Momento Zero by Leonardo Officina Italiana
Glenn Marcus meets with Salvatore Matrone of Leonardo Officina Italiana and Glenn acquires the Memento Zero - a limited edition fountain pen in blue celluloid. This is a real beauty. More information will be on glennspens.com next month.
This is the birth of a great new pen company. I will write about the pen next month

The Pen Event
Through my visits with pen stores on our trips through Italy and France I often hear how a reader of my pens site (glennspens.com) was just in the store. We just missed. Well last year then I was visiting with Brigitte Courson it turned out I missed a reader of the site by a day. We bought bough the same pens!
So Brigitte and I decided that I would announce in advance the date of my next visit. We would make an evening event and maybe, if a reader of the site is in Paris that week, they will drop by the store.
If you are in Paris in June (sounds good) work your schedule so that you can drop by Bridgitte’s store on Wednesday June 7 from 5 - 9pm.
Plume et Bille 38 rue de l’Arcade Paris
I have maps and Metro information on my pens site. I hope to see you there!

Waterman Edson, Emerald Green
When the Edson pen came out, the first was in blue. At that time I thought I couldn’t afford it. When when the green model was released, well reason took hold and it was one of those pens that I just had to have. This is one of the finest pens made. It is looker. There simply are no other pens that have the same large funky but classic style.
OMAS, Arte Italiana, Wild
Of my OMAS pens, which now hold a special place in my pen collection, this particular one, the Wild, has a special status. It is a remake of the Galileo Galilei fountain pen that was issued in 1993. I remember seeing the Galilei in the window of a pen store when we were visiting Lucca. I always regretting not getting it. Sure we would have had to hand in the rental car but what the heck! Then in 2008 when the pen was re-issued, I told my friend Marco at Novelli Pen in Rome to stop everything and get me one of those pens!
Meet Up at Plume et Bille If you are in a Paris June 7, 2017 join Brigitte Courson and myself at Plume et Bille - one of the best Pen stores in Paris. Enjoy a drink, talk of pens ... details on www.glennspens.com
Pelikn M800 Burnt Orange
Beautiful Special Production pen that is now no longer in production. Burnt orange tone body and dark brown cap and nib section.
Montegrappa Miya
Beautiful celluloid and sterling silver fountain pen by Montegrappa.
Corsani
The Corsani pen store in Rome commissioned Viscounti to make this limited edition pen for their store. There were 90 pieces produced. It is a beautiful celluloid, as used for the Wall Street line, but using the body style of the Homo Sapiens.
Pelikan M800 - Tortoise Fountain Pen
First release in 1987 as part of the “save the company” marketing, the pen was re-leased in 2013. The striped barrel, made out of cellulose acetate, is stunning to see, as it has subtle orange highlights between the brown tone stripes.
The clip and the rings are 24-carat gold-plated with an 18 carat bi-color gold nib. This elegant series consists of a piston fountain pen, a ball pen, and a roller ball.
The pens were produced in a limited amount, just what they produced in 2013. I am told the pens are no longer available from Pelikan's U.S. distributor.
Montegrappa Extra Otto - Zebra
Delta Deep Sea Dolvcevita
Delta Dolcevita Caruso - Vancouver Pen Club
Loving my exclusive Delta Dolcevita Caruso fountain pen designed for the Vancouver Pen Club. Here it is sitting on one of my comb-o notebook with its leather cover. Only 28 of these exclusive pens produced, a note about the pens will be in the April 2015 issue of PenWorld. The smooth Fusion nib in stub is a pleasure to write with.
Montegrappa Extra 1930 (Turtle Brown)
In last month’s newsletter from Montegrppa, they referenced world explorer Milosz Pierwolain who uses a Montegrappa Extra 1930 fountain pen to record his travels in his journal.
I thought there were a number of similarities with Milosz and myself. I could almost look like a twin, and also this summer I used my Montegrappa Extra 1930 fountain pen as my primary pen to write in my travel journal as I travelled through Italy in September.
I acquired the Montegrappa Extra in Rome at Novelli Pen at the beginning of the trip and basically could not put it down for the month.
This was not first Montegrappa Extra 1930 I have, in fact Marco at Novelli Pen in Rome has helped me select both the Parchment and the Marble Green celluloid versions of this classic pen.
Milosz founded EXP Adventures which designs custom tours to luxury destinations. Here is another parallel, as my wife, Karen Marcus, through Marcus Travel Planning, assists clients with travel planning in Italy and France.

Stipula Etruria Amber
This is classic Italian. Stipula, located in Florence, makes these pens from rods of celluloid, hand-turned. They are trimmed with gold plated sterling silver.
The pen with its soft oval shape is a pleasure to hold. The rich amber-brown tone allows the light to catch gold and red undertones.

Laban Mento
Ah, the mightly Laban Mento.
Laban created this pen with a vintage look. This is one of those pens you can have for everyday writing and take everywhere. Not a lot can go wrong with it. The trip and clips are platinum plated. The body is made from resin. The nib is a steel nib. There is some variation in terms of writing experience, but the nib with section can be purchased for $25.
It is one of those pens for someone who likes a large pen, measuring over 6 1/2” in length when the cap is posted. Smooth round body, feels quite good in the hand.
Delta Chatterley Dolcevita Fusion Star, Sole
I selected this pen to take with me on my trip to the Amalfi Coast. This is the type of bright yellow I want when I am sitting at the end of day with a lemoncello and my travel journal.
One of the Fusion Star series that Delta Pen crated for Chatterley Pens. It is fitted with a very smooth Fusion Nib, in Stub width. A pleasure to write with.
