Another failing mall, this time a strip. Closter Plaza has been like this for years - most of the space is empty (maybe Rudy's Pizza hangs on), litigation has slowed down the promise of new life. Maybe there are better ways than a combination of supermarkets, drug stores, office supply merchants and the like to revitalize the property and the area (in Bergen County, northern NJ). Any ideas?
It was just a year ago that Jill Anderson closed her wonderful shop on E. 9th Street in the E.V. of A. -- it belonged no place but in the East Village, right in that very spot. Those of us who were devotees of Jill's amazing designs-- beautifully crafted and fitting dresses, skirts, pants, tops and more--so miss this special place. I treasure and always will the many pieces I own. This is a belated thank you to Jill. Here's to hoping you are out there doing what you do so well, and that we might all be lucky to cross paths with you again someday.

LK posted about the Ridley Howard show currently at Koenig & Clinton in NYC, so I went searching online for more about this Brooklyn-based artist. This link is about a 2005 show of the artist's work at Zach Feuer Gallery.
