Bards sing of the purple people eater, but few have witnessed it in person. It has one big horn and one big eye, and generally feasts not on living people, who have a tendency to fight back, but on corpses (hence “purple people”). The unfortunate nomenclature has meant that purple people eaters have been hunted almost to extinction, but there exist a few remote tribes who summon it to consume their dead with the holy call “bop bap aboopa lappa loom bam boom”

Tar Toad - Tiny monstrosity, unaligned

Originating from a strange plane populated by age-old machines, this critter was allegedly kept for the tar-like substance it produces. Properly processed, the dark and viscous liquid proved to be a highly potent fuel for any sort of engine. The tar toad, however, must be handled with extreme caution since its peculiar defense mechanism can easily devastate entire regions and lead to a blazing inferno.

Scenes like this are great, because they go into religious horror without making the entire faith evil. Having a demon plainly state that the bishop is an arsehole and deserves hell is always a good plot, especially when the demon IS correct.

but a demon telling you god is real, god is good and god hates your guts quite literally puts the fear of god in you, especially when your about to find out if hes right in about 20 seconds
