you HAVE to call out violent behavior in your own ranks. there’s this mentality in sports fandom (here on tumblr and otherwise) that fans of other teams can and will talk shit on you and it’s because they’re a rival. “haha of course they’re butthurt at me, they’re a madridista”

but when someone in your own group calls you out on gross behavior, that mentality is challenged. the homophobes and the racists don’t have their team to hide behind anymore. and you are telling everyone in your fandom that such behavior is not welcome.

you HAVE to do this, or you’re complicit in their behavior. you’re endorsing hate. you’re encouraging hate.

so, Gigi Hadid gets ASSAULTED??? by some horrible dude, he picks her up (in public!) and manhandles her and touches her without permission (and you can see if you slow down the vid that he also touched her private places so!! he didn’t just pick her up without permission, he also did that which makes it even worse) and she elbows him in the face DESERVEDLY while her useless bodyguards stand around and then hold her back after she tries to go after him (because the coward ran away after she fought back) and WHAT???? the media attacks her??? they call him a ‘fan’ and a prankster and say she lashed out at him…WOW i’m so glad she defended herself, i’m so proud of her, i’m so glad the moment was filmed because you can see everything that has happened and hopefully they will catch him!!! and i’m so glad people are jumping to her defense because the tabloids painted her out to be some angry girl that can’t take a joke while the literal video shows what actually happened and that her actions were completely justified

Advice by a guy who likes football: you should tone it down when it comes to what players you think are hot. That's why guys don't respect girls when it comes to football: they might now a thing or two, but they ruin it by being too vocal about the player's looks.

advice by a girl who doesn’t give a fuck: the reason why guys don’t respect girls when it comes to football is because those guys are insecure little pricks who are scared of a vagina with an opinion on something they consider to be strictly masculine and they try to disguise it as respect. ironically enough, we don’t want to be within a one mile radius of guys like you, so don’t worry, you’re safe, your home made girl repellent is working.

i’ve got news for you and the rest of the male chauvinistic pigs out there: a girl equalizing you in football knowledge does not make you less of a man. being a sexist ass with no balls to even show his face does. because a real man acknowledges a woman’s opinion without trying to resort to biology to rule it out.

YOU should tone it down with the pep talk, buddy. i’m not apologizing for being a football fan who happens to be a straight woman. life is not a video game, you don’t need man points to get to the next level.
