Grand day at HQ - Mr. Heckland is stepping up with a press release later today on something we've been quietly building. Let's just say -- Gotham's about to get a whole new perspective! 👁️
Saw a post claiming that we secretly run the Bat-signal...While we do handle lighting automations for a few customers, that's above our pay grade... 🤔😶😶
#notit #stilldoingheroworkthough
Someday soon, the truth will be revealed. GrandTech will go down in flames, burned to ash and absorbed into another industry Goliath, much like so many other companies Gotham has spit out. It's just a matter of time. Clock's ticking.
[ The post goes online, unanswered, no tags, no presence of the intern or any other employees signing off. It's like it's been posted on mere accident. And then, after just a few minutes -- it's gone. Erased. ]
. . .
. . .
. . .
[ Somehow, it got through the system. But how? ]
Can't wait to test those new systems. Hope you updated those kernels.
Miss Tuesday @ghosts-of-gotham
Hi!
While we appreciate your enthusiasm, our kernels are always updated, logs and monitored and any attempts to enter our servers without authorization will be documented accordingly and reported to the GCPD.
So sorry to hear your experience with GrandTech hasn't been to your satisfaction (yet)!.
We understand that not every solution fits every need. Our focus remains on delivering reliable, secure systems for our clients and those who trust us. And we are always, always open for constructive feedback!
I’ve glitter bombed your lobby 🖕Have fun trying to get it out of the carpet
Hello,
Unfortunately, the glitter is not the worst thing that we've dealt with since building our beloved headquarters in Gotham. Thank you for your concern, but the facilities team has been notified and will be bringing in a new carpet (again).
Terrible night. Or rather, a terrible morning to wake up to. His worn, rudely-awokened visage had been staring at his reflection in the tall windows of the conference room for nearly half an hour now. Waiting. Unbearable waiting. God—
“I-I’m sorry, – I came as quick as I –”
The voice of his fellow member of the board came through. Malik Ortega - Chief of Technology - was a trustworthy man. One of the few men that Roy trusted with his life. But today, he was about to get a world full of anger directed at him for no reason at all.
“Sit down,” Heckland growled, hand on his hips like a disappointed authority figure. “And none of you fuckin’ talk until I adress you. Got it?”
Mr Ortega swallowed hard as he got seated among his fellow board members.
Elliot Lee.
Karen Duvall.
George Wheeler.
All four of them were on high alert – witnessing their boss march back and forth in front of the skyline of Gotham city - drowning in a beautiful array of sunset colors.
“...Now that we are all f i n a l l y gathered -” Roy gave a quick glare to Ortega with a torturous pause who quickly wished to melt through the floor. Everyone in that room besides the CEO hoping they could do the same. Perhaps that would spare them of the explosion that was about to go off in the room. “ …Let’s talk about how to resolve this fucking mess.”
With bated breath, the board exchanged glances between one another. Hoping that the other would have something to say, something to redeem themselves from the shitstorm, but nothing. So just like always, Roy had to step up and solve it himself.
“...Fine —, I’ll begin. There’s no way that the media can trust this – what – anonymous source? What kind of fucking proof did they even have? Can we request the case file from the GCPD? See what they know?”
This question was directed to Mrs Duvall - ice queen of the office. Although Roy’s temper managed to make her squirm, she held her ground a little more due to her age and ability to not give a damn.
“It depends how active the case is, Roy…And we aren’t actually accused of any foul play here. But if Ms Neroni did commit any of these accused crimes during her employment —”
The name alone made Heckland cringe.
“They’ll be sure to investigate us. Fuck. Okay—”
“...About Ms Neroni…If she truly isn’t dead and this ‘Binary’ person has been her all along…” Karen didn’t get to finish her sentence before Elliot Lee cut in after he had been rapidly kicking the floor with his foot. He had too much on his mind to stay silent today.
“I thought you said you got rid of her — Now she’s what? Coming back with a vengeance to end us all? Y-You don’t understand, man – but have you seen the threats this ‘Binary’ has been sending to us all? It’s heavy shit - and we fear for our lives here! Just look at Wheeler — “
All eyes turned to the youngest member of the board - George, who was wiping his glasses for probably the 45th time since the start of their meeting. Eyes piercing into the nothing before him, dissociating beyond repair.
“He’s like, fucked up — “
“Snap out of it, you wimp!”
Like thunder coming down, Roy slammed his fist into the long table. Causing Wheeler to nearly drop his glasses before staring up to the others with fright written all over him. Completely out of shape and beyond logical reason.
“L-Look, the – they came to my house! They knew where I lived and w-who I had been talking to –T-They’re not fucking around. They want us dead – Because of what we did —”
Those words seemed to strike a sore spot amongst the whole room. Every member let the quiet sink in before Malik finally let his voice speak up.
“You need to sort this out, Roy. We all know what happened to Neroni - we all know what you did to her. If she is who the media says she is…She can destroy everything we’ve worked so hard for. Tear us AND the company down before we know it.”
The confrontation caused the CEO to go speechless - staring at Malik first with undeniable rage - but it quickly simmered down. His hands thrown up into the air like he was surrendering to a pack of wolves.
“...Fine. I’ll do it myself. You pieces of shit are as worthless as always. You don’t want to help? Alright.”
The thud of the glass door was the last thing that echoed through the conference room as Roy left - his assistant who had been waiting outside hurrying to catch up with him marching down the hallway. She was equally as lost and confused as the board members who had been left in the room behind them.
“Find out who sent in that anonymous tip. I want a name by the end of the day – And call Falcone and tell me to meet me for lunch. Tell him it’s urgent, even make up a bullshit excuse if you have to - just get me a meeting with him pronto.”
The assistant nodded, already phone in hand to make some calls. “Y-Yes, sir.”
Before Heckland moved into the elevator, his assistant moved back to his office. Her long heels tapped against the cold floor and disappeared down the hallway as the elevator doors closed with a chime.
Bianca Neroni.
Oh, Little Miss Bianca. His Bianca.
Too bad she was too stubborn to die in that car.
And too bad now that she had refused to quit when she could.
He was going to make her life a living hell.
Again.
