I know these are oddly specific headcanons but I've thought about this a lot and felt you would like them: Gregory would love Hamilton. 'Dear Theodosia' is easily his favorite song. He identifies the most with Washington but any scene/song involving Phillip turns him into an emotional wreck. His main complaint would be that he wanted to see more of the trial from 'Non-Stop'.

These are all very good!! Modworth would like to confess she usually listens to One Last Time when she’s feeling awful about her dad or scared, so very much approves this.

Headcanon: Ray struggled in school before he worked with Gregory. Gregory often found him getting really frustrated trying to study for his exams and feeling like a failure. Gregory realized that he didn't learn normally and he just needed to "turn his thinking around" so he helped him study and come up with "weird" methods like eating paper and he's very protective of Ray's methods. He wants his assistant to be confident in himself and learn in his own way, even if it's weird to some people.

Yes!!! This is perfect content anon I don’t have the words for how good this is! Gregory firmly believes in and will stand up for unique study methods that don’t make sense to anyone else but are the only way you can remember things.

Slightly different from our regularly 100% positive content but. It’s 100% okay to hate your dad and be angry at him and not want to forgive him. It’s 100% okay if you don’t want to forgive him but part of you does because you can’t shake that guilt and longing to have a proper relationship with him, you don’t have to be completely and utterly certain about your emotions. You just have to remember you’re better off without wasting time on him. I love you. What you are and who you are is valid, and enough. You don’t need to do anything more.

So, Gregorydadworth strives to not be christmas-centric this holiday season because that is boring and people get forced into dealing with christmas EVERYWHERE anyway, so this is a gentle encouragement post to say: If you have any hcs for gregory or the edgeworths celebrating a holiday that isn’t a western christmas (Mod could feed a family with their headcanons because Mod loves christmas hence no more are really needed!) plz do send them in!!

Gregory definitely had to teach small Miles to tie a bow-tie and a regular tie and he definitely Did Not Cry A Little bc he thought he’d be doing this when Miles was way older and all grown up so he was anticipating it in his head as a “My son is all grown up” moment but now he’s going through those emotions with a 6 year old and tbh Miles is concerned.

Gregory took Miles ice-skating once and it was basically him shuffling along the edge holding it with one hand and Miles’s hand with the other while muttering “objection” over and over.

Scenario: Miles gets in trouble for arguing with a teacher, and he comes home on the brink of angry tears.

Gregory encourages Miles to debate and question everything, this enrages the Gregory who believes in allowing children to speak freely and not acting like they have no right to question you.

Out of sheer curiosity, may I ask for Mod's thoughts on the "Misty Fey was Miles' mother" theory?

Okay I don’t agree that this theory is true or likely for reasons I’ll get to in a second but as per the sandwich effect here are 2 reasons I’d like if it the circumstances were different: The M names match and that’s cute, and Mia deciding to become a lawyer because she saw Gregory pursue the truth would be… an AMAZING twist from the writing gods.

However, here are the reasons I don’t agree with it: the ages when you do the calculations, the fact that this would mean misty not only abandoned her own children who she knew had a community around them to raise them but also abandoned a child she KNEW had from his pov been orphaned without anybody to raise him.

And another issue with the theory: The fact that Mia and Miles have NO IDEA of any relation between the two of them. Maya you MIGHT be able to argue wouldn’t remember naturally because she barely remembers Misty. But Mia would have been old enough to remember a little brother by the time dl6 happened. For her and Miles to not even SUSPECT they have missing siblings is out of character for Gregory. He would not have only raised one child and never seen the other two or let them meet their brother because of gender. Gregory Edgeworth does not care about gender and he does not care about your village rules about gender. If Miles and Phoenix were old enough to remember a class trial, Miles was old enough to remember the name Mia Fey / Maya Fey / Misty Fey and trips to a snowy mountain area. The fact that he doesn’t remember anything like this means that for this theory to work, Gregory ignored two of his children. 

I understand why the theory is kind of popular, the extra angst to dl6 (Which I don’t think is needed but that’s because I’m allergic to angst.), the potential for miles and maya to interact more, Miles’s rejection of the spirit channelling VS his blood. But I think it could only work with an ooc gregory OR with a misty who was older, and some serious changes in the trilogy’s writing to imply that Mia at least knew her father and miles well but miles doesn’t remember because he’s spent the last decade suppressing every memory he could get his hands on. (She might have died really early, but she’s channelled a lot during the first two trilogy games. She has her own cases in 3, one of which had her literally facing off against Miles she could have at least reacted in her inner monologue.)

((Of course you could argue Maya and Mia had a different father, not gregory, in which case the story changes and the theory becomes slightly more steady - I mean I’m not comfortable with the notion misty had a son and went “Ew send it away to live with the dad” so I don’t agree with this idea either. I’m also not entirely sure why mia and maya would have the same father but the child born between them would have a different father. See even this justification of the holes in gregory seemingly ignoring 2 kids has holes in it. It’s holes on top of holes.))

With the previously mentioned changes, it’d be an interesting twist in the story of the trilogy and it might work. As a headcanon I think you do you and it’s really interesting, but as a genuine theory I don’t think it stands up to scrutiny. 

Miles’s relatives other than Gregory are in general a slippery slope of theorising thanks to capcom’s kind of awkward writing for any relatives of anyone who aren’t Feys or dead parents.
