Just got my homie's XLCH off the lift and back prowling the streets of #SanFrancisco this weekend. He snatched this rad photo of it mowing the lawn at #dykebeach before the hipsters woke up.

If you're into trashy biker chicks and tattooed dicks, Gusmano Cesartti has a new book from Alleged Press titled Fragments Of Los Angeles, 1969-1989 and it's fucking awesome.
common motorcycle hand signals
1977 sportster chopper wiring diagram. use at your own risk
just look at that rack of sportster XR750 engines awaiting installation(!)
there's a handful of cool old harley factory pics (like this one I swiped) over at vintage everyday if you're into this type of stuff…
Ode to the 74
500 pounds of black chrome and steel.
With power that seems almost unreal.
Vibrating as it idles, the engine warms up;
Everything is shiny, every bolt, screw and nut.
A little lurch forward as I jam it in gear;
On gets the ol' lady, taking her place in the rear.
Up on to the highway, and back into 4th;
Our destination, just anywhere North.
The engine's running strong, and I can't hear a miss;
The wind hits our faces like a cold whore's kiss.
In the cars that we pass, I see some shaking their heads,
Thinking bikers like us would be better off dead.
Deep in their hearts they would like to be as I,
But brainwashed by society, they keep living their lie.
If anyone, and I mean anyone, were to say;
"Give up this life or with your life you'll pay!"
I would answer, and my words would be few;
"FUCK YOU!"
first you see the paint, then it's the chrome, then the engraving, the mag, the carb… but then HOLY FUCK is that a panhead rear barrel and head on a sportster?!? Another gem from the pages of Easyriders mag circa 1980
someone awesome gifted me a bunch of select Easyriders pages, and I thought Tumblr might get a kick outta this one from September 1980.
"…and there goes any chance of getting an ad from Harley"

Been busy this winter wrenching and helping good friends like Eric and Beth here get their bikes dialed in, but the nice folks at DiCE magazine just added me to the blog roll so thanks for the motivation to kickstart the tumblbot again!
The annual vintage motorcycle 49 Mile Ride is this Sunday, leaving promptly at 9:30 am from Bayview Boat club 489 Terry A Francois Blvd. Any and all brands are welcome—as long as they were built before 1975!
@thrashermag publisher Ed Riggins is selling off his bitchin' 1995 Ducati Monster M900. There's no beastlier machine in such pristine condition as this in Nor Cal for only $3500. Email him direct via ed at thrasher magazine dot com for more info.

Now that my project is up and running I've been paying it forward—getting the homie's bikes back on the road too...(mainly so I have some other idiots to ride with;)
Spent last night wiring, unwiring, and rewiring this wild pan-shovel as a surprise for this bike's current caretaker who hasn't been able to touch it for over a year.
We got Eric G's sporty chop back on the boulevard and running sharp. Sunny summer days in the Mission rule.
"Today was like one of those fly dreams, didn't even see a berry flashin those high beams... I got to say it was a good day"
Max's born free 4 build—go read the story and see all the pics at his blog.
It's fucking epic.
