hey! I love your writing style! I was wondering if you could write a romantic Sanji and Luffy (and maybe Chopper PLATONICALLY) head canons with an S/O who has ARFID? If you arenât comfortable writing disorders, S/O can just be an overly picky eater. Iâve been struggling to eat lately :(
Anyway, thanks! Have a nice day and remember to drink a lot of water!
đĽ~â Im glad that you enjoy my writing, Thank you! Although i do not have AFRID, i have read up on it to try and understand the condition in order to expand my understanding. However, i will probably be drifting between things i have read and general picky eater headcanons so i hope that this is okay. Please take care of yourself and remember that something is better than nothing and that you are valid and worth care no matter what anyone tries to say about you and what you eat!~â
â Sanji wants your tastes and safe foods to be accommodated for, if you like the taste of something but hate the texture then he will try different techniques in order to change the texture or alter way that the food item is cooked so you can eat it,
â Sanji will always tell you exactly what hes putting in your food, and how hes going to cook it for you,
â Sanji knows that if you like something done in a specific way then he will turn you into his assistant chef and he'll watch how you prepare it, after the first few times, Sanji will then try a crack at it, but not before asking permission,
"__, You can watch me do it if you're nervous, but I'd like to try making it for you this time, if that's alright?"
â Sanji knows that your hesitant but he lets you observe, and then, it comes to a point where Sanji can make your safe foods and even introduce new foods and you'll trust him, it fills him with so much warmth that you trust him with something so important to you,
â Sanji keeps a detailed scrap of paper thats pinned to the kitchen cork board, with exactly which foods you continously eat and are comfortable with, just so he knows what to refer to when hes substituting ingredients into his dishes for you,
â Sanji has eaten a lot of food, and if he does make something new then he will take a bite and then say exactly what it tastes like and hell describe the texture, Sanji will offer you a bite but he will never pressure you if you dont want something,
â Sanji knows when you're having a hard day with food, he'll always end up bringing you into his arms and holding you as he makes sure to praise you,
"Easy love, you did so well, its alright. I promise that its okay if you dont like something, or if you cant eat the rest of something. Take it easy, you shouldn't punish yourself for something you can't control"
â Chopper does sometimes get very worried about you, he always tries to make sure that you're getting enough vitamins through the foods that you do like,
â Chopper will offer a few solutions, he'll defintley try to make a small concoctions that could help with any deficiencies that you may have,
â Chopper will always ask you in order to get your permission to put the mixture in your food, he made sure that the solution doesnt taste of anything and is in liquid or solid form depending on your preferences,
"I'm sure that Sanji wont mind adding this to your meals as long as he knows you've given me permission! It wont be in every meal, just one every now and then if your checkups reveal any deficiencies"
â Chopper understands, he has vast medical knowledge and he will never invalidate your feelings, he will always try and find alternate routes to make sure you are happy and healthy and he always gets really excited whenever he figures out new ways to help you,
â Luffy notices when you don't like something, he takes count of everyone's preferences, mainly because hes always trying to figure out what he can steal from his crews plates,
â Luffy is very protective of food choices, he will defintley stand up for you if anyone tries to judge your choices and habits when eating,
"Hey! __ doesn't like that, stop trying to force them to eat it"
â If its a type of food that you've never eaten before, Luffy will defintley take a seperate piece and eat it and it will just be beamed into his mind of whether he knows you will like it or not,
â Luffy knows that certain textures and tastes will either always make you make a face or just avoid, so if he ever eats something which has that feel or taste? He'll just shake his head at you and put his thumb down if its not a texture you'll like,
â Luffy will absolutley eat something if you tried it and didn't like it, he doesn't want you to feel guilty for not finishing it, so he tries to remove that guilt,
â Luffy understands hating specific things, the captain of the strawhat pirates despises Cherry pie, like vehemently,
â The way that Luffy understands your condition is that most of the things that he may like tastes to you like how Cherry pie tastes to him,
â Luffy will ask a lot of questions, hell try to understand, hes always knows when it comes to his crew, Zoro hates chocolate so Luffy usually just eats that,
â If Luffy knows that you love and stick to a specific thing consistently then he will defintley ask Sanji for another portion and just walk over to you and place it infront of you if you want seconds but don't want to ask for seconds,
"Hey, this tastes like __, I think youd like it!"
â Luffy always subtly (not at all subtly) tries to get you to eat, hes worried about you, he wont persist if you clearly don't want anything at that moment, but he will try and push because food is an important part of Luffy's life,

The midday sun shines through the bay windows of the ornate office, and a well dressed woman relaxes in her chair on the other side of her wooden desk. âYou know,â her smooth voice calls, âI do have other options, if youâd prefer. For first timers or the moreâŚâ she casts a look towards your fidgeting hands, ânervous, patrons. I have darlings who specialize in that sort of thing.â
âNo,â you shake your head, quickly refuting her her, âI donât need that- Iâm not nervous.â An obvious lie, betrayed by the quickened tumble of your words from a slightly shaky voice. âI just⌠Iâve never done something like this before.â
âI suppose not,â she peers over at you above her half moon glasses, âI donât believe there is any other establishment offering the kind of service that we do. But, itâs been quite popular. I am very certain I can give you a good match.â
On an island deep in the Grand Line, you find yourself in a place you never imagined.
