Alla Nazimova Madame Peacock, Ray C. Smallwood (1920).
Agree to disagree is never a thing.
I think about dying but I don’t want to die. Not even close. In fact my problem is the complete opposite. I want to live, I want to escape. I feel trapped and bored and claustrophobic. There’s so much to see and so much to do but I somehow still find myself doing nothing at all. I’m still here in this metaphorical bubble of existence and I can’t quite figure out what the hell I’m doing or how to get out of it.

Greta Gerstner Strength They Hold 2014 Digital print, birch wood, archival photo paper Mother Nature is nature personified as a woman measured as the source and guiding force of creation. Trying to capture the truth of what the naked eye sees in nature is difficult but trying to capture the true strength and beauty of a woman is an act of its own. The premise of these pieces is capturing a woman in kind, at her most natural state with her elegant body but not objectifying her body by putting her most delicate features on display. Even though on the surface you may look at a woman and think fragile or even dainty, when aligned with Mother Nature a woman is a force to be reckoned with, exuding strength that is unparalleled. The frame built around each piece is a solid structure representing the might that a woman possesses without taking away from her natural beauty; without creating a complex view of a woman. I sought to show the natural magnitude of a woman through each woman that I photographed.
