GRAYLU WEEK 2024
day 6: UNISON RAID/FAMILY
graylu fanfic: MOONSTRUCK
Heres a quick fic for graylu:
After Natsu finally leaves Gray approaches Lucy. He can see she is still distraught about the conversation she had with her father. He is uncertain if he should mention he overheard it, maybe she would be embarrassed. Yet, he doesnt want to leave her alone.
Gray: hey, you mind if I come to your place for a bit?
Lucy: huh? Oh. You are asking me? She chuckles pretending to be okay. You never ask. As long as you keep your clothes on you are welcome to stay!
Gray: HEYYY what do you mean? I dont do it that often. He responds with a bit of a blush.
They go to the room together, Lucy’s mind is still elsewhere. She is barely holding on the tears. She cant put the key on the door and ends up dropping it.
Lucy: AGH. I am such an idiot. Good for nothing, idiot.
Gray looks at her concerned. He goes on his knees to help her collect the keys. He sees she is trembling. He holds her hand and looks her into the eyes. He gets her up and unlocks the door.
Gray: want me to make you some tea?
Lucy: you know how to make tea??
Gray: Ura taught us everything!
Lucy: sure, id like some tea. Thanks Gray. If you don’t mind I am gonna go take a quick shower.
He blushes. “Don’t think about her like that rn you idiot she needs you!”
He goes to make some tea. And shortly after Lucy returns, while her skin looks blossomy and her clothes comfortable, her face is still sad. They sit down to drink tea.
Gray: so… hey… about earlier…
Lucy: I know you werent the one stalking me… I appreciate you looking out for me.
Gray: No, I know you know… I just… I overheard your conversation with your father.
Lucy looks at him and looks back down at the tea. She feels so embarrassed at this. He saw how unworthy her father thought she was. Maybe now Gray will think it too. She clenches her cup tightly holding back tears.
Gray: I am sorry… I didn’t mean to intrude I just really wanted to make sure you are safe. But Lucy, I need you to know something. You are nothing like what he describes. It angers me- he punches the table- that anyone especially your father would speak to you like that.
Lucy: I am unworthy, and bad… he is right even in all this work I can barely afford rent and cant even help him. I am horrible. Horrible.
Lucy cant hold the tears back anymore. Gray comes closer to her in an instant and holds her hand again.
Gray: Never ever say that again Lucy Heartfillia. You are sunshine itself. I have never ever felt so much happiness as you bring me.
He gets quiet. She sniffs, and hugs him. He loves her scent and slowly pats her head.
Gray: It’s okay, Lucy, you are okay.
He stays like that with her head on his chest for a while. Finally, she pulls away realising what happened and blushes -
Lucy: Sorry.
Gray looks away and gets up.
Gray: well, I just wanted to make sure you are okay. I must get going now.
He gets up quickly and is about to walk out the door when he feels lucy’s hand holding his arm.
Lucy: Can you stay?
Grays heart beats loudly, he doesnt know how to respond. He is so sure he wants to but… what if its only because she is hurt?
Gray: If you want me to.
Lucy: I really really want you to.
Gray stops and turns and holds her hand. He tells Lucy to get in bed and cleans up the room. While on bed Lucy is reading and Gray asks to see what she is reading. He sits with her on the bed. Both their heart beats increase. They focus on the book and laugh a lot.
When they awaken its early morning and Gray sees Lucy on his chest. He is so happy to see her. But aldo terrified of all these feelings. He quickly tells her good morning and runs off.

The air echoed with screams, explosions, and the rumbling roars of dragons as Gray dashed through the cracked cobblestone streets of Crocus. The earth rumbled beneath his feet, making his steps unsteady. He fumbled over the ground as it heaved and writhed, the road beneath him fissuring at a rapid rate. As the earth in front of him hurled up a good two feet, Gray screeched to a stop to avoid tripping over the suddenly raised ground. Hastily, he skirted around the risen section of the street to resume his feverish pace, lest he become prey to the dragon skulking through the buildings behind him.
