What I'm most excited this month is the beginning of the World Cup. There are a lot of issues with this tournament on top of the baseline FIFA corruption, but tbh none of that will ever take away from the rivalries that span generations, the passion of the players and fans, the individual core memories we form that are forever attached to each tournament. I've been watching some past games to jog my memory and the hype is so real.

the answer reads like it came after the mountain, but really it's the other way around. what i want to know is how is that there are so many references to the answer in the mountain? do you have a secret line to jamie? are you jamie?
ASdjakLDA I really could not answer that. Your guess is as good as mine. I had the main beats of TA in mind before I even knew what kind of story was going to get it there. It was always going to end with 2D going to India in some capacity, and it was always going to begin with the death of a parent (which would then lead to reflections on love, grief, etc)...I decided that in 2017. It's wild how it lined up though! All condolences to Jamon though. It's difficult to describe what losing a parent feels like, but I'm happy they were able to process their experience through their art. They made a great album out of it, too.

I think 2Ds journal contradicts Damon’s claims that 2D was happy Murdoc was gone, It seems like Damon wants 2D and Murdoc to hate each other and Jamie and the fandom want the opposite lol.
Yes, lol. The story line contradicting what Damon was saying was the funniest things about P5. Did it also make it even more confusing for what was a very polarized fan community at the time, making the discourse and overall fan experience even more fraught? Yes, lol. But it also helped a lot of us realized how little communication there must be between the different parts of the project (Damon, Jamie, Ed, the label, marketing staff, etc.) Ultimately, I don't think Damon cares that much, hence his lack of knowledge about what's going on with them. I'm not sure he has a lot to do with the fictional character side of things in general 🤔

is it true that Jamie’s son got angry at someone who mentioned 2doc in a DM to him and told them that Murdoc treat 2D terribly or was that fake?
Hmmm. I've never heard of that happening. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but 2Doc seems more accepted these days, so I'd be surprised if someone felt like they had to ask him that question.
In any case, Denholm has a history of being grumpy with fan questions that get too unhinged lmao. The story that I've always known (and lived through) was Denholm getting angry at a fan asking about Murdoc's "16 on tip toes" interview during the great fandom wars of 2018. I still have screen caps of the exchange. In that situation, there were a lot of fans relentlessly attacking people for even liking Murdoc, so fans on all sides were looking for anything and anyone to validate their opinions.
That all being said, Damon has been on record circa TNN stating something to the effect of 2D disliking Murdoc because of how he treats him, and being happy that he's in prison. I wonder if the two stories got conflated here...
Tl;dr final verdict - I'm assuming it's fake since I haven't seen any screenshots, or a story mixed with pieces of truth after years of being passed down from generation of fan to generation of fan. I'm open to counter arguments though.

Hello! Sorry for the late reply and ty for the ask. I've written a couple non-Gorillaz fics in my hiatus, actually, but it's definitely been more infrequent than when I was writing TA. I do plan to return to finishing up my Gorillaz WIPs though as they're still very special to me. It's just so difficult to find the time.
Also, just noticed that The Answer passed 100k views on ao3. Not big in the grand scheme of things, but bigger than I would have anticipated if you asked me when I first started publishing it. Thanks everyone! <3
