starter call~!
starter call from everyone’s favorite murder child
A smile spread across her lips as he spoke. She’d waited her whole life to meet him, and there her was. Sure, there was plenty she wanted to know. Plenty she wanted to ask him. But she figured that he’d tell her more as time went on. At least, she hoped he would.
“Alright little one, with all of that out of the way. What have you been doing?” He decided at this point that maybe some idle conversation was in order. He doubted he would get much useful information from it, but it couldn’t hurt.
“Well...I met those people you told me about. The Shepherds. One of them used to be with the Grimleal, but now he’s not. He’s kinda funny.” She let out a soft giggle at the thought. It wasn’t often she met someone who reveled in the dead as much as she did. Though, with Henry, it seemed to be their interests were for completely different reasons.

Silver eyes shot upward at the sound of the male’s voice. She sat a bit straighter and gave a quick nod to answer his question. She hadn’t expected to see any other people her size out here. It was kind of refreshing. Maybe he could tell her were she was? That would definitely help.
“Hello. My name’s Chryseis. Sure. You can ask me whatever, I’m kind of an open book.”
Her brother always said talking to strangers was probably a bad thing, but in a place like this, it couldn’t be, right? Especially since she was lost. Henry would probably commend her on such things. At least, she hoped he would. She stood up shakily, holding onto the tree in hopes of regaining her balance. Traveling through those really seemed to take a lot out of her. Chryseis brushed part of her hair back and leaned against the tree, patiently waiting for Lann to speak again.
“Chryseis huh? Nice to meet you!” Well, now that she had given him the go to ask whatever he wanted he didn’t really know where to start. It was to bad Tama wasn’t here or he would have her ask instead she would likely be able to shorten the options of questions. Actually, it might’ve been even better is his sister was here, she always knew just what to ask. Neither of them were here though, so he would have to figure out what to ask, that was more important first even if he had a bunch of side question he wanted to as due to his curiosity.
“You’re not from around here, are you? Most folk around here don’t look like you and any that do well they’re part of the Federation.” He pauses to shake his head and waving his arms around. “I’m not part of their group of course! I’m a mirage keeper.” He was getting a little distracted so he tries to turn the conversation back around it was hard to do without his sister or Tama though. “Did you get through here from a portal? Did some ‘God’ tell you to come here as well? That’s what happened to me.” Well, that probably sounded a bit far fetched so she may not believe him but it was the truth.
“Technically speaking, I guess you could so that.” she replied, slowly trying to process everything he was saying. She’d been following her friends, after all. Trying to do as they were told. Trying to take care of whoever it was they were supposed to find. Yet, here she was in this strange place with this stranger. Looking back on where she came from, she couldn’t exactly call his words far fetched. She heard constant voices in here head, for gods’ sakes. That in mind, his words really weren’t that hard to believe.
“I’m a...a mage, I guess you could say.” she replied, shifting slightly to look for her pegasus, if by chance he was there too. She’d come through the gate with him. It made no sense that he shouldn’t be there with her now. A soft sigh escaped her and she stood up, silver eyes scanning the area. “You wouldn’t have happened to see a black pegasus running around, have you?”
grimassecret:
“Um…sure.”
She shifted slightly and brought her knees to her chest. So some other children had killed the flowers. Or…were they not entirely dead? These felt like important questions, but people thought she was crazy enough as is. No point in bringing any more unwanted attention than necessary. Silver eyes stared at the brunette for a moment longer before her gaze shifted to the flowers he had collected. The finished product did look rather nice on him. She doubted she’d be able to pull such a thing off, however.
“Okay!” Morgan beamed at her and happily took to his task, beginning to pull a thread through one of the blossoms as he spoke. “I like seeing blossoms like this. I try not to pick too many flowers so that new ones can grow, and the old ones are still there to remind people of all the beauty there is in this world, even in the middle of all the fighting and everything, you know.?”
The tactician exchanged a small glance with her before continuing making the flower crown. “It’s important to have hope and things to remind you of all the wonderful stuff there is in this world, epsecially during times like these!”
“Hope...?” she tilted her head slightly, staring at him as he spoke. She did enjoy looking at flowers, but with things the way they were, was there any point. No. There isn’t. The voice urged her to ignore his words. That there was no point in listening to him speak. She did, however. It something entirely new to her. Something quite beautiful.
“Then why do you make these...? Doesn’t it kill the flowers?” Chryseis brought her knees to her chest as she watched him work. What was the point in this other than to make something visually appealing? Was there a point other than just looking nice? “They’re dead, right? They got plucked from the ground and you’re wearing dead flowers on your head.”
“That makes sense.” A small nod was given as she spoke. Looking at it that way, it did make a lot of sense. It was just easier for him to do it that way. She could respect that. Though, there wasn’t anything about Grima that she couldn’t and didn’t respect. After all, he’d been there for her when no one else was.
She was very trusting of him, that alone was evident. The way she just accepted his vague answers without asking for much explanation. This could not be going better. “Good, I’m glad you understand little one.”
A smile spread across her lips as he spoke. She’d waited her whole life to meet him, and there her was. Sure, there was plenty she wanted to know. Plenty she wanted to ask him. But she figured that he’d tell her more as time went on. At least, she hoped he would.
I realize I hit 120 awhile ago, so I’m looking forward to new interactions. c: feel free to like this for a starter
“Well that makes this lots easier…but…Mister, I’m confused. How come I hear you in my head all the time?” she brought her finger to the edge of her lips and tilted her head further. It was something she’d never understood. Yet, it had always been there. Maybe now that she was actually meeting him, he could explain it. Even just a little bit.
“I suppose I’m trying to guide you and what better way to do so than by giving you direct instructions.” He wasn’t sure how to go about explaining this is a way that was both simple and wouldn’t frighten her. The last thing he wanted was for her to get frightened or upset and start rebelling.
“That makes sense.” A small nod was given as she spoke. Looking at it that way, it did make a lot of sense. It was just easier for him to do it that way. She could respect that. “That’s a good point. If you aren’t ready for what comes next, someone could sneak up and then…BAM! It’d all be over.” Chryseis gave a gentle nod, tapping her finger to her chin. Going out with the other always proved interesting. Especially now that she was old enough to understand half of the things that left her mouth.
“But it isn’t something we should worry about for now.” Cynthia laughed, taking Chryseis’s hand in her own, It was a beautiful spring day, they were out in the marketplace. “Usually this is a pretty safe place, and gods, smell those flowers~” She grinned taking in the scene around t hem. People hustled and bustled, but there was just something about the spring that gave Cynthia so much energy.
“They do smell good...” Chryseis trailed off slightly, her eyes shifting to look around them as well. Usually she hated big towns, but being out with Cynthia made her feel a bit better. There was always the odd stare due to the way each of the girls held themselves, but neither ever really noticed. At least, Chryseis pretended not to. “Yeah, you’re right. I guess now isn’t a good worry time.”
“Um...sure.”