Gray rounded the corner and pressed against the brick, pausing to catch his breath. His chest heaved with gulping breaths to suck in as much oxygen as he could as quickly as possible; after several minutes of sprinting, his body was becoming deprived, and his vision fuzzed gray around the edges. As he peered around the corner of the building, he blinked rapidly to force the blurry image to clear. The ground trembled underneath him, and the quake slowly rose in intensity as a horned head rose over the roof of an apartment complex. Poison dripped from its jaws, which were also encrusted in ice from Gray’s feeble attempts to overpower the giant lizard-like monster. As the acidic substance puddled on the building and the road, the hard surfaces dissolved into mush. Thankfully for Gray, the massive beast shambled off in the opposite direction. He breathed a small sigh of relief.
Request: GrayLu; Gray listening to Lucy's heartbeat as she rewrites the book of END, END markings spreading to her heart as she does this
Lucy breathes heavily as she continues writing over the book of E.N.D. Her body glistened in sweat despite the blizzard Gray creates for her. She clutches the quill in her hand tightly, fighting against the heated inner turmoil in her body. It feels like her soul itself is on fire, biting and burning relentlessly from within. It is not Natsu's flames; because while he would never let his flames near her, his flames were not so angry...so unforgiving. It is a weird feeling, being engulfed in cold on the outside and burning up on the inside.
Despite it all, she continues to write, because this is the only thing she can do now to save him. It rested in her hands.
But with every letter she rewrites, the burn in her heart becomes even stronger, and breathing becomes more laborious. The burning sensation is intense, spreading like poison over the right side of her body, the malice force preventing her from writing. But she couldn't stop now. Natsu's life was in danger.
Gray watches over Lucy with a mix of awe and concern. He has never seen her like this before. She is strong and determined and so tantalizingly fierce. Her eyes seem fiery as she works her way with the letters. At this moment, he doesn't see any traces of the cute and naïve girl he initially thought her to be. She is hardly the dainty little princess she was when she first entered the guild.
The same girl who would cower and back off at the sight of any demon, was now fighting off something even more sinister than that. She puts up a strong front, but Gray notices every bit; the increasingly ragged breathing, the slight tremble in her hand, the excessive sweat on her body despite the chill. He cannot bring himself to imagine the pain she was experiencing from within. But she continues without a word, because he knows, he understands her so painfully well; they had to save their friend.
He swallows thickly as he notices the red veins on her body, spread viciously from the tips of her fingers to her arm, slowly branching off on her chest. The demonic power of the book sought to dominate her, body and soul, and all he could do is watch helplessly.
His stomach drops when suddenly, she gasps and shudders as she lets out a heavy pant, eyes glistening slightly and she presses a palm to her heart. His heart jumps when he notices how quickly the red veins were spreading across the area her hand was placed.
"Lucy, what's wrong?" Gray asks, voice laced with worry. Just from being next to her, he can feel intense heat emitting from her body.
She shakes her head, her back slumping a bit as she clutches her chest in pain, "I-I'm fine. Don't worry." she still manages to throw him a smile.
Gray bites his lip in frustration. She was obviously not okay. As she picks up the stylus slowly and raises her hand and continues writing again, another heavy shudder passes through her body.
"Lucy -Lucy stop-" Gray takes her hand in his gently and lays it down.
"But Gray I can't - I need to-" She starts protesting but she stops when she sees Gray's desperate expression.
"I know, Lucy. We need to save Natsu, but I can't afford to lose you in the process too!" he tells her seriously. The words hang in the air for a while before Happy adds tearfully, "Gray's right, Lucy. I don't want to lose you too!"
Lucy nods firmly, but once again, she feels a tugging pain in her chest and claws at her heart, panting heavily.
Gray takes her in his arms, intensifying his magic as much as he can.
"W-Water-" she pants roughly.
"I'll go fetch it immediately!" Happy flies off urgently in search of the nearest water source.
As she continues to press her chest painfully, Gray gently takes her wrist and presses his ear to her heart. Her heart was beating abnormally fast, and her pulse rate confirmed that.
"Relax, Lucy. Take deep breaths." he strokes her head soothingly. She follows his commands and closes her eyes, inhaling and exhaling. “I’m here for you.” He reassures her, reminding her and giving her courage, that she wasn’t alone. That he wouldn’t let her fall. A smile graces her lips and she nods gratefully.