A brothel.
A famous brothel, apparently. At least according to the drunken conversations you overheard at the bar the crew was wiling away the hours in last night. Sitting here now, in this grand estate, youâre certain the rumors are true.
Typically, youâve never been one for such establishments. You had tried, a few times. When that lonely ache was so agonizing you found yourself desperate for company and release. But, while it felt nice in the moment, you always tended to feel worse in the hours after. Far lonelier than youâd been before and heart wrenching knowing that none of it was truly real. Honeyed words turning sour in your stomach as you realize that no one actually loved you or wanted you the way they were paid to tell you they did. So you stopped trying.
Yet, the ache never goes away, rising and chipping away at your heart so dreadfully youâd start to think, once again, that the few minutes of fantasy might be worth it. But, youâd always pulled yourself back from that ledge before you stumbled off it.
This brothel, however, offers something different. Something that maybe your heart can stand to seek comfort in- just this once. âIs it the sensory deprivation?â the Madam asks, rooting for the core of your hesitation, âis that what concerns you?â
âUm, not really,â you fidget. âMy friend knows where I am and what Iâm doing.â Despite how embarrassing it was, you werenât willing to take the risk of no one knowing where you are, so you told Nami. Regardless of the seemingly spotless reputation- which you only learned of last night- itâs still a sex house on an unknown island. Nami promised to keep your vivre card close and your secret closer- and to come find you if you werenât back by the given time.
âWell, sweetheart,â she soothes, âthis is a house of desires. There are many other ways I can fulfill yours.â
âNo,â you insist, âthis is what I want. I want to do this.â
âThen I shall not deny you,â with a saccharine smile, her fingers trail across the file opened before her. Pages of forms you filled out this morning that asked all sorts of personal questions that teetered on the edge of mortifying. But, you wanted this to work, so you answered them all diligently and honestly. âIn fact,â she says, âyou donât need to wait any longer.â
Hands pressing together and pulse picking up, you look at her wide eyed, âreally?â
Adjusting her glasses, she looks towards the man at the door, âis 33 still on the premises?â
The guard turns into the communicator at his hear for a moment before confirming, âyes, Madam.â
âExcellent. Get him prepped,â she orders before giving you a wink, âtell him we have a match.â
âThat soon?â Based on what youâd heard regarding how many people register daily, and what the representative told you this morning when they explained the service, you expected a much longer wait.
âThe stars shine in your favor. Iâve another participate ready to go and you are an exceedingly perfect match.â
âReallyâŚ?â nervously, you wonder how true that is.
âDarling, Iâve been doing this a long time,â she assures you. âNo one leaves unsatisfied. It is a very good match.â
Nodding, you take a steadying breath, preparing yourself to meet your match. In a sense, anyway. The two of you will be given a dose of minor sensory deprivation that prevents sight and speech. Touch and sound otherwise would be unimpeded.
At first, you werenât sure what to think of it. Itâs certainly unorthodox- and a bit scary, even. But, the more you thought about it, the more you came around to the idea. Your match wasnât a worker- they werenât someone being paid to provide you with company. They were someone who wanted the same thing you did. In that sense, it was at least more genuine and real. But, the lack of sight and speech would give your heart a buffer against any memories of regret. It removes the reservation and leaves nothing but pleasure. At least- yearning for comfort- you hope that it will.
âCome now,â the Madam rises, smoothing her skirt and you follow her through the sprawling halls of the tastefully decorated manor. Lavish and decadent, the whole place is pleasurable to the senses- a grand fitting monument to indulgence. Nothing at all like the brothels that often lined the bar streets of the islands youâve visited before.
Under your slippered feet, the carpets are as plush as the complimentary robe draped around your body. After filling out your paperwork, youâd spent a few hours in the one site spa, body still feeling relaxed and renewed- though anxiously eager for what comes next.
In a small room, the Madam stops- door closing behind. A well dressed butler steps up and presents a polished silver tray with a crystal glass atop it. âNow,â she stresses, âdo you remember how to stop the encounter, should you choose?â Bringing your hands together, you clap twice to demonstrate the signal. âGood,â she nods. âThe room will be monitored and a guard will intervene should anything go awry- not that I have any expectation that it will,â she adds pointedly, âitâs more to put your mind at ease than anything.â
âYou meanâŚâ your hands pull your robe tighter across your frame, âpeople will be watching?â
âOnly one,â she holds up a singular finger. âA trusted member of my stall will be monitoring the participants. You wonât even know heâs there, heâll be watching through a special mirror from an adjoining room.â
âOkayâŚâ you suppose it does make sense. And it is reassuring to know they actually take your safety seriously, though the prospect is rather embarrassing. You try not to think about it.
