Reticulated Python ( python reticulatus ) These southeast Asian constrictors reach lengths of up to 30 feet and are the longest snakes in the world. They are excellent swimmers but rarely stray far from their dens. Mainly preying on small to medium sized mammals, they have also been known to kill and eat humans. Reticulated pythons can weigh up to 450 lbs and get their name from the patterns created by their scales and the geometric patterns created by the color of the scales. They can live up to 30 years and the females lay 20-50 eggs in an average clutch.
