Greetings from Puerto Rico! Raul (left) started riding with us on visits to NC and we introduced him to Maple Sally Rd. and the Wilson's Creek Gorge. He fell in love with it and started talking to us about getting a Revenuer. His riding friends in Puerto Rico took notice of his new steel bike and Raul was hooked on our bikes for handling everything Puerto Rico could throw at him. John (center) and Francisco (right) decided that Maple Sallys would be the perfect bike and Raul decided he needed to add another Grava to his collection and so Grava Maple Sallys made their way to Puerto Rico. Good to see smiles all around! #RideEverything

Miles were ridden, fun was had, fires we warm, food was shared, and friendships were strengthened and some were freshly made! Thanks to everyone who braved the threat of rain to enjoy beautiful winter conditions in the gorge with temps in the low 50s and a brief misty rain at the very end of the ride. Highlights of this year's High Tea Ride were: Phil Hatcher breaking his Crank Bros. pedal a third of the way into Maple Sally. @beardedguyinavan talking about how it of shape he was and then taking up a storm while climbing beside me and me having to concentrate on breathing to maintain his pace @magicjack828 losing the rear end going through a turn at Mach 10, nearly high siding and then somehow recovering it while laying down a huge skid as I laughed loudly thinking I was finally getting to witness "the big one" that we all know is bound to happen to him at some point @guptonte cooking up awesome quesadillas in an iron skillet over the fire pit as we finished up the ride while @alexbroyhill aka "Winky" tried to hide his years of joy behind some rad shades that he probably stole from Bank Williams Jr. And all the other moments, conversations and everything else that riding with a bunch of great people on beautiful dirt roads gives you! New Year's Day is our annual High Tea Gravel Ride in the beautiful Wilson's Creek Gorge. One of the highlights of the ride is that we encourage everyone to bring good a drink to share during or after the ride and each year I make something different from the treasure trove of @skratchlabs recipes that I have. This year I'm baking Lemon-Ricotta Rice Balls and pairing it with a Honey-rosemary bourbon cocktail.