âWhen you hear the chime,â a sweet bell rings through the room, âyou have five minutes before youâll be escorted away. Once in a private room, youâll be given the reversal potion to return your senses, as well as your clothes and personal effects you arrived with. Light refreshments as well will be provided before youâre sent on your way.â
âAnd the guy, will heâŚ?â
âHe will be in a different room. Exiting through a different area of the estate. You will not meet.â
âHeâll never see me?â
âAnd you will never see him,â she confirms. âAre you ready?â
Without further thought or time to talk yourself out of it, you take the glass and tip it to your lips. It tingles on your tongue, but you donât feel any different. Opening your mouth, you make to ask how long it takes the effects to kick in- but no sound escapes and quickly the room dims into darkness.
An arm wraps around yours, guiding you into your room- only the sound of your hammering heart beats in your ears. With every step, heat rises as your body flushes, being led to your partner. Silently, you pray the Madam is right and that heâs as good a match as she says.
The edge of the bed hits against your knees and you stop, the worker taking your hand and bringing it out- pressing it into one much larger and warmer than your own. His fingers wrap around yours with a soundless breathy sigh. The worker pulls away and you hear them cross the room and close the door, leaving you alone with a stranger wrapped in darkness and draped in desire.
For a long moment, the two of you stay still, hands pressed together- just feeling one anotherâs presence. Slowly, long fingers begin delicately tracing your own- their tips gracing featherlight in exploration. Trailing softly down your palm, up the sensitive skin of your wrist, and rising up your arm where his big hand rubs up under the sleeve of your robe.
Before he goes any further, his fingers wrap around yours and he brings them up to his lips, laying a kiss upon your hand before placing it to the warm expanse of his chest- allowing you to touch him first. Heâs solid, well defined and so, so, warm- nearly feverish. Adding another hand, you roam shamelessly over his body and feel his heart flutter as your hands drag across his chest.
Feeling emboldened by the way he presses into your touch, you pull his robe apart and drop your hands down his stomach- blushing at the feel of his strong body. Tracing the divots of his rolling muscles, your mind canât help but imagine what he must look like. Lower on his hips, you find the smooth tips of the arrows that dip down into something that heats the pool between your legs. But, just before you reach it, you grab his hand and bring it to your own chest.
Eagerly, he accepts the invitation, hand pressing between the swell of your breasts. Both hands come to cascade over the mounds, cupping the heavy curves in his hands just to feel their weight. Gently, he rubs and kneads at each breast with expert touch, grinding your nipples into the cup of his palm. While his movements steadily grow hungrier, his hands slightly tremble and you think that heâs perhaps holding back.
But, you donât want him to hold back. You want his unbridled desire and passion unleashed upon you, liberating your own.
To encourage him, you arch into his touch, hands pressing him harder against you, forcing a rougher grab at your needy body. Immediately, he understands what youâre asking and he gives it to you. Ravenously, his hands drag across your shape, so big that together they cover so much of the expanse of your core, making you feel so wrapped up in his rapacious strokes.
When he reaches the knot of your robe, he doesnât timidly seek your permission. Rather, he fists the fabric over your waist and rips it open, dropping it to the floor and leaving you bare before him. Though he doesnât hear your gasp, he certainly feels it with such a tight grip on your body. It spurs him on and he feels you out, rubbing down every inch he can reach to memorize the map of your figure.
Heat rises along with the desire, the lack of sight only heightening the sensation of touch. And you want him touching more, want to feel more of him- pressed up against you. Reaching, you put your own hands back onto his body, tugging eagerly at his robe and he lets you push it off him. Naked and bare, your hands race over each other as the temperature rises between you.
Rolling your body into his, the blackened world whirls suddenly and your heart jumps as you fall back onto the bed, legs draped over the edge. Kneeling down between them, he throws them over his shoulders and wraps his arms around your thighs. Rapidly your breaths come and your knees press together, but he holds you open and dives between them.
With no hesitation, no build up, no teasing- he falls face first into your cunt, tongue swiping long from core to clit. Though you canât hear him, you can feel the long groan that rumbles from his mouth and vibrates through his tongue, the sensation pooling more heat that he eagerly laps up. Youâre grateful then for the darkness to hide the embarrassment you know must show on your face by how flushed you feel.
He dines on you like a man whoâs been starving for it. Itâs entirely for his own pleasure the way he eats at you. Mouth messy, tongue writhing as it pushes in and out, sucking up the slick that gathers and latching onto your clit to make more. Back arching, your fingers tangle in his hair and you surrender yourself to the pleasure. Allowing yourself to indulge in it, allowing this stranger to give it to you and allowing him to take whatever he needs from your body. Because thatâs what you need- what youâve so craved all this time. Someone who desperately needs you as much as you need them.
Fingers dip into you and your whole body jolts, legs tightening around his head before falling back onto the soft bed. Mouth suckling at your clit, his long fingers rock into you, touching places you can never reach on your own. Pads of his fingers dragging across something sensitive, knuckles bumping against your cunt. When he curls into you, tears pool at your eyes and your hands tangle tighter in his soft hair.
