starting a collection
If I may submit:
Happy birthday to the band that taught me not all boy bands need to know how to dance, that London is quite big, that I was insecure just because I didn’t know I was beautiful, that sometimes I just have to take a chonce and most importantly that if I ever feel alone I simply…don’t have to. Happy Birthday One Direction, they don’t make em like you anymore✨
nickname poll
So currently I answer to my full first name (which I usually introduce myself with) as well as two nicknames/diminutives plus my last name when people mistake it for a first name. There are two or three other nicknames I've also gone by in the past. I'm perfectly fine with this, or neutral at minimum-- I have a common name and have had to be flexible with how I'm distinguished for my whole life. I also don't feel a deep and fundamental connection of my name with my identity, though I think going by another name entirely would confuse me.
A number of friends have been appalled at me being called names I don't say are my name. Which is really weird to me, although I'd go to battle for anyone else who was getting either deadnamed or called something they didn't want. But this perspective seems surprisingly common!
How do you feel about being called something other than the name you introduce yourself with?
I think it's fun if people give me (non-derogatory) nicknames or shorten my name
I don't care if people call me something else and will answer to it
I'm mildly uncomfortable or annoyed but won't make an issue of it
I HATE being called something else and will always correct people

If you were handcuffed to your girl blorbo with magical unbreakable handcuffs for 24h, would you be okay with this?
I trust her, I’ll be fine
I trust her, but it’ll be a stressful 24h
It depends on what kind of day we’re having
This is gonna suck…

watching bones for the first time ever and did not expect to cry as much as i have at this show so far! like i am SOOOOOOBBBBBBBBING my eyes out at the burial/eulogy Brennan gave the fighting dog being both what it was for the dog, but also very much more at it being an allegory of her relationship with Zack— all the advantage taken by the master lines GOT ME MAN
and then he was like so central in the very next episode this show is gonna end up making ME king of the looney bin!!!!!

late night reminder to self: your depressive episode will not last forever. it will have an end. tonight will not be the end of you.
Hey guess what i saw this a few days ago when i was in an absolutely scary slump and then i spoke to my counsellors and did what they told me to do and now i feel so much better. So this is true. Reblogging for more good luck
why is this so beautiful in like a space way
Duuude don't question my version of events I'm such a reliable narrator. I'm literally the protagonist and the main character. You can literally read some of my internal thoughts, that clearly means you have complete access to an objective view of my thoughts and feelings and a correct impression of my characterization and the events unfolding around me. I'm not omitting any information from the audience. Nevermind that timeskip just now
the very concept of a “work life balance“ is such a slap in the face considering how many workers are expected to deal with ridiculous commutes, having to remain professional even off the clock because they represent a company, being called in for a shift at a moments notice and having to drop everything or they’re fired, doing unpaid overtime etc etc. capitalism has never given the working class the supposed luxury of true free time or a personal life divorced of the working environment and no amount of encouraging people to organise their time better is going to make up for that
