i’m from (one of) the homicide capital of the united states

today is my twenty second fourth of july being alive and for the first time woke up naturally

no fireworks for the days surrounding the holiday with gunshots sprinkled in and thinly veiled as other explosives

i woke up next to my lover sleeping soundly while the french sun and subsequent heat fills our room

i hear birds and only birds and i bask in this quiet for awhile

a quiet it takes twenty years to hear

love your tatts, they're very much along the lines of what i eventually want to go for. what would you say you've spent on some of your major pieces in that binding pic? (ex. the collarbone stuff, your scorpion, etc.) i do realize that it's very dependent on the artist and such but i want to know a ballpark amount of what i should start setting aside :)

hm i spend two to three hundred total for majority of my pieces though a lot of them are by folks i know which has its perks

my stomach pieces specifically were both done by my buddy lane 🐾 @puppy4sale

i’ve been tattooed in tennessee, florida, chicago (basically its own state) and here in france with most tats happening after coming in with like two hundred bucks in my pocket

since my chest is making rounds again. reference pics + FAQ

i’ve been tape binding for seven years

all of these pics are from 2024 - 2026 to show the differences in application while both my body weight and chest size fluctuate

taping is not one size fits all, there’s a learning curve to the process, but this is the only way i’ve bound my chest since 2022

even with the skill i’ve developed i still itch, blister and rash on occasion. it’s worth it to me but may not be worth it to you, the same way i can never wear a binder again but other mascs can

i change the way i apply my tape based on the season or even situationally, using less in the summer or unnatural colors during the winter

i’m considering making some videos or diagrams eventually to show my process as there’s a lot of curiosity, but i feel like visually seeing different applications is enough in the meantime

feel free to send specific asks if you have a query for yours truly

and while excitement / appreciation is flattering please keep in mind i’m married and be respectful

Mr. Grizzle, you have one of the best tape bound chests I’ve seen, and are making me wanna retry taping. If it’s not too much trouble, which tape do you use? Generic KT or something else?

i use generic 4” wide kinesiology tape these days

i’ve been tape binding for seven years and for the first few exclusively bought from transtape but their product worsened and i’ve gotten better results elsewhere

i’ve enjoyed tape from transguysupply and urbasics if you want to support queer owned companies, i enjoy their range of size options and skin tones

over the last year i’ve opted to buying in bulk from amazon as i use both saniderm / tegaderm in addition to kinesiology tape - it’s the most cost effective for me while limiting the frequency i have to use an evil corporation

while kt tape and its generic versions don’t really work for me due to the size of my chest it can work in a pinch + can easily be Five Finger Discounted from target or walmart or walgreens

the double edged sword with being asked for tape tutorials is yes would love to but it also implies showing my chest unbound to start

these get reposted a whole lot from here to reddit to twitter to tiktok and on and on, and i don't personally care whether or not i'm credited. i made these for everyone to use, enjoy, and find meaning in them. i appreciate folks who do credit me, but if able, please at least link to the threadless shop in the previous post - folks can get an official shirt where 90% of earnings go to trans led orgs focused on mental health (which is an important matter in general, but very personal to me) and not from a scam bot site selling AI-churned maga garbage where you probably won't get one anyway. i also suggest downloading the files from my ko-fi - they are free/PWYW and you can use them to make your own shirt, patch, embroidery project, whatever. tips are always nice, cuz i do like a pizza now and then, but never required for download.

final thought - breaking the pride tradition and more than likely won't make a new piece. the top one from TDOV is all i'm making this year. i have my focus on other projects currently and i don't want to force a poster design. these came from a specific head space and my current head space is Very Tired lmao so i wanna work on other things. 👍
