Guess who just read Bonhomme's new Lucky Luke comic! I want to share my thoughts, because this comic was way funnier than I expected it to be(beware for spoilers):
• I like how it centers around the fact that trees are being cut down and that it's a terrible thing. Especially in this day and age where we are very much, experiencing the consequences.
• You know, Luke is really taking a lot of damage in this story(slapped, knocked out, the cold)
• Luke saying he doesn't smoke so they(the native americans) suggest weed 💀
• "About you, they say you could descent from an indian. Does your heart remember that?" hey, bro, you might wanna explain that? bonhomme? anytime now, i'm waiting
• Luke acts like such a teacher omg. Good on Red Cloud for just being like "im gonna annoy the hell out of this guy"
• "What's your horse name?" "Jolly Jumper." "Is it a male or female?" "Male." "Then why'd you give him a female name?" 💀
• "Isn't Lucky Luke a good friend?" "Averell, come closer." [Joe beats him] Ah, yes, those are the four brothers I know.
• not will and jack putting a snowball on joe's head to calm him down 😭
• "I bet you've never had a woman. Did you ever meet one? Have you ever been in love? No, cause otherwise you wouldn't be here, being such a grumpy.." brave kid, ill tell you that
• I find it interesting how they just don't get along. In the comic where the Daltons become uncles, Luke sets out to teach their nephew and they get close rather quickly. But here, Red Cloud angers him and annoys him to the point he actually lashes out and Red Cloud runs away. (And Jolly being an icon going like "so? you gonna apologize or what?" without saying a word, afterwards)
• they made up! (that is, luke and the kid)
• Luke teaches Red Cloud how to write his name, this shit is too cute (reminding of oldtimer, anyone?)
• "The children of the tribe called you buffaloman." "Because of my thick coat." "No, because you eat grass." you quit smoking and everyone just takes it personally, huh
• are we gonna talk about that one moment where they're about to cross the river and you can see luke's ribs. jesus what a fucking twig of a man
• not averell waving when they get arrested 💀
• "He loves you like a father." 😭 "But he already has one." "With us, a child can have multiple fathers. If you want.. you have a son."
• Luke rejects parenthood and goes "Besides, I need to take care of my horse already," as if we don't know it's Jolly who takes care of Luke. Sure, bro, keep telling yourself that
• "A lonesome hero. How boring." 😭 😭
I enjoyed this story way more than I thought I would. From the summary it seems like an action story, but I laughed a lot while reading. Red Cloud is very cute, I hope he comes back in a future story!
