The "message" that had been sent to the Grounders via the blonde girl called Andromeda definitely had frightened the small girl. It had frightened her so much that she no longer spent too much of her time exploring nor going near the Sky People. She had, in fact, been quite the outstanding Grounder citizen as of late. It irritated her to no end. After only a short time of it, she needed some sort of break. She finished her tasks for the day and then headed off to a waterfall that was close to her village. She removed her clothes and jumped into the water's depths, letting it soothe her as it rushed over her. Soon, she heard footsteps approach and looked for the source. Her hands reached for her knife quickly out of instinct. "Who's there?" She called out. She carefully dipped her body under the water and held the knife in her hand as she searched the area for the source of the sound.

Zeus lowered his knife as the sound of his native tongue. He let a breath he didn’t realize he was holding and put his blade away. He caught eyes with the grounder in front of him and he furrowed his brows a bit. “What are you doing out so late?” Zeus quickly asked her, wondering why she had returned so late. Normally if it had been a familiar warrior, Zeus would accept it with no question but it was an odd time for her to be arriving back to the village. “Skai kru... you didn’t see them, did you?” Zeus asked her.

"I was looking for herbs for the healers," She said. The lie came easier than she had thought and almost frightened her. She was getting better at fabricating lies. She wondered, vaguely, if that should concern her. "Unfortunately, I didn't find what I was looking for," She added. Half-truth. She didn't stumble upon any old sites that might have items from the past within them. At the mention of the Sky People, she shook her head. "I didn't run into any of the Sky People on my journey, no," She said. Her mind wondered back to the boy she had met a few days prior. He seemed so kind and nonthreatening. She truly didn't know why her people were so afraid of them.

He followed her over to the couch and plopped down beside her on the fluffy couch. “It can be hard to tell in the forest, I’m used to the ark, everything’s very clearly marked”. He looked her over, his people were often suspicious as to where he was going at all hours, “do you get in trouble for leaving all the time?”

"I tried to make a system of following my footsteps back," She said. She frowned, "It didn't really work out. I'm not the best tracker." She immediately nodded when he asked if people got frustrated with her leaving. It seemed like that was a frequent occurence. It mostly came from her older sister though. "Yeah. I think my older sister gets the most frustrated though," She said.

"Really? Then what did you do today, Kat? My guess is stray off to somewhere you weren’t supposed to.”

I've never heard such lies, Hen! You know that I always stay right here in the village.. working with the healers like a good girl.

Zeus had been patrolling the borders of his village the entire night. He didn’t trust those sky people, no matter the fact that these strangers were just children, he didn’t trust them. He knew how dangerous a child could be given the right circumstances, that’s how he ended up a warrior amongst his people. Suddenly Zeus caught a shadow not too far from where he was standing. “Hod op!” He called out to the person, taking up his dagger.

.Katerina had been headed back from her adventures from that day. She actually hadn't spent time watching the Sky People. She, instead, had been trying to see if she could find more items that had been lost from the past. She had admittedly gotten wary of spending too much time around the Sky People. She really didn't want anyone in her village to grow suspicious of her travels to where the Sky People resided. Soon, she heard a voice speak in her native tongue. Her hazel eyes soon caught sight of one of their warriors with a dagger pointed at her. "Pað er bara ég." She said to him calmly.

"And why do you think that is?"

"I don't know. I'm absolutely innocent, of coure."

Grey dropped down into the bunker, and his eyes widened as he took it all in. The war had always seemed so distant, like a story told to children to keep them from misbehaving, but being here and on earth changed that. Being in this bunker he could see what it must have been like for all the people who had been stuck down here in the darkness just in the hopes of surviving. He walked forward running his hand over an old barrel most likely used to store food, “this place is amazing”. He continued to look around before turning back to the girl, “how many of these have you found?”

Kat beamed once she saw his response to the bunker, clearly pleased that he liked it so much. She walked over to the couch that set in one corner of the room and plopped down on it. Her tiny frame practically sank into it. She shrugged her shoulders at his question. Honestly, she wasn't sure. It wasn't like she had found that many. She just usually couldn't recall them once she had found them, especially as the years grew on. "I don't know. I have trouble remembering where they are sometimes. That's why I grab the things that I really enjoy out of them," She admitted with a blush. She sighed, "But, I have found a few over the years.. especially since I spend the time that I should be in the village out exploring."

"I’d love to see", he admitted, this place was filled with new things. As long as no one back at camp realized he’d been sneaking around with a grounder he’d be fine. The girls way of looking at things brought a smile to Grey’s lips, "I’m glad some things did". When she took him by the hand he couldn’t help the goofy smile that crossed his lips as he followed her towards this mysterious place in the ground.

