One time I was at work, (I was a host at a local restaurant ) and I try to keep my personal life and and work life separate. I've just heard things are easier that way, I'm fresh out of high school so I tend to listen to the advice my elder co-workers give me about life since they've lived it. Well anyway I was checking out this guys who was polite, like almost too polite liked he'd known me for years even after he left my coworkers asked if that was my dad or cousin or something. He wasn't he had been on my Grindr messaging me the whole time. "Come over to the first booth there's a surprise waiting for you" "Everyone thinks I'm your family anyways it won't be weird you can sit across from me and touch me under the table" "if you don't I'm going to tell your manager and get you fired" stuff along those lines to which I responded "please get me fired it would literally be a blessing I make 7.25 and work 50+ hours this job isn't work it" and blocked him

A year ago a kid on Grindr messages me, saying he'll do anything for some cash. Anything, he just needs money. I end up spending three hours trying to get this kid help. He was apparently just kicked out of his home, way too young to be on Grindr, and was about to be homeless. So in the end I didn't give him money, but last I heard he has a place to live and is doing ok. But it was really unsettling and worrying that this 16 year old boy was about to whore himself out to stay alive

I met up with this guy at his house, and he seemed really nice and normal (of course, that was too good to be true). We were talking, and I looked over at his coffee table and saw this handwritten note. I asked him what it was just to be nosy, and he got really nervous and kind of brushed it off. Naturally, this peaked my interest even more, so I asked again wondering why someone would be writing a letter in the 21st century. He ends up telling me it was a note to his ex-boyfriend...who was in prison for double homicide. Turns out his ex murdered a few people a while back when they were in a grocery parking lot or something to that effect. He told him that the dudes were harassing them, so his ex took it upon himself to kill them in broad daylight. It's safe to say that I basically "ran for my life" and never saw him again.

I set up a meet up with this one older guy once. He was pretty cool, so I had some interest. Thing is, a few days before the meet up was supposed to happen, I met the guy who is now my boyfriend. We started talking, got on really well, and eventually arranged a date. Problem was, only day he was free was the day I was meant to meet up with the older dude. Still, I really really liked him so I took it and stood up the older dude. Week later, get a new teacher in my sixth form. Guess who? Thankfully he taught English which I don't do, but it was still awkward as fuck.

I've never met a guy from Grindr, so the only horror story I have is this older guy was messaging me. I tend to try to message back just to be polite because I figure that it doesn't hurt anyone and if there's a natural end to the conversation I'll just stop responding.

And after a few fairly shallow conversations he started making it clear that he was very interested in me and said he was "falling" for me. He wanted to meet and I told him that I would feel uncomfortable because I didn't return these feelings and I wouldn't want to meet and potentially give him any more ideas. He tried again a few more times and then eventually started threatening to kill himself. After I was able to calm him down, I blocked him.

I was out one night and a random older guy messaged me wanting to hook up. I told him I couldn't that night. He replied with something like "But you're already walking around town." I didn't reply, and he sent another message saying "I can tell you're walking down 'STREET NAME'. We're already so close to each other". I was indeed walking down that very street. I closed the app and basically ran home.

Him and I were messaging since early last week and I really did not feel him -- personality wasn't attractive and rather off-putting. Also, I like when a guy has stability in his life (a job or school) and unfortunately he did not. Some of the things he said were just like "alrighty then.." Me, being the naive 20 year old that I am, agreed to meet up even though he proposed cuddling on his bed. I said that sexy times were a firm no and that I'm looking for a date.

The guy picks me up and he magically gained a bunch of weight. I am 6'1ish and somewhat slim/average. Let me say I have no problem with heavier guys. But he was really big and his photos never gave that away so I was shocked. And he was diva-like, not flamboyant. Being a diva bothers me and flamboyancy does not. He was saying "word," "thot," and "dayum" with an annoying tone.

When I got in the car, he was staring at me for a kiss. I knew where this was going so I only gave a handshake. We're on the way to his home and I'm getting questions about my sexuality, coming out, and all that jibber jabber. It was uncomfortable so I kept trying to change the subject. Then we're on the highway and he gets worried for a moment when a cop in the distance had his lights on. I'm confused and then he blurts out that there is a warrant out for his arrest. I wanted to do a GTA dive-out-of-the-moving-vehicle maneuver. It had something to do with tickets or whatever.

We get to his place and go to his room that does not have a door. He hits the lights and sits on the bed which had my heart racing. He sets up a movie and lays down and even asked if I wanted to get under the covers. I, however, sat Indian style near the edge because I was not going to have a move be made on me. He was grabbing his crotch and whatnot. Fuck that. We traded maybe ten sentences total during the movie and he texted almost the whole time.

The movie finally ends and he drops me off. I thank him for his time and start sprinting down the block to my house. Texted my friend "I need a drink" and I have never had a drop of alcohol in my life.

