So, update, I suppose
So, I realize that I’ve had a handful of scattered, mostly Animorphs-related posts here, then I dropped off tumblr for a while, and have now re-emerged mostly to riff off of @deusvervewrites on My Hero Academia fanfiction so for anyone who’s been following me and is wondering wtf is happening, here’s the sitch...
So when the pandemic started, I got way into My Hero Academia fanfiction and never stopped. Almost a year ago, I finally got enough spoons and wrote a fanfic called One for All and Eight for the Ninth (which I have abbreviated to 849 because that title was long to type out), which is a polyship fic with Izuku and eight of MHA’s Best Girls (because all of MHA’s girls are Best Girls).
It involves the vestiges of One for All’s past users as major influences on Izuku’s development from near the start of canon and an additional power within OfA where Izuku develops bonds with girls whose traits mirror the past users in some manner (for example, Ochako’s Zero Gravity and Nana’s Float are compatible enough that they form a bond during the entrance exam).
If any of that sounds fun to you, check it out. If it doesn’t, or if you read it and you’re like, “nah”, then no skin off my nose. If you like Bakugou, you’re probably going to have a bad time with this fic, maybe skip it.
I’ve managed to continue the momentum with only a few hiccups in my scheduling, which isn’t something I ever do because executive dysfunction’s a hell of a drug. It kind of exploded in popularity, which I never expected and am still kind of intimidated by that fact. Someone made a TV Tropes page for it, which still boggles my mind.
But, yeah, this is a thing I do now.
