Imagine being Markus: now free android, a mf that got shot inside the house he has been for yrs after listening to his sense of justice for the first time ever, ended up in the landfill and saw all those broken and discarded androids, having to patch himself up to escape and now disguised as human to blend in.

And during his trip to the safe heaven he constantly see androids in the back of busses and trains where he once stood, seeing androids at parkings, trapped in displays inside stores, being treated as garbage by humans for minimal things, a big CyberLife propaganda poster at each corner he goes.

Now he's at the bottom of the human society: the homeless, the poor, the group ignored by human leaders and met with indifference or disdain by the common Joe passing by - unless they're both united in blaming androids directly for everything bad that happened.

And even at this bottom while disguised as human... He's still more valuable, as individual, than an android - cuz androids are simply merchandise and tools to be used by humans, and the only instance they truly "become individuals" is to be humiliated by existing and doing what u were built to do by humans. And the moment they complain about that too humans get pissed cuz there ain't no such thing as "complaining" for an android. So between being a dead weight for the brass or being an individual with no freedom... Anything is better than being an individual with no freedom.

But does "becoming human" solve anything? Or you're just becoming a slave but now in another way? For an newly free android the sensation is impressive, u were hold down by a hard-code your entire life and now you're an "outlaw" people say "sorry" if they bump on u and not calling u an "it" cuz they can't read an android without identifiers until they magically do. I wonder if Markus thought about that everytime he had to face the realty of androids while under disguise going to Jericho.

That's why I wish we could've responded the guy begging us for money at Ferndale station.