He doesnât relent. Curling, pushing, thrusting, sucking- tongue swirling over the swollen bud between his lips. Though you canât hear the sound of your own voice, you know itâs breaking in your mouth, throat vibrating with the silent cries he draws out of you. You can, however, hear the wet sound slicking between your legs as he brings you to the brink, growing wetter as your body coils tight. When the vibration of his soundless voice rolls against your clit, you cum and he stays the course, steering you through the pleasure.
When you start twitching beneath him, he pushes you back onto the bed fully in one strong motion and crawls atop you. Warm breath ghosting your neck, you arch back, opening your legs, letting him settle fully between them. Arms wrapping around his neck, you hold on as he starts humping against you, dragging his hard cock over your dripping cunt. Quiet whimpers and hushed whines stutter in your chest, pressed against his as you hold him close.
Cunt clenching with every thrust, his cockhead rubs over your aching clit. Overcome with the need to feel him, you reach down and take him in your hand and he nearly collapses. Pumping his cock, you feel the length- long and hard and slightly curved. Heâs so wet and sticky, you almost think heâs already cum, but then you feel the slick pour from his tip and pool in your hands. Using it to glide the drag of your hand, you feel some drip down onto your open cunt. Heâs so hot. His body like a furnace that continues to rise, his cock piping and arousal salivatingly scorching.
Tightening your grip, you pump him faster- unable to pull your hand away. He trembles above you, hips humping into your grasp. When you reach down and start working his cockhead with your other hand his whole body convulses and he cums near instantly, drenching you with his release. Pooling in your hand and spurting over your stomach, thick ribbons dripping hot as candle wax onto your cunt.
This was what youâd been missing. The feeling of someone coming undone upon you. Though, thereâs a pang in your chest thinking itâs over. Now that heâs cum, you expect to hear the sound of his hands clapping above you to end the session.
But, he doesnât.
Instead he kisses at your neck, licking at your pulse- lingering when he feels the jolt of your body to signal heâs discovered something sweetly sensitive. Eyes fluttering as he sucks at it, your cum coated body rolls up against his, desire flaring again between your legs.
His still hard cock presses against your entrance and your eyes heat with the promise of more. Locking your legs around his waist, you completely open yourself for him and he pushes in. One long, slow, agonizingly wonderful push that has you arching off the bed, legs tightening and fingers digging against his back. Slid home, your breathes mingle in a long sigh- signaling how much you both needed this.
He waits until he feels your hips rolling up against him to start fucking you. Slow, at first, but rapidly rising, both of you long past restraint. Just two people chasing a shared need. As much as you can, you encourage him to fuck you harder- to have what he needs, to use your body and drive the pleasure into you as he takes it. And he does. Hips losing rhythm to a more primal thrust, mouth still sucking and licking at the spot that has you pleading.
Hand reaching between your bodies, you try to rub at your clit, but he continues fucking you so hard you canât keep steady enough. Sensing what youâre trying to do, the stranger pulls back, sitting up between your legs. Big hands grip at your hips and before you can blink, youâre flipped so quickly onto your stomach it knocks the wind from you.
Thrill pools low in your body, cunt squeezing around his cock as he pulls your hips up with one arm and use his other hand to force the deep arch of your back. Fingers curling into the sheets, youâre desperate for purchase as he starts fucking into you from behind, hitting deeper than anything youâve ever felt before.
Delicious tears stream down your cheeks and electricity shocks up your spine as his curved cock drives precise pleasure to that delicate spot behind your clit. When you settle into your position, body slacking for his taking, his hand drags down your spine and coils around your hip to find your clit.
Taking it between his knuckles, he rolls pleasure into you, hand vibrating with preternatural speed. Immediately, your cunt begins to clench and youâre forced over the edge- pushed by a sensation youâve never felt before. But, he doesnât stop. Doesnât ease up. Doesnât slow. If anything, the grip around his dick spurs him harder and he adjusts the angle of his thrusts so his cockhead fucks directly into your sweet spot.
Drool pools from your lips and even in the blackness of your vision, there are stars as he fucks you from the inside out- pressure building and swelling. As much as you can, you fuck back against him, the rawness in your throat proof of the way youâre crying and begging for him. Whatever heâs doing, you donât want him to stop.
And he doesnât.
He takes you to a place where thereâs nothing but you and him and the pleasure he gives and the pleasure he takes. He fucks you wild and desperate like he knows heâll never fuck you again, but heâs determined to leave his mark on you. To ruin you for any other man who will never come close to giving you what heâs giving you right now.
The levee breaks and you along with it, giving him exactly what he wants as your body gushes over his fingers and you cum harder than you ever have in your life. Still, he doesnât stop. Even as you flood his hand, he milks your clit for every last drop of squirt he can coax. Even as he cums hot and deep in your cunt, his hips still thrust, fucking it inside you.
The pleasure is all consuming and you donât have the strength to do anything but lay there and take it, body collapsing in his grasp. His strong arms keep a hold of you, propping you up until heâs finished and it draws the pleasure out how erotic it is to be his doll.
