For my first attempt to get back into writing, here is what I came up with for the @graylu-challenge prompt submitted by @blue-queen-kiko, “Friends and parents but not lovers”. I happen to be a mother so I hope I can properly convey some of those family feels. :) I have the entire story outlined but I am terrible with estimating just how many words I will need to get from here to there; I am thinking around 4 or 5 total chapters, but we shall see! Thanks for reading.

GrayLu Challenge: Bodyguard AU

Hello all! This is @foreverfangirling74​ here. I’ve been meaning to submit a challenge for a while, but it completely slipped my mind! Anyway, here’s my idea for a GrayLu fanfic:

Plot

When Fairy Tail mage Gray Fullbuster takes on a job request as a bodyguard for the daughter of Jude Heartfilia, he gets more trouble than he bargained for. Gray expects Lucy to be a spoiled princess and discovers that she is a lonely girl that wants nothing to do with her father’s wealth. Lucy tries to befriend her bodyguard but quickly realizes he has put up walls to guard his heart. Can Lucy’s warm spirit melt Gray’s cold heart?

Conditions

A happy ending (i.e. they must end up together in the end)

No Juvia or Natsu (not because I dislike either character but because I really want the focus to be on Gray & Lucy). Any other characters may be used.

There should be a few moments throughout the story where Lucy gives Gray a hard time with his job (Ex. playing harmless pranks on him, escaping his watch, goofing off when she’s supposed to be getting ready for a ball, etc). She doesn’t do it to be mean, but rather to get Gray to “lighten up”.

No smut, please!

Liberties

Can either be a one-shot (longer, preferably) or a multi-chapter fic

Lucy can either be a Celestial Spirit mage or have no magic at all

Feel free to include angst-y moments!

This story can fall under any genre; you can add a lot of humor or make it super serious.

I think that this group would be a lot better if the person actually WRITING the story got more credit than what they are given. The person who doesn't write it still gets to be called the author? I mean... they only gave the idea. I don't think that is fair for the person who is actually putting in all of the effort into the story, putting in all of the time. You know? This isn't meant to be hateful at all, I'm just saying that it doesn't seem very fair to the actual author.

Don’t worry anon I understand what you mean ^^ The writers will receive proper credit when their story will be published!

However you should keep in mind that while reading a story, the reader will only remember the writer’s name and the one who gave the idea will be completely forgotten. Is it fair for them? They are willing to share their ideas with everyone, a little acknowledgement is not that bad, is it? You know, all we are asking is mentioning “the idea comes from X”. Because it’s not fair to steal idea from others just because you are a writer, no matter how skilled you are.

I know writers will do much more work, of course they will. And they will do a great job, we can only praise them for that work! They are amazing ^^

And for the name “author” … yes maybe it’s not the appropriate word, they are more like “submitter”. If it bothers that much I can change it. I didn’t see others complaining about it so I thought it was fine :/ Anyway I’ll change if necessary ^^

But I repeat, writers will obviously receive all the credit they deserve for their amazing work.

Have You Seen My Shirt?

Plot:

Gray texts Lucy late at night asking if she has seen his shirt. Lucy is confused and responds by texting him “No, I haven’t stop striping your shirt!” While Lucy is getting ready for bed, she finds a shirt to large for her on the floor. Without thinking, she puts it on and sleeps in it. The next day she wakes up late and continues to wear the same shirt with a pair of pants. On her way to school/work/etc., Natsu finds Lucy and tells her the shirt looks familiar. When they meet up with Gray, he is smirking. “I thought you couldn’t find my shirt. It’s my favorite, but I think it looks better on you.” The writer can choose how to continue this story afterward.

Conditions:

Modern AU setting

No pre-established relationship

No NSFW

Possible teasing from Gray and friends with a flustered and slightly irritated Lucy 

100% encourage Natsu and Lucy friendship

Absolutely no character bashing

Liberties:

Other pairings can be used (but please no gr/uvia or n/alu)

Writer has freedom to choose how to continue the story and what modern setting to use

Can change to FT canon verse (but then the text messages may have to be removed)

Writer has choice whether Lucy and Gray get together or not

Really just be creative with this as much as possible

I’ve always wanted to read a well written fan fiction of Lucy meeting Gray first. Like the same events occur but the beginning is with Gray not Natsu.