It wasn't too far of a walk from where they were. Once she got there, she lifted up on the handle in the ground that was barely visible from the moss. It led down to a small underground bunker that appeared to have been set for people to have stay there for quite some time. It was quite obvious that she had been there for some of the stuff had been cleared out. But, this was one of her more recent finds as it still had quite a bit of stuff in it. "Well-- here it is," She said with a proud smile.

He looked at the things she had, some of the things were obvious, the kinds of things he’d see anywhere but some of them were just stories of things he’d never thought he’d really see. “Where do you find all of it?” He was somewhat mesmerized by the assortment of items, of long lost memories of a time long ago. He couldn’t help the words that passed his lips, no more than a whisper, “the whole world is a graveyard”.

"I can show you. One of the spaces in the ground isn't far from here," She said. Katerina had barely caught the words that passed the boys lips. They were barely audible for they were just a slight whisper. She still heard them. The whole world is a graveyard. Honestly, the words made her shudder for a brief moment. She remembered something though that brightened her spirits rather quickly. "My people often talk about the war. The one that was supposed to wipe out the entire Earth? Yet--- somehow, my ancestors made it through all that," She said. She then smiled softly, "Maybe some things are meant to live despite it all." The people from her village always told her that she was fiercely naive like a child. They told her that she needed to get her head out of the clouds and grow up. But, maybe, sometimes the childlike type of faith was what some people needed. Without saying another word, she grabbed the boy's hand and began to lead him towards the bunker where she had found her items.

 He watched her while a smile pulled at his lips and as he watched her perform her small greeting. He tried to copy her movement before taking another peak at the various objects the girl had,”so you collect all this stuff? What’s it used for?”

"Nothing really," She said. It was true. Most of the stuff that she collected was virtually unusuable. There were various items such as cameras, old toys, books, etc. They were just random things that she would find in bunkers that people had tried to retreat to before the nuclear war. "They are just random things that I've found in these.. spaces in the ground? I don't think most of the things work like they are supposed to. But, they are still sort of.. interesting." She admitted with a shrug.

          Scotty had expected to be afraid when she turned around, but he wasn’t. He even felt the corners of his mouth tilt upwards in a slight smile. He almost felt bad for making their encounter so uncomfortable only seconds before. "I'm Scotty,” he answered, and took another, more confident step toward the girl. "You are?” he gave her a small smirk to show her that he was now almost entirely comfortable with her.

Once she realized that the boy in front of her was entirely comfortable, a full smile tugged at the corners of her lips and lit up her features. Scotty. That was certainly an interesting name. She supposed though that the Sky People thought the people from her village were the ones with the strange names, however. "I'm Katerina," She said.

"Sort of. It looked like you were planning something, but then maybe I was wrong."

"You always say that I look like I'm planning something, Hen."

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Like what? Was I looking at you strange?"

He looked down at the small girl, chuckling as she looked puzzled by his outstretched hand, “I guess you guys don’t do handshakes do you? All you do is shake my hand, how do your people greet each other, we can try that?” He couldn’t help but be charmed by the girl in front of him, “It’s very nice to meet you Katerina, since you dropped the whole knife thing and all”.

"Hand...shake?" She questioned, repeating the strange word. She still looked puzzled as he explained what she was supposed to do. But, then, she nodded when he asked her to show him what they did when they greeted to eachother. She smiled before placing her fingers together and moving her hand around in a small circle. "It's nice to meet you too, Grey," She replied, figuring that it was custom to say that.

Grey chuckled at the girls innocence, “don’t worry about it, what’s a little piece of metal to a macho man like me?” He joked. Now that he wasn’t nearly as frightened by the girl he couldn’t help but quickly looking her over, she was very small, and the way her eyes took everything in reminded him of a curious child. He slowly stood and extended a hand to the girl, “I’m Grey, but feel free to call me sky boy”.

There was the slightest hint of a smile at his comment. It was clear that he wasn't any sort of warrior. He certainly didn't look like any of the warriors from her village. Honestly, the boy in front of her seemed to be all limbs. She doubted that he had ever been in any sort of combat. Her eyes looked down at the hand that he had extened to her, instantly confused in what she was supposed to do. The idea of a handshake hadn't exactly been used in her village. It was always more along the lines of waves and bows. "I-- I'm Katerina," She said.

"I’m like your very own sky person or something", he nervously joked. Before eyeing her knife again, "you know I’m really enjoying this chat of our but I would definitely enjoy it even more if you ditched that lovely accessory of yours", he said gesturing to the knife on the girls hip.

She glanced down where he was gesturing and looked surprised that she was still holding tightly to her knife. Honestly, she didn't realize that she was still holding on to it. She supposed that it was just an instinct that came with being a Grounder. You were raised to always be on your toes, to always be on guard. "Oh, sorry," She said, moving her hand away from the knife. "It's just a uh... reflex, I suppose," She said, shrugging.