Happy returns with a flask of water, which Gray cools down with his ice magic before helping her gulp it down.
She lets out a calmer breath, the pain in her heart subsiding a bit, "Thanks, Gray, Happy." she nods gingerly. "I'm ready." She grips the quill firmly, the resolute expression back in her eyes as their minds mirror the same thoughts.
Hold on, Natsu, we're going to save you!

“Finally!” Lucy cried, face flush with excitement as she dropped her pastel pink PS4 controller. “I was beginning to think we’d never take that guy down.”
“It did take a lot longer than I’d thought it would,” the voice of one of her best friends came from her cat-ear headphones. The quality of which wasn’t the greatest, though it certainly got the job done.
It seemed as though it had been a really long time since she’d last heard his voice. Which…was partially because it had been a long time since she’d spoken with Gray directly.
It had been difficult to really speak with any of her old high school friends, largely because despite their claims to never grow apart…they had.
Surprisingly enough, it was Lucy who first lost touch. She liked to blame the fact that she had been accepted at a prestigious writers college, though really it was because it had simply been too difficult for her to call any of her friends after having been the first to leave.
She’d found out via social media that it had only been a matter of time before the rest of her friends had gone their separate paths.
Well, apart from Natsu and Juvia that was.
Shocking as it was, those two had wound up really sticking together over the years.
In fact, Lucy had just received an invitation to their wedding that morning. Which in part may have been the largest contributor to Lucy’s reaching out to Gray Fullbuster.
She’d always been fairly fond of Gray, it was tough not to be fond of a guy who so easily stood up for her on a number of occasions that got him into some kind of trouble. Sometimes, it even seemed as though he would stand up for her more often than her own boyfriend would.
Which was impressive, considering Natsu had been extremely vocal whenever he noticed anybody messing with Lucy in any kind of way.
Gray…just always seemed to notice the not so blatant things. Which had always been nice.
“Wanna prep for another hunt? I was thinking maybe we could go for another Azure Rathalos, I still need a claw before I can finish his set.” Gray’s voice prompted Lucy from her train of thought as she habitually reached down and pushed a button on her phone so that she could get a glimpse of the time.
One forty-three a.m. Just how on earth had the time flown by so quickly? It truly felt as though she’d only called Gray up an hour or so ago, yet they had been playing Monster Hunter since about four p.m.
“I don’t know Gray, it’s kind of late. I have class at eleven…”
“Well then we’ve got plenty of time! Remember when we would go on adventures until five in the morning and then wake up at eight or nine only to do it all over again?” He sighed, a melancholy sound. “Damn, those were really the days.”
“My ability to stay up late has dropped by a substantial amount since high school,” Lucy admitted with a short laugh, a bittersweet smile upon her lips as she allowed her fingers to thread through the tassels on one of her decorative pillows, “I honestly can’t even remember the last time I stayed up this late.”
When had she become so dull?
“I think you have just one more hunt in you,” Gray’s voice was light, but was beginning to sound a bit strained, “Come on Lucy, can’t you stay a little longer?”
Lucy held her breath, realizing that tears were beginning to threaten the corners of her eyes. Where was this coming from?
“I guess…I just think it would be really nice to get a little bit back from back then, you know?” Gray groaned, “Damn, I sound like a fucking wimp right now.” He paused, and the few moments of silence spoke volumes to Lucy. “But really, I’ve missed you Lucy. Getting the invite from Natsu and Juvia kind of felt like a wake up call. What happened? Why did I let us lose touch like that?”
“Gray…” Lucy wasn’t entirely sure what she could say, “It wasn’t as though it was all on you, I was the first to go off to college. Remember?”
“Even if that’s true, I didn’t make more of an effort to keep in touch.”
“Neither did I, I’m sorry.”
“Don’t you dare apologize for that Lucy.” Gray sighed, “I just…want to at least try and gain back what we’ve lost. Just by a little bit, we can start with video game sessions every Saturday?”