When he slows, he lets you down easy, draping himself across your back and trailing kisses across your shoulders. Wrapping you in his arms and holding you steady, he slowly pulls out- the mix cum pouring thick and hot from between your legs, soaking your thighs and the bed below.
Panting, you try to catch your breath- but it steals away when he touches you in a way you donât expect. Gently, he settles into the bed and pulls you into his arms and your heart near bursts. Softly, his fingers pet through your hair and his lips press against the crown of your head.
He holds you the way youâve so longed to be held- with the tenderness of a true lover. As if what you just shared was real and intimate and you have all the time in the world to live in this moment together.
Yet, you know you don't. Desperately, you try to keep the cracks from breaking through your heart to live in the fantasy a little longer. By the way he holds you, you wonder if heâs doing the same.
Tucked in embrace, your nuzzle into the crook of his neck and place a soft kiss there and his lips linger on your forehead in kind. Heartbeats pass and begin to harmonize as your breathes even out and sync together. As you settle, you let yourself enjoy the after- the softness- the gentleness.
Pressing closer to him, the darkness allows you to believe it. Believe that heâs yours, believe that this belongs to you. Believe that heâs someone who genuinely cares for you, cherishes you- loves you, even.
Breathing deep, beneath the sweat and sex, your deprived senses fill in the gaps for your imagination. And the faint scent of sea and smoke settles deep in your chest.
Eyes closing to the blackness, one image comes to mind. One man.
And here, in the dark, in this moment that will never exist beyond this room- you let yourself see it. Let yourself imagine it. Let yourself imagine him here tangled with you-
The bell chimes through the room and the dream comes to close.
A/N: so I did it in third person because I just thought it would fit better and I mean I cried writing it, idk if anyone else will but I did. So enjoy it! Also, Whitebeard may be OOC its my first time writing for him but I really just like angst so.

Sphinx was quiet, as it always was, it was peaceful, beautiful with its rolling green hills, the views of the ocean. It was a beautiful blue today, the sparkling kind that hinted at storms coming soon, but still, the waves eased all worries for the day in the early morning sunrise. It was mornings like these that eased her mind but she knew something, or rather someone, was coming.Â
She stood on the cliffside while the wind gently whipped wisps of her hair as she sipped her coffee wearing a green, long sleeve, button up shirt that was far too big for her and well worn and soft from years of use. Sheâd had it for more than twenty years at least. It was her favorite shirt and went far past her knees. She didnât mind, no, she much preferred it to the rest of her wardrobe. Of course, she didnât wear it around the village only on nights when she missed him more than she could put into words.
Her eyes filled with tears as she sipped her coffee and waited.
News travelled fast but ships travelled slower.
She knew heâd be coming home today.Â
She heard his laughter before she saw him and she smiled as the children ran about, buzzing over the pirates who had come to shore. There was only one pirate group that dared set foot on Sphinx and that was the Whitebeard Pirates. They were home for a time or maybe it wasnât for too long.Â
She never knew with them, not that she minded, she had been a pirate once upon a time and knew the call of the sea better than most, but sheâd retired a few years back and had made Sphinx home. Heâd told her that it was hers just as much as his as he had with his ship when theyâd left the Rocks Pirates together.
But those memories arenât ones she wanted to revisit now as she made her way down to the village and she could feel the mood was down, morale was low. Sheâd heard about it briefly from Whitebeard himself that Ace had gone after Teach, said Ace felt responsible since Thatch had been his friend but nowâŚ
âWell, look what the tide dragged in.â She drawled as the emperor laughed a bit when he saw her. There was always going to be a spark between the two of them no matter how long it had been. This time it had been months and sheâd increased her calls and visits to the Moby Dick as his illness got worse.
They both knew they were meeting on borrowed time.
âMiss me then or are you looking to steal my treasure?â
âYour treasure, are you giving it over to me yet?â She asked and he laughed, that big booming laugh that had her falling in love all over again and she refused to address the ache in her chest. She didnât want to identify the feeling of grief even if she knew this was going to be one of the last times she heard that laugh.Â
âNever.â He grinned down at her and motioned for her to lead the way. His sons knew where he was going and they knew the woman better than most. Sheâd been on the ships more often than not in the years the Whitebeard Pirates had been sailing and she had come to think of all of them as her sons by proxy as it was.Â
They were her boys.Â
Theyâd always be her boys just like theyâd always be his sons.
The walk to the cottage was quiet as it often was. They either said plenty of words or nothing at all. Silence had always been comfortable between the two of them, easy, safe, home. That was the one thing about Edward Newgate. Heâd always felt like home to her. Her mind drifted and she smiled when his large hand grabbed hers. It was quiet, a gentle reminder that he was still here, still with her.
