haythem wasn't really one for parties. he was familiar enough with high london society to navigate the social expectations of such things, even if modern parties were slightly less constrained. most people were dreadfully dull, but some people were worth maintaining a formal relationship with, if nothing but for useful connections. he nursed his drink and observed the room before his eyes settled on one particular guest. "you've managed to avoid almost every person here." haytham said, sneaking up on the other before they had the chance to avoid him as well. "either you've set that as a challenge for yourself and possess considerable restraint, or you are burdened with unfathomable boredom. either way, i was curious as why you bothered to show up at all?"

"It's my party, man." Garrett shrugged, patting someone's shoulder as they walked past and told him what a great game he played. "We just won a hockey game. It's hard to keep up with everyone that walks through the door, not that I'm avoiding them." He mentioned, taking a sip from his cup, yet maybe he was bored, like something was missing that would've made this party more fun.
