Update - July 17th, 2013
As one can see I have taken another break from the blog. I guess juggling work, school, and my "social life" (if I can even claim to have one at this point) is a bit tougher than I thought.
I have run into quite a few problems these past couple months:
A Film Explains What Really Happened on Cinco de Mayo
Before you grab that margarita or a beer to celebrate Cinco de Mayo this Sunday, Dallas-based Mexican actor Kuno Becker wants everyone to watch the film “Cinco de Mayo: La Batalla” and get educated first.

Cinco de Mayo is NOT the Mexican day of independence, nor even a national holiday here in Mexico. It is a day which commemorates the famous Mexican-French battle in the city of Puebla, México where a few hundred Mexican soldiers defeated a French army of a few thousand.

Some basic facts about a typical mexican alcohol that most of you most likely know very well… Tequila. Please notice, Cinco de Mayo is NOT a Mexican holiday…at least not in the sense that you would think.
If you find yourself near a tequila bottle, pour your friends and yourself a shot and repeat the following (with lime and salt nearby for wimps):
¡Padre Nuestro, que bueno está esto!
¡Santa María yo no quería!
¡Arriba! ¡Abajo! ¡Al centro! ¡Pa’ dentro!
Salud amigos.
Changin' up the flavor a bit. In light of Thursday night - the night to go to the local salsa joints, this week I'm exposing you all to another popular sound here in Mexico... salsa music. Check out this song "Aguanile" originally sung by the late, great, Hector Lavoe.
[PHOTOS] 25-Year-Old Unites LA Community Through Murals
Levi Ponce grew up in a not-so-vibrant suburb north of Los Angeles, known for its gangs — the same neighborhood that former gang member turned actor Danny Trejo is from. But when he moved away to California State University Northridge at 18, instead of forgetting his past seven years later, he came back to his hometown to make it a prettier place.