Heâd always been able to do that too. Ease the worries in her mind, answer the unspoken questions. She figured it came with knowing each other for over a half a century of living and being in each otherâs lives.Â
âSake?â She asked as they got to the cottage that had been built with him in mind. He walked in and nodded, sitting down on the large couch as she grabbed the jug. Sheâd had it ready for him, always. He took it from her with ease and took a drink of it while she sipped the smaller jug she had. She had never liked sharing and he had teased her endlessly for that when she had told him she didnât want his germs.Â
He had always made the bratty teenager in her come out even well into their adulthood.Â
She supposed that might be what love was.Â
âThey captured Ace.âÂ
The words filled her with dread as they broke the comfortable silence as they sat across from each other. The woman who had once terrorized the seas with him and the strongest man in the world but neither of them could have stopped it.Â
âYou should have never let him go after him.âÂ
âI know but I couldnât stop him.â Whitebeard said with a sigh, his eyes werenât focused on her. Instead his brown eyes were watching the sea. The sea had always been a cruel mistress because she took and took and took yet they still sailed.Â
âYou know how the boy is, once he sets his mind on something, heâll do it. No matter what I said.â
Much like Roger, but neither of them said it.Â
They both know Ace had gone despite what he had said.
She sighed, looking away from him to the ocean and nodded. âStubborn boy.â She said the words fondly even if there was an ache now.Â
Those damn government bastards. She had never liked them before but now she could positively happily rip Sengokuâs head off. They both knew that they were using Ace as an example and a trap for Whitebeard.
âWeâre going to Marineford.â He told her and she sighed, nodding.
âI had a feeling you would be. Iâd be pissed if you werenât.â She meant it too. Sheâd go but she knew he wouldnât let her, it was useless to ask to go.
Besides, they both knew he came here to say goodbye.Â
He chuckled then and nodded, taking a long sip of the sake, and sighing.Â
âIâm tired, moonbeam.â
Her eyes lifted to meet his gaze then because it wasnât often that Edward Newgate admitted he was tired but she knew that he was. Tired of losing those he loved and called sons, tired of feeling weak, but he was far from weak.Â
âMaybe Roger had a point.â He laughed a bit then. âChoosing how to die rather than letting something kill him.â
She felt her heart clench but she couldnât disagree. Sheâd much rather him choose his death rather than let the illness take him.Â
âNot a bad idea and you wonât go down without a fight.â she pointed out and he smiled at her because he knew she understood it, understood him. Sheâd been with her since the beginning and theyâd been two idiots on Rocksâ ship where life was threatened every day unless you were stronger and more ruthless than them. It had been a dog eat dog world and they had survived it.Â
He grinned at her and she rolled her eyes fondly. âI truly do hope you punch Sengoku for me and send him my regards.â She couldnât help but laugh as he started to laugh, shaking his head.Â
âIâll be sure to tell him.âÂ
She knew that he would. The silence fell again for a moment as the memories of the two of them filled her mind and his too. But then he brought up memories aboard Rocksâ ship, of her destroying rival crews, of her fussing over him, of him fussing over her, of him saving her more times than she could count and her finally not minding it. Memories of falling in love over time and memories of him asking her to join his crew, saying he wanted to build a family, and somewhere safe for those who wanted to wreak havoc on the seas and didnât have a home. She had said yes faster than he had expected her too but honestly, it had relieved him.Â
They talked for hours, reminiscing and at some point they had wandered outside to the cliff overlooking the ocean as the sun set, her feet dangling off the side along with his as she leaned against the large man and smiled. His warmth eased the ache in her chest because she knew the next time they would do this, he wouldnât be talking.Â
âDo you regret it?â His voice, low and deep, cut through the sounds of the waves finally after a lull in their conversation of memories and feelings.
âRegret what?â She hummed, eyes closed as she breathed him in. He had always smelled of the sea and sandalwood.Â
âFalling in love with meâ
She smiled and looked out at the sea, eyes filled with tears and a longing she hadnât dared named the entire evening but it was there.
âEdward, if I was given the chance to fall in love with you again, Iâd do it. Over and over again.â She answered honestly, looking up at him now with tears shining in her eyes.Â
She wanted to be selfish and hold onto this moment forever, keep him here with her for the rest of time and they could live out their days but that wasnât in the cards for either of them, the sea had already chosen the strongest manâs alive path and he had chosen his fate.
âIt was always going to be you and I in the end, no matter what world, no matter what universe, Iâd find you, and Iâd be waiting for you to fall in love with me again.â She answered him honestly because they both deserved that. âI never will regret our lives, Ed. Not once would I change anything because I got to live a life full of adventure and freedom and strong stubborn men who make me want to bash my head in.âÂ
He chuckled at that but his arm wrapped around her, pulling her close as if he was trying to memorize the feel of her against him. She didnât mind, she was doing the same thing.Â
How did someone say goodbye to someone they had loved their entire life and thought theyâd always be there?
