April Coping || Ron and Hermione
Ron tried to keep from smirking at Hermione’s attempt to throw the ball for Remus. Not that it was bad or anything, but Remus was used to Ron’s arm and was looking a bit disheartened by the lack of chase he had to put in to go get the ball. “Wouldn’t mind you cooking me some things to just heat up or wotever. Honestly, I never think ‘m gonna get the knack of cooking. Every attempt at learning is awful. And y’know if I won’t eat something, it’s pretty bloody awful.”
Remus trotted back to them, dropping the ball into Ron’s hand. He leaned back slightly, before chucking the balls with a high arc to allow Remus time to run and chase it. “And ‘m sure y’know how I keep in shape, Mione. You were only married to me for years. Me and Remus go out running every morning. It’s nice having a partner instead of being alone.”
She laughed, shaking her head at the scruffy mutt, as he looked so let down that she had not thrown it round the world for him once. As Ron spoke, she turned all attention to him. She felt bad for not offering before hand, but she honestly thought he had some ability to at least boil water without her.
"Yes, I wouldn't mind making you food to warm up. Maybe even Make Remus a few meals too, sure he would like that. Did you honestly make something that you wouldn't eat. I can't imagine."
She watched the ball soar through the air in an arc and the little white and black tramp scurried after it with his tongue lulling to the side. She kept watch on him as she spoke. "Yes, I do know, I guess it was an odd question to ask. Does Remus like the runs, does he keep up well. He is an older dog, even though he seems to have to the energy of a puppy." She tried to ignore the way he said he was alone, his only companion four legged and furry. She knew that feeling herself, living with just her and crooks, who was getting on in years and not much for anything but warm cuddles.