Lucy worried her lip as she struggled to regain control of her ability to talk, though she knew if she tried in that moment her voice would break, she decided that Gray had already waited long enough since she spoke in response.
Clearing her throat, Lucy nodded her head despite knowing that Gray wouldn’t be able to see it. “Yeah, I think that’s a great idea Gray.”
“Yes!” Lucy could picture the dark haired male pumping his fist in accordance to the exclamation.
Her cheeks felt warm.
“Well then, are you sure you can’t stick around for just one more hunt?”
Lucy released a groan that was followed by a laugh, “Fine! Just one more hunt.”
The two were up until five in the morning, however exhausted they may have been…they went to sleep feeling more fulfilled than they had in years.
Day 5
Day 5: Favorite part of his/her body
Thought I’d write something for GrayLu Love Fest!! Hope you guys like it!!
He had always loved her eyes.
The way they lit up when she talked about her favourite book, or when she ate her favourite ice cream (strawberry), the twinkle in the corner of her eyes or the crease that formed at the corners, they were completely unique to her. Along with the sea of emotions that radiated so fiercely and clear, never hiding what she was feeling, it was one of his favourite parts about her.
But he didn’t think that was his favourite part of her body. No, his favourite part was probably her hands.
They could be so delicate, the way she ran them through his hair or cupped his face when they kissed. But they were also rough, strong, a sentiment to how strong she was both mentally and physically.
He adored how her hands gripped his when they walked, tight yet gentle, showing him that she was his and he was hers and she would never let go. And fuck, how he loved when she would run her hands up and down his body, feeling every part of him, how her hands would send shivers throughout him, something not even the cold could do.
His mind snapped back to the present, gasping at the feel of her hands travelling down his body, lips burning as they followed their path, a heat rising in him that only she could bring about. His hands moved to grip her hair lightly, struggling to keep his eyes open as he watched her moved. She knew what she was doing; she had a lot of practice after all. But that didn’t mean it didn’t feel just as good every time.
Her hands slid back up his chest, tracing small, random patterns across him, barely touching him yet he felt every movement as if her fingers were engraving themselves inside of him. Her lips trailed their way back up, gently brushing against his as she grabbed his hands with hers, interlacing their fingers and giving a gentle squeeze.
“I love you,” she breathed out, soft and low and hungry, while slowly opening her eyes and smiling against his lips. He let out a small, airy laugh, nipping at her lips before flipping them over, her legs moving to wrap around his waist while a giggle escaped her, their hands never breaking apart from each other.
“I love you too,” he whispered back, capturing her lips with his, desire taking over. In the back of his mind, he thought maybe her hands weren’t his favourite part either.
Maybe it was her lips.
GrayLu Challenge: Bodyguard AU
Hello all! This is @foreverfangirling74 here. I’ve been meaning to submit a challenge for a while, but it completely slipped my mind! Anyway, here’s my idea for a GrayLu fanfic:
Plot
When Fairy Tail mage Gray Fullbuster takes on a job request as a bodyguard for the daughter of Jude Heartfilia, he gets more trouble than he bargained for. Gray expects Lucy to be a spoiled princess and discovers that she is a lonely girl that wants nothing to do with her father’s wealth. Lucy tries to befriend her bodyguard but quickly realizes he has put up walls to guard his heart. Can Lucy’s warm spirit melt Gray’s cold heart?
Conditions
A happy ending (i.e. they must end up together in the end)
No Juvia or Natsu (not because I dislike either character but because I really want the focus to be on Gray & Lucy). Any other characters may be used.
There should be a few moments throughout the story where Lucy gives Gray a hard time with his job (Ex. playing harmless pranks on him, escaping his watch, goofing off when she’s supposed to be getting ready for a ball, etc). She doesn’t do it to be mean, but rather to get Gray to “lighten up”.
No smut, please!
Liberties
Can either be a one-shot (longer, preferably) or a multi-chapter fic
Lucy can either be a Celestial Spirit mage or have no magic at all
Feel free to include angst-y moments!
This story can fall under any genre; you can add a lot of humor or make it super serious.
Thank you! Please tag me in the story when you’re done because I’ll want to read it! :D
