I love your Usa Chan XD It's soooooo cute. Can I ask where you found the patterns from or did you make them yourself? I've looked all over and can't find any decent ones. :/ If you made it yourself got any hints on how to make it? Don't worry if not :P P.s. your dragon is also awesomely cute ^-^
thanks! i did make the pattern myself (i couldn’t find any i liked out there either lol so i took it upon myself to make a better one), but i based it off a keychain i bought from amazon. because of this i think it’s only fair i make the pattern public domain…so here it is!
SPECIAL NOTE: if you don’t know anything about sewing or how to construct plushies, do not attempt this pattern yet! PLEASE KEEP IN MIND IT IS UNTESTED AND MAY NEED A FEW MORE ADJUSTMENTS. i have to make another one of these for a commission in november, and at that time i’ll make a tutorial explaining how to put it together.
however, if you’ve got a solid grasp on cutting stuff out and putting it together, be my guest.
feel free to sell any bun-buns you make with this pattern, i just ask that you credit (and link, preferably) because A. that’s the courteous (i.e. RIGHT) thing to do, and B. i want to see the things that you make! if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.
meanwhile, the part you’ve all been waiting for… the patterns!
WARNING: SEAM ALLOWANCE IS NOT INCLUDED ON THESE PIECES! PLEASE ADD ½" (OR 5/8THS IF THAT’S HOW YOU ROLL) BEFORE CUTTING THEM OUT OF THE FABRIC.
if you print each of these 4 images on a full 8.5"x11" size paper you will get a bunny around the size of the one i made, which is appx. 24" from the tip of his ear to his foot.
here are a few more friendly reminders:*there are no notches included on this pattern. i kind of eyeballed everything since i knew how i wanted it to look*when cutting things that have a x2, flip the pattern so that one piece is reversed (if your fabric has a right/wrong side)*i used “safety eyes” purchased at a fabric store*and black embroidery thread for his mouth*it’s possible to sew everything together before turning. leave about a 4" opening on the back so you can turn everything out and after stuffing ladder stitch the opening closed
*the tail is an appx 5" diameter circle with a running stitch .5" from the edge pulled, stuffed, and secured to make the little ball. then i ladder stitched it to the butt
okay i think that’s all for now. keep an eye out for a tutorial coming late september/early november (and thanks whererandomthingscoalesce for your ask!)
