So, the bookshop is — that way? No, wait… I think I’m lost.
The bookshop is just around the corner if that's where you are trying to go.
Lena was driving home from work, the windows down and the stereo playing the selection from a CD she pirated a week ago. As it was a holiday, she didn’t have to go to school or do rotations, so she was glad for that. But as she was driving and the song was ending, she heard a weird noise coming from the engine, causing her to pull over on the side. She exited the vehicle only to find there was indeed something wrong with it. However, not knowing much mechanics, she had no clue what the problem was, never mind how to fix it. She let out a frustrated sigh, clenching her jaw as she noticed another car pull over. “Please tell me you saw me down the road and you’re here to help,” she said, sounding rather desperate.
Thankfully, his brother had brought his vehicle from Vegas so that he didn't have to take public transportation or carpool with a friend. It had been a while since he had his car back and it felt very comfortable. He was glad that they maintained it while he was gone and able to bring it here on such short notice. Riding behind the same person on the highway, he noticed smoke coming from her exhaust, which was never a good sign. Eventually, she pulled over in which he did the same. Grayson soon left his car to see if he could help, "Yeah. I saw smoke coming from your exhaust. Thought it be best if you could use some help."
"It’s only Monday night and this week has already sucked. Great."
"What happened today to make you end up here?"
Did anyone ever tell the Backstreet Boys why?
I actually enjoy some of their music. Why would you ask them why?
"Going for a run—wanna come?"
"Sure."
It was nothing. I was just saying thanks for dealing with me in that elevator the other week.Â
I'm glad that we were able to get out so well. Didn't take more than an hour, right?
Well, if you ever change your mind, I’ll be here. I started out doin’ graffiti and a guy who owned a parlor in New York caught me tagging up his tattoo parlor one day and had me work cleaning for him in exchange for not pressing charges. It kind of just went from there.
That's quite the turn of events. I'm always curious as to how people learn their craft.
I asked if you have seen a Chanel wallet lying around. I’d like it back.
Nothing has come up like that in the lost and found. Where was the last place you had it?
Oh, I got a job. Over at a parlor. I’m just a little short on cash. But who am I to turn down someone’s kindness?
You sure? I can give you a good price since you’re bein’ so nice.
I think I'll do fine without one. Where did you pick up the skill?
"I asked, how are you?"
"Distracted is the best word I can put it..."

How can you not be a fan of ice cream? That’s like not believing the sky is blue or thinking that beer before liquor actually makes you sicker. Crazy. Thank god you’re trying a bite, otherwise I’d have to believe that you were an alien sent down to infiltrate the human race.
I didn't grow up on it. My family was passionate about being healthy and working out. So, I never grew fond of it.
But, I must say that is pretty good.
"Oh, hey. Sorry I’m late, I didn’t wanna come."
"This is a restaurant. And, I'm your server...?"
"It doesn’t matter," she quickly changed the subject with a shake of her head. "We shouldn’t talk about it, it’s okay. Let’s get something to drink."
At the sound of the conversation changing, Grayson quirked an eyebrow, wondering if there was something more there that she just didn't want to discuss. "Fine by me."
She sighed. “I just… I dunno. I guess I’m a little uptight about work. My commanding officer suggested I transfer to active duty. There’s been a lot of tension lately and they’re still deploying entire squadrons overseas. So, I guess I just needed someone to talk to. Or get it off my mind.”
Grayson looked curiously at the other, "Well, I know very little about military things but, I thought they were trying to pull people from overseas? Or it's top secret stuff you can't mention unless you kill me."
"Work. Being an adult is a bitch, I guess."
"How was your day?"
"Work is work. Why did you call me Constance?"
