Most Popular vs Favorite Stories
Thank you for tagging me, @batrogers !
To get "most popular," I looked at which stories appeared most often in the top 6 (had to go down that far to break a tie) for each category of hits, kudos, bookmarks, and comment threads (and skipped over an anonymous story I'm not yet willing to fess up to). Everything here is from Rupees and Rods, my long-running Link/Ravio series.
1: over a table. The very first in the series! Makes sense that people start here, and it establishes the dynamic of Ravio bossing Link around and Link being surly about it but liking it more than he cares to admit. Lots of denial, Ravio being a horrible bossy tease, and Link getting unexpected feelings about it.
2: against a wall. Part 2 of the series. Link decides he wants more of what he got in part 1. Sexy undressing, their first use of a toy and a stress pose.
3: over and over again. So the most popular are, in fact, the first three of the series in order. In a slight turnabout from over a table, this time Link has some potion-assisted help in finishing, well, over and over again. And again getting feelings about it. Ravio really wore him out! I think people liked this one for Link's emotional vulnerability.
1: letters sent: Link gets to tease Ravio for once! After tormenting him all day with the Hylian version of sexting, he then had the audacity to make Ravio work for it once he got home. We also got Zeffa out of this one, purely because I needed a way for Link to be sending those letters. I laughed so much while writing this one.
2: a new chair: One of my favorite stories to have Ravio showing rare, honest vulnerability, and a personal favorite moment with both himself and Link running, separately, to the same set of friends after they have an argument. Ravio's emotional response to Link adding him to the house wards later and both Link and Irene panicking over that was another character moment that's stuck with me. I barely even remember what they get up to in the second half, but this is also the story that gave us The Chair so it's a win all around.
3: a question. I still vividly remember Link's panic and needing to get advice while working himself up to popping the big question. I really enjoyed the quiet intimacy of the end of this one, too. It was hard won and marked a big turning point for Link's character!
(Honorable mentions to every time Ravio gets high enough (on pollen or otherwise) to really start running his mouth. That's always very fun!)