I’m so excited to start the Graylu fanfic challenge so I’m sending a challenge as example but also as a story I want to share ^^ I hope someone will be interested to write it :3

Plot

Gray and Lucy have two children. They raise their children together and live happily. Everything could have been a perfect if there wasn’t a minor problem: Gray and Lucy are only friends. And even after their children’s birth, their relationship hasn’t changed at all, no love and no sex, just a real and deep friendship. However, after several years of abstinence, Lucy feels the needs to live a romantic relationship. The only issue: Gray, the biological father of her two children, is definitively not in her potential husbands list. The children don’t really like their mother choice. After all, they already have their daddy. What about Gray? What does he think about the situation?

Conditions

At least two chapters

I want Gray to be okay with Lucy searching for a husband at first but gradually be jealous

The child/children does/do not accept anyone but their own parents

I want an argument between Gray and Lucy at some point, the reason is up to you

I want Lucy to have a serious date with someone at some point, accepting Gray and the children

I need fluffy and sweet moment between Gray and Lucy with their child/children. I really need it…

Liberties

Actually Gray and Lucy can have an only child (I only wanted my Silver and Mila babies oc ;-;)

Gray can have a girlfriend too

Gray and Lucy can live together or separately

Lucy’s serious date can be anyone but Natsu (please, let him stay Gray and Lucy’s best friend…)

Prompts for 2017 Love Fest!

Hello everyone! Although setting this up has been a bit rocky, I’m happy to announce that voting is over and we finally have our prompts! The dates for the love fest are the same as last year (July 8th-15th, with the bonus day being “day 0″ on the 7th). I will be making an image containing all the prompts, but I wanted to make a post first so you guys wouldn’t have to wait too long for the prompts. 

Bonus day (Day 0): Blindfolds  Day 1: Lazy morning sex  Day 2: Getting caught  Day 3: Handcuff Day 4: Lucy on top  Day 5: Favorite part of his/her body  Day 6: Passionate night  Day 7: Going commando 

Please interpret these however you’d like! And as always, the prompts are completely optional, we will accept anything you make as long as it follows the rules (rules can be found on the rules page)! Late submissions are accepted as well, so don’t worry if you cant finish in time. Please have fun!

We have the right to remove your challenge if we think the content is inappropriate

Writer

If you are interested in a challenge and want to write the story, mention it on the post (reblog or reply) with a "I'm interested"

You can write the story only after having informed us on the post

A challenge can have several writers

You have the right to ask all the questions you want to the author about the plot

You can negotiate with the author about the conditions

New ideas in the story are great additions as long as it follows the plot and the conditions

The plot name can be changed if it suits you. plot name =/= story tittle

You MUST MENTION CREDITS to the author 

The story can be posted somewhere else than Tumblr but you have to mention it on the post

Graylu Challenge

This comes after a discussion with @foreverfangirling74  because why not? 

So here’s the situation: you’re frustrated because you have plenty ideas for fanfictions but you can’t write it because you’re too lazy (or you have another reason). You wish there’s a great soul reading your mind and writing it for you… No prob’ there are fanfictions challenges! I can provide an example later if it’s not clear enough ^^

What is precisely a fanfiction challenge?

You, the author, submit a story idea. And if someone else is interested enough, they can write it for you. 

There are three parts you must explain in the submission: the plot, the conditions and the liberties.

The plot

It’s literally the base of your story. The plot must be detailed as much as it can be. You need to be precise and structured. “I want A and B to hug/kiss/go on a date” isn’t acceptable.

Don’t forget to mention your plot name, it’ll help to make a list and potential writers would be able to choose a story more easily.

The conditions

It’s the rules set up by the author. The writer has an obligation to follow it. Conditions are good because it actually helps the writer to have an established story-line. By putting conditions, the author express what they want to happen in the story. Nevertheless adding too much conditions can also block the writing because the writer will feel too much restrain. Find a great balance ^^ 

e.g. Smut isn’t allowed - This must be a one-shot/multi-chapter story

The liberties

It’s what the writer is free to do, otherwise it’s not funny :3 It’s still the writer who writes (no, really?) so it’s good to let them add their personal style in the story. The author mentions what it’s allowed. 

e.g. Love triangle/AU allowed - X character can be in a relationship or not

New ideas that the author didn’t think about are great additions as long as it follows the plot and the conditions.

Additional information

The potential writer has the right to ask all the questions they want to the author about the plot.

It is possible to negotiate with the author about the conditions.

The plot name can be changed if it suits the writer. plot name =/= story tittle

The writer MUST MENTION CREDITS for the author (the one who gave the idea). OTHERWISE IT’S PLAGIARISM. I insist. Really. Put proper credit.

Now the real question is: Are you interested in sharing your ideas? If so then we can create a blog with Graylu challenges! If not… that’s fine the project will be dropped. I think it’s important to ask the Graylu fandom because launching a new idea like that and nobody follow is stupid…