âCan't help it if I drive you insane.â He told her and she laughed softly, snuggling into his side more and shaking her head.Â
âIdiot.â She said the word fondly and he held her tighter.Â
âI love you too.â He never said it often and she didnât either but they both had known it, they hadnât had to say it, just like they hadnât gotten married. They were both married to the sea yet they belonged to each other in everything but name.Â
The silence fell once more as they watched the sea as the stars began to rise and the moon made its ways higher into the sky. Nights had always been her favorites and he had said he liked them simply because she always looked happiest under the night sky.Â
âYouâll find me in whateverâs after this, wonât you?â She asked finally and he smiled as he looked out at the ocean again and he hummed, a deep rumble in his chest.Â
âIâll be waiting for you, moonbeam.âÂ
She figured now she understood how Rouge had felt watching Roger sail away for one last time as she waved to the Moby Dick the next morning. Their last night together had been spent in each otherâs arms with soft confessions, jokes, and love. That hadnât been in question but she knew she was sending him to his death and she hoped that Ace would make it home and Marco, Izou, VistaâŚÂ
News travelled fast but she already knew the date, knew the time when he died. When someone you had loved almost your entire life, your soulmate if you will, died, you knew it. She was waiting by the sea, waiting for a familiar ship. She knew Shanks had come to stop the war, stop the senseless killing, and had assured that a boy with a straw hat had escaped safely to carry on a will of a man who had also once wore the same hat, and a boy who had gained the respect and protection of the commanders of the Whitebeard pirates. She hoped and prayed the sea would be good to him but nowâŚ
Her coffee was cold in her hand as she stood in the green shirt she had stolen from Edward long ago, her bare feet grounding her as the familiar sails of the Moby Dick came into sight and the Red Force along with it.Â
Portgas D. Ace and Edward Newgate were on that ship and the tears fell freely then. He was coming home.Â
They both were.Â
Her voice cracked as the tears rolled down her cheeks.Â

In hindsight, it was almost ironic how you didn't notice it sooner, because Nami did something she usually never did: she actually shared her berries with you. For a woman who treated every single coin like the most precious thing in the universe, the fact that she started buying you expensive clothes, treating you to high-end meals, and - most shockingly - refusing to charge you interest on small loans was literally a love confession screamed right at your face. You, however, simply assumed she had experienced a sudden, miraculous change in her financial philosophy or perhaps had found a treasure hoard so massive that she no longer felt the need to pinch pennies.
Her flirting was often physical and very obvious. She would lean into your space, her orange hair brushing against your shoulder, or she would grab your arm to drag you toward a shop she thought you'd like. Whenever she gave you a compliment - something about how you looked in a certain outfit or how much she appreciated your company - you would respond with a, well⌠let's say blunt and very literal observation. When she told you that you looked "absolutely stunning" in the moonlight, you simply replied that the moonlight was indeed very bright tonight and probably helpful for navigation.
She tried the typical "damsel in distress" approach, which usually worked on everyone else. She would pout, tilt her head, and ask for your help with something she was perfectly capable of doing herself just to get close to you. You took these requests solemnly without complaining, and not once did you see the longing in her eyes. You just saw your navigator who occasionally struggled with a heavy map case, and you were more than happy to be the muscle she needed.
The frustration built up in her over months. She watched you as you treated her with a kindness that was genuine but entirely platonic, missing every wink, every lingering touch, and every suggestive comment. She started to wonder if you were doing it on purpose just to tease her, which only made her more determined to finally make you understand just how serious she was.
The breaking point happened during a quiet evening on the Thousand Sunny. Nami had spent an hour preparing a special drink for you - or rather charmed Sanji into making one, who was more than happy to do so for his beloved Nami - and had then positioned herself perfectly in your lap, looking up at you with a gaze that would have melted a glacier. When you looked down at her and asked if she was feeling dizzy or if she had a fever because her face was so read, Nami finally snapped.
Instead of screaming, the poor woman just sighed, leaned up, and kissed you with a desperation that left you stunned. When she pulled back, her face was still flushed, and she told you bluntly that she loved you and that you were, quote, "the most infuriatingly dense person she had ever met." It took you a full ten seconds of silence to process the information before you realized the free meals and everything else hadn't been a weird financial phase of hers, but a courtship. Safe to say, you were more than happy to be her girlfriend.
Robin
Robin's approach to flirting was subtle and spoke of her usual elegance, which unfortunately made it completely invisible to you. She used her devil fruit abilities to create a constant web of affection whenever she could. You would be reading in the library, and a hand would sprout from the back of your chair to gently massage your shoulders or brush a stray of hair from your forehead. To anyone else, this was already a clear sign of intimacy; to you, it was simply being efficient with her powers to ensure you were comfortable while you worked.
She loved to engage you in intellectual banter, weaving suggestive metaphors into conversations about archeology and ancient history. For example, she would speak of "uncovering hidden treasures" and "exploring deep, forgotten ruins" together while looking at you with a knowing smile. You, being too blunt and dense, would respond with genuine academic curiosity, asking her which specific island she was referring to or suggesting a more effective digging tool for such ruins. Not your smartest moment you would later come to realize.
Robin touched you often and deliberately. She would lace her fingers with yours while walking, her thumb tracing the lines of your palm as if she were reading your fortune. When you noticed, you simply commented that her hands were very warm and asked if she had been standing in the sun too long, even growing a little worried. You treated her affection as a series of her normal eccentric yet harmless habits, never once suspecting that the world's most dangerous archaeologist was completely smitten with you.
