Gunnar has chemistry with literally every person he meets
just realized my favorite sitcom husband is bisexual disaster feminist twink/twunk with a heart of gold and twice the anxiety
Jimmy and Duncan in series 4 episode 1
Mercy Thompson Re-read
So I bought the newest Patricia Briggs book, Smoke Bitten, and I said I wasn't going to re-read the whole series to get to book 12 and here we are 2 days later and I've read books 1-4 so let's make this official!
I have to say, books 1-3 might be my favorite. Also, despite the fact that I'm going all in on this quest with the short stories and spin offs, I think I prefer waiting until after Bone Crossed or later because knowing about Ariana is Silver takes away some of the tension with Samuel's arc
Moon Called
Ah the first book, where it all began. Shout out to my sister who bought this book first and made me read it.
I love the seeing things that will later become plot points.
The scene with Dr. Wallace made me cry
Samuel is broken *see foreshadowing for calling Samuel Sam
This book's Bad dude - Gerry Wallace
Adam starts a courtship. Of course it wasn't just because of Bran, silly Mercy.
Ben is an ass but he protec
We meet Gabriel!
I love how much of a team Adam and Mercy are right from the get go. All of their interactions are gold.
Blood Bound
I had forgotten a lot of the details on this one. I think because I love the book on either side so much. It's vampire time!
Honestly you could be forgiven for thinking the vampire scene in the first book happened in this one if you were like me and jumbled up some details before your re read
Current bad dude - demon riding sorcerer vampire with an unassuming name haha
In a school yard voice: Stefan loves Mercy, Stefan loves Mercy
Poor Ben and Warren (and Adam and Samuel and Stefan)
Kyle rules
Enter ghost plotlines
Iron Kissed
It's very clear
Moon Called Reread
Was reading short stories and whoops now I'm rereading this one.
But what's funny is this go around I'm picking up on so many little moments where Mercy is the trickster. I don't think she even realizes later in the series just how much of her is innately coyote the trickster
Love how tumblr has its own folk stories. Yeah the God of Arepo we’ve all heard the story and we all still cry about it. Yeah that one about the woman locked up for centuries finally getting free. That one about the witch who would marry anyone who could get her house key from her cat and it’s revealed she IS the cat after the narrator befriends the cat.
Might I add:
The defeat of the wizard who made people choose how they’d be to be executed
The woman who raised the changeling alongside her biological child
The human who died of radiation poisoning after repairing the spaceship
The adventures of a space roomba
Cinderella finding Araura (and falling in love)
I don’t know a snappy description but the my nemesis cynthia story certainly lives in my head
hilariously, these are almost all in my fic tag. so, a compiled list from the notes (and some extras):
The God of Arepo (graphic novel 1 / 2 / 3) (ebook)
The Monster of Sentan
The Witch’s Cat
Raise Both Children
Stabby the Roomba (honorable mention)
Cinderella Marries the Prince (comic)
My Arch Nemesis Cynthia
Pirates and Mermaid
Eindred and the Witch
The Demon King
The Cornerwitch
Grandmother Beetroot
Apocalypse Daycare Worker
Grandmother Accidentally Summons a Demon
New Year Saga
A Story About Changelings
Ranger in the King’s Forest
The Difference Between a Hare and a Rabbit
Goblin Men (Canines)
I am in love with you /p
What about the one with the princess locked in a tower learning to become a wizard? That’s lived in my mind for years and I haven’t seen it in a long time
Oh, love that story, adding it to the list: 20. Princess Talia and adding a few more contenders 21. Thyme 22. The Monster under the Bed 23. A Meaningful Death 24. Humans are unstoppable…until they aren’t 25. The Monster under the Fridge 26. Antler Guy 27. Cleric slamming healing spells
Adding a few more I remembered: 28. The Frog and the Scorpion 29. HSTHETE 30. The First Witch in the World 31. Imagine that Oceans were replaced by Forests 32. A Faerie taking a Name 33. The Dragon on the Farm 34. Synovus & Menace 35. Raising the Anti-Christ 36. Aliens vs. Flora & Fauna of Earth (pretty sure there are even more additions to the original post but I had this one saved) 37. Doctors without Borders…in Space! 38. The Villain-Wrangler 39. The Last Contact 40. The 100 Parent-Point Children 41. And the Heavens Wept 42. The Night Gentleman 43. The Serpent God and their Priestess
44. No One Showed Up for the Last Storytime
45. Untitled Comic
46. A Fair Return
And here’s more.
The way Lloyd is so protective of his team really shines in 1x04. He is so mad at Charlie for giving Erica bad emotional advice that he calls him a jackass lol
Elizabeth Kerner's Song in the Silence trilogy has been the absolute perfect Autumn reread.
The Song in the Silence, the Lesser Kindred, and Redeeming the Lost are such wonderful perfect books in my mind. Peak fantasy. True love. Real emotions. Laughter and magic. Dragons and demons.
They hold such a special place in my heart.
Remember in Charlie's Angels how Drew Barrymore's character always had a crush on the bad guy?
My crush on Halbrand is so strong I think he's Sauron (he forges, hellooooo)
I am obsessed with this theory now 🤩
MIND BLOWN.
Brilliant
Rings of Power
Spoiler for ep 3
OK but listening to the podcast of Don Marshall on Decoding TV and it's so funny to me that they were so shocked by the brutal decaravaning of the Harfoots. I thought it was wonderfully primitive and meshes well with the idea that we all kind of came up with that Harfoots are "Proto-Hobbits"
Like clearly their life hasn't always been easy, with their fear of the big men hunters and how they must always be migrating.
Gotta give Tom Sturridge credit for doing a hell of an acting job in the premiere when his job is to give a convincing hour-long performance while 1) mute, 2) naked, 3) in a fishbowl
The bee is back!
You know, as I get older than the protagonists of most of my books, I think it would be so cool if Anna from Alpha and Omega had been middle aged instead of a college student.
I do love it as is - but wouldn't it be cool to see how the transformation to a younger body, the disillusionment of a settled and lived in world, affect a woman?
If Wheel of Time really wants to be faithful to the books then every episode should start with an hour long cold open featuring 20 different characters.
It's what Robert Jordan would’ve wanted.
Zoë Robins and Daniel Henney as Nynaeve al'Meara and Lan Mandragoran
THE WHEEL OF TIME 1x08, “the Eye of the World”
STRONG lord of the rings vibes. Amalisa and her brother talking like Rohan.
