Today we're going to review the most recent two years on the JET Program. In 2018 the Shiga Prefecture Board of Education transferred me from Nagahama to Koka. Koka is in the southeastern part of Shiga. I'll detail how I adjusted to my new high schools, finding a new judo dojo, and the vibes I get from my new home. #taibatsu or physical punishment is a huge problem that student athletes face in #Japan. As an assistant #wrestling #coach who has coached in both Japan and the US, I have a unique perspective on how #athletics are taught in both countries. In today’s video, we’re going to breakdown the first 2 years of my time on the JET Program. I spent the first 2 years in Japan in Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture. There were a lot of ups and downs during this era of my life. I struggled with culture shock, negotiating my place at the high school I worked at, fighting with the harsh weather in the Kohoku region of Shiga, and hating every second of using a bicycle as my primary form of transportation.