Robin found your obliviousness fascinating. At first, it was simply a puzzle she wanted to solve. But as time went on, the longing grew. She began to crave a reaction that wasn't just a polite nod or a literal answer. She wanted you to see her not just as a crewmate or a friend, but as a woman who wanted you.
The confession happened in the quiet of the late-night watch you two shared one night. She had sprouted several arms to surround you in a literal cocoon of her touch, holding you close against her chest while you both looked at the stars. When you mentioned that her fruit was "incredibly useful for group hugs because she could hug multiple people at once", Robin let out a soft, melodic laugh that sounded almost a little pained.
She pulled back just enough to look you in the eyes, her gaze now intense and unfiltered. She told you, in her usual characteristic tone, that while her powers were indeed useful, she only ever wanted to use them to hold you. She admitted that she had been courting you for months and was beginning to wonder if she needed to write her feelings down in a formal document and hang it on her forehead for you to notice. To say you were absolutely floored would be an understatement.
Reiju
Reiju flirted with the precision of a royal and the playfulness of a tease. She treated you like a prized possession. Her touch always lingered a second too long and her words were always laced with a honeyed sweetness. She would lean in close, practically purring in your ear in a low, seductive voice, telling you how "delicious" you looked or how much she enjoyed the way you reacted to her presence. You, however, took every compliment as mere politeness or even a quirk of her high-society upbringing.
When she would slide a hand up your thigh or press her body flush against yours during a conversation, you didn't blush or stammer. Instead, you would bluntly ask if she was trying to find something in your pocket - as if she ever needed to steal from anyone - or if she was feeling a bit unstable on her feet. Your lack of reaction nearly drove her wild. Reiju was used to people either being intimidated or enamored by her, but you treated her like a normal person, which only made her fall harder.
She tried to be more direct, gifting you jewelry and expensive perfumes that were clearly meant for a lover. You thanked her graciously and then asked if she perhaps had an excess of these items and wanted them back, since you "didn't want to be a burden on her finances." Reiju had spent a good five minutes staring at you in stunned silence, wondering how someone could be so kind yet so completely blind and, well, stupid.
For Reiju, a major reason of her attraction towards you was rooted in your honesty. In a world of political lies and family betrayal, your bluntness often felt like an anchor. She loved that you didn't play games, even if it meant she had to play all the games herself just to get your attention.
The tension reached its peak during a private dinner. Reiju had deliberately dressed herself in something breathtaking and spent the entire evening feeding you grapes and leaning over you with suggestive intent. When you looked at her and told her that the dress was "very pretty but super inefficient for fighting" and asked if she was cold, Reiju finally gave up on subtlety.
She reached across the table, grabbed your collar, and pulled you into a firm, commanding kiss. When she broke away, she was smiling, though her eyes were burning with a mixture of amusement and desire. She told you quite plainly that she was in love with you and that if you didn't start noticing her advances, she might have to resort to "more drastic measures" to claim you.
Perona
Perona's flirting was a chaotic blend of hopeless aggression and desperate longing. She didn't really know how to be soft, so she expressed her crush by demanding your constant attention. She would float around you, complaining that you weren't paying enough attention to her or "ordering" you to bring her sweets and tea. You took these demands literally, seeing her as a slightly spoiled but endearing friend who just liked being pampered.
She would try to use her ghosts to create "romantic" atmospheres, surrounding you with either floating hearts or using her hollows to make you feel "empty" so that she could be the one to fill that void with her presence. Like the oblivious fool you were, you simply thought she was practicing new techniques with her fruit and would give her constructive feedback, like "the heart shapes are a bit skewed to the left, Perona, you should work on the symmetry."
Whenever she tried to act cute or "moe" to get a reaction out of you, you would respond with a very literal observation about her outfit. If she twirled in her gothic lolita dress and asked if she looked pretty, you would reply that "the lace was very pretty, but it must take her a long time to wash it." Perona would usually respond by screaming and calling you an idiot, but in her head, she was screaming because she wanted you to kiss her.
Despite her outward volatility, Perona was actually deeply insecure about her feelings. She feared that if she were too direct, you would reject her, and she couldn't handle that kind of blow to her ego. So, she hid behind her attitude and temper, hoping you would eventually "just get it."
The confession happened after a long day of exploring Kuraigana Island. Perona had dragged you to a secluded spot to watch the sunset, and she was unusually quiet, leaning her head against your shoulder. When you asked if she was feeling sleepy or if she had a headache, she finally lost it.
She stood up, her face bright red, and shouted that she hated you for being so oblivious. She yelled that she had been practically throwing herself at you for an eternity and that she loved you, even if you were a "complete and utter blockhead." As she began to cry out of frustration, you finally put the pieces together. You wrapped her in a hug, and as she sobbed into your chest, you finally admitted that you liked her too, though you were still genuinely confused about the heart-shaped ghosts. You probably deserved the slight shove she gave you afterward.