I met this guy on grindr, he seemed really nice and cool. We talked for hours and I was really starting to enjoy talking with him. He invited me to his house various times... But I told him I was not confortable with the idea (he lived like 3 hours away). Instead I told him we could meet somewhere halfway and in a public place, he agreed. We were supposed to meet after I came out of work. But when I came out, I called him and he didn't answer. The day after, he told me that he had gone out with some friends that night... After that I really lost interest in him... But he sure dint loose interest in me. I still talked to him but not in the same way I used to. At one point he started to get really persistent.. Always asking me where I was, with who I was, what was I doing... I started to talk less and less to him but he didn't get the message... It got to the point where I told him I was not interested in him and wanted nothing to do with him... he still kept talking to me everyday. So I decided to block him. He then proceeded to contact me from a different phone, and that's when I knew this guy was a bit psycho... I blocked him again and that was that for about 2 weeks. Then I was working (retail) minding my own business when suddenly I saw him (he lives 3 hours away, so why on earth would he be here... Also I had told him where I work and my usual shifts... big mistake) ... I shat my pants. And just ignored him. He didn't say anything to me, but after he left the store, he texted me from yet another cell phone "stupid bitch". This all happened on Friday. I have not seen him on the store again and hope not to see him... Really scared of what he might do next.

About 4 years ago (maybe more) I was home alone as my roommates were out of town. This guy who had been hitting on me for a few years on other networks even going back as far as myspace, hit me up again on this particular night. I was incredibly bored as my roommates had been gone a couple week, so I invited him over. We were both drinking and playing pool, I was drinking much more that he was and he started making moves on me, and so he led me to my bedroom. I really didn't want to mess around, and so as he started to rim me, i let out a fart into his mouth. Apparently he wasn't into that because he got up and left and I never saw him online again.

I recently moved in with my sister after graduating from college to an area that's quite foreign to me. I go on grindr and put up that I'm looking for a tour guide - I know that doesn't sound so genuine knowing what grindr is usually used for, but once my family that's vacationing with here leaves, I'm going to be pretty bored without any friends.

I tell him that I'm new here and that I'm looking for jobs. He asks for my background and then recommends me to look into his company because they're always hiring for things that I am interested in. I go on the website and see a couple recent job postings that are just what I'm looking for. He even says I can use him as a referral and he's willing to look over my resume and cover letter.

I'm pretty stoked about it and crossing my fingers now.

I started using Grindr last spring. Started talking to a guy a little ways away from me. We talked for a few days and then agreed to hookup but when we met up we ended up like each other a lot and now 7 months later we're a relationship brought about by a Grindr hookup. I was bored yesterday, and decided to download Grindr again on my phone. At first, I was looking for a hookup (I've lost faith in Grindr's ability to provide an avenue for real human connection a long time ago). I was browsing through the profiles in my area, and found some hot dudes. Messaged some of them. Flirted with a few.

There was this photo which looked to be that of a cute guy, but what interested me more was the message on his profile. I've heard those words somewhere. I then figured out. It's one of those very obscure quotes from a really good TV show that got cancelled several years ago, but I was just amazed that this guy probably liked the show as much as I did. I sent him a message, referencing the character who said that quote, but I didn't expect much. We ended up chatting for a bit. Then I decided to ask him out for coffee after work, and we agreed there'd be no malice here; just two guys sharing a common interest and looking for new friends in a new area.

It turns out we had a lot more in common than I originally thought. He's a pretty cool bro, if I may say so. Ended up having dinner at a rather fancy restaurant, although neither of us would peg that as a date, at least I didn't want to acknowledge it as a date since we both agreed we're just looking for friends. But I had a pretty awesome night.

Afterwards, he dropped me off where my car was parked. I wanted to give him a bro-hug before we parted ways, but I just went for a firm bro-handshake; I felt like I'd be overdoing it if I reach out to hug him in his car.

We ended up texting each other the rest of the night, and then since this morning. Just mundane stuff, like how bad the traffic was this morning, or how nice the weather outside today is and why we're stuck inside our offices instead of enjoying the outdoors.

I think we're gonna be really good friends. I wouldn't mind being more than that eventually, since he's so cute and so adorable, but right now I feel like I'm very comfortable just talking to him and I'd wanna hang out with him some more. I'm probably gonna invite him out for coffee again tomorrow. I've actually never felt this comfortable with another person before.

Maybe he'll end up reading this. He did say he used to lurk on reddit. But I'd like to let him know my day today has been a lot better than I expected it to be just coz' I'm talking to him.

I talked with this guy for a bit and we added each other on Facebook. Then I figured out he was a creep and was trying to cheat on his boyfriend with me and I cut all communication with him and blocked his number. Dude keeps making new grindr profiles and trying to talk to me and I keep blocking him. Today was the 7th (or so) time and he messaged me and said something along the lines of "hi (my full name here) it's (his name)" so I told him to fuck off and that I wasn't interested... He blocked me but now I'm paranoid and am deleting my grindr profile completely. Yikes.