“I think so. You sounds lots like the voice, so I’m gonna guess you have something to do with that, right?” she tilted her head slightly as she looked up at the man. He felt familiar in a way. Especially his voice. “And if you do…then that makes you Grima! Right?”
“Yes, I am Grima little one and yes I am the voice you hear. I’m glad you were able to piece that together, it saves me quite a bit of explaining.” Well at least she appeared to be somewhat intelligent for a child, which made things a bit easier.

“Whoa~! It looks so pretty outside today!”
The dark falcon made her way out of her tent and to the nearest tree. It wasn’t very often that they got a day so bright. Half the time it felt like it was always raining. Now, she didn’t mind the rain, but it was always nice to see the sun. There wasn’t even a single cloud up in the sky! Maybe she could find Henry and the two could do something fun today. A hum escaped her as she left her spot among the tree line to search for her brother. Her focus wavered, however, upon spotting the tactician’s son.
What with it being such a nice day, there had been no way Morgan was going to stay cooped up inside. The sun was shining but it wasn’t too hot, either, just the right level of warmth for him. If nothing else, this was certainly perfect weather for making flower crowns! That had been exactly what the young tactician had taken to not long after his venture outside to a nice field very close to the camp. As he threaded the last couple of flowers of his current project together, he hummed a tune that he’d thought up and managed to get stuck in his head all day, but he was never too good at putting words to them. Either way, satisfied with the now finished floral arrangement, he lightly set it atop his head and beamed gleefully.
“Finished! Hopefully it’ll look alright.”
The small flier made her way over to the other, tilting her head curiously. She stared for a moment or two as she tried to figure out what exactly he was doing. Was he killing the flowers? Just to put them on his head? That was dark even for the demented mage. That in mind, Chryseis made her way over to Morgan and sat down cross legged, staring up at him curiously. Usually she’d steer away from the other children since she was never sure of what to think when it came to them, but Morgan had always been a bit different. At least, to her. It was like he had no idea about the things to come. Or perhaps he didn’t want to? She wasn’t quite sure. She just knew he was different than the others.
“What are you doing?”
grimassecret:
“I’m going on a mission for my liege!”
Slender fingers toyed with stands of long blond hair. Perhaps it was time for a trim. After all, it had never been this long back home. Then again, she was older now so perhaps it didn’t matter. Her thoughts were wandering too much however, she was supposed to be having a conversation with this stranger.
“Well…more so for the king than for my liege.”
He nodded. “Neat. What’s the mission, if I may ask?” He took a cherry out of a pouch on his belt, popping it into his mouth. His eyes never leaving the girl.
“It’s a secret.”
She giggled slightly, putting a finger to her lips. Usually she wasn’t allowed to talk about what she was doing unless it was with fellow retainers. Or maybe Iago. She couldn’t recall seeing this guy around before, she figured it would be best to just to keep quiet.
This has been on my mind for long but I’m gonna do this - please reblog this if you’re comfortable with pre-establishing relationships. I do not mean “met at the grocery store two weeks ago” or “have a common friend”, but rather stuff like “have been best friends since kindergrden”, “go for a beer every friday”, “friends with benefits”, “dated in highschool”, “hate each other’s guts because -insert reason-” etc. Something meaningful (but not necessarily shippy) and I mean with muns/characters you have not interacted with, because I cannot believe I am the only one who prefers jumping right into the heart of the human interaction.
