i think the thing is ive been told terry pratchett is like this incredibly skilled satirist and. well the book was really funny but what is it saying aaside from "the masses are stupid and incapable of organizing". ok thats uncharitable but like i really dont understand the amazing satire people are seeing (in this book specifically, he probably wrote better ones) its like. kind of surface level and meanspirited observations about society. paired with cops and the fatphobia i just dont love it
