Each submission is to be a one-sided 8.5 x 11 surface. this will save on our printing costs and kind of relieve the pressure of having to fill more than one surface.
Please write any proper credits and contact info you'd like to leave on the back for us to use on an "acknowledgements" page.
I've modified the original post to include this change. I suspect more are on the way, but after some thinking, one page should do it.

To put it bluntly, though this idea was very neat, it was also very hard to execute for a number of reasons. I'll admit, the design of the old plan was difficult, time consuming, and unreliable. I've been taking some time to think about what I can do to make this project go more smoothly the next time around and the following is my favorite solution, as you have noticed with the name change: grungezine

The Project:
A book will be put together by yours truly (and any volunteers who are interested) using pages authored, designed, illustrated, and created by all of our participants. Each participant will be allotted at most one full page (8.5 x 11 inches, one side) in which to create their zine page. The zine pages will then be sent to a central location to be collected. All submissions gathered by the deadline will be assembled in order of which they have been received into a bound book. Proper funding will allow this book to be copied, printed, and sold if resources allow. The original book's fate will be voted upon by all participants, but it is my hope we can send it to someone who appreciates it or at least take it to a place where we can all meet in the coming years.
The theme of the project is still the same: This zine is to document the thoughts, ideas, and creativity of an internet community of friends, fans, and bloggers who have come together because of music. Though the project has the word 'grunge' in it, it is not at all limited to or defined by said name.Don't even think about wondering if you can submit because you're not in some "fandom." If you are reading this, we want you.

No limits to the number of participants- we used to have 100, now the number is completely open

Absolutely no concerns for URL changes like last time
One location. One mailbox. One address made public to all to view and send whenever, wherever.
No shipping costs- at most, a few stamps will be sufficient
Your design, your creation, your ideas. Load the page[s] up with whatever you please. More details about requirements and rules below. Stickers? Drawings? fan fiction? Lyrics? Rants? Want to kiss the page? selfie? A photoshopped image of Dave grohl's 180 necks? Dump glitter on it? All of the above? It's your page. Want to use notebook paper, printer paper, parchment, a paper grocery bag, or tin foil? Up to you!
Free options: if you are unable to access mailing, you will be free to scan and email your page to a central email address, where your design will then be printed and added from there. You may create a digital piece as well.
Multiple format final product: the book will be scanned in full to be put up as a website, a PDF file, and hopefully a physical copy for all to enjoy regardless of when and where. A digital version may open the doors to user submitted videos.

Will not destroy the project as a whole if lost in the mail. The plan is bulletproof at least in that sense. This is the biggest and most useful change.
You don't have to wear a suspiciously dirty shirt that may or may not fit you.
Hopefully all submissions I receive will receive a thank-you gift
How you can help:
Donations: I would like to purchase a PO box to protect my privacy. This will directly affect the duration of the project as a PO box is a monthly charge
Donations: I hope to publish a physical copy of the zine to give to all participants. Additional funding will cover distribution and printing costs. Depending on the number of submissions, this zine may be split over several issues.
Buying stuff from me: As I'm not a fan for simply asking for money, I would like to sell some of my collection to help fund the project, as well as perks for the magazine such as extra pages, a credit on the contributions page, and more.
Spreading the word: All of your help from the last project truly gave the idea a boost. Your continued support is much appreciated. We were so lucky to have volunteers working tirelessly on our social networks and online presence.

Rules:
Submission (physical or digital) is to fit into an 8.5 x 11 inch booklet. Anything larger will be cut down to size, anything smaller will be attached to an 8.5 x 11 sheet to conform
Submission can be on any type of paper or paper-like surface (cardstock, thin cardboards, posterboards, newsprint, photo paper, parchment etc all A-OK)
Submission is to be on one side with credits and contact info you wish to be published on the back. If you would like to remain anonymous, please write "anonymous" or make up a name you'd like to use. You may provide your URL on the page itself or with your mailing contents so I can personally notify you that I have received your submission. This way, I can honor your anonymity.
1 page per participant, please. Any additional pages will be excluded from the publication.
Glue-on elements are acceptable and encouraged (ie: glitter, magazine cutouts and collages, stickers, jewels)
There will be a deadline [TBA]. Submissions received after the deadline will only be available online.
Content is completely up to you, but keep in mind this is going to be published, distributed, and seen by many. All content will be reviewed by yours truly and I reserve the right to use my discretion on the content if I deem it inappropriate. If you have any questions regarding the appropriateness of your designs, please ask me. Everything is fair game except for using this zine as a platform to spread malicious, oppressive hate speech. We'd also like to refrain from underaged nudes. Don't make me ask for your license.
Tips:
Give us a short bio on the back of your page, including your name, location, favorite band, and a description of you. Not required, but completely appreciated
Mail your page in a cardboard envelope obtainable at most post offices with a DO NOT BEND sticker if you wish to keep your page straight and fold-free. Not required, of course.
Scan your page even if you are sending it in the mail. It won't hurt so much if it gets lost and you can always send us the scanned version.

the Grunge Shirt is still a thing, so don’t panic ok, i’m waiting for the shirt to arrive, how come none of you guys have posted anything about it yet?
hey wow stop taking some people’s opinions and blanketing them over an entire community. some people like courtney love some people don’t but by no means has anything that has transpired apply to every single person in this community or represent them as a whole. “grunge fandom this, grunge fandom that,” we’re not a megazord here, we’re individual people. we don’t all connect up into once piece and make some giant robot with some collective, understood, and universally accepted opinion on ANYTHING except that we like some music that came out from some bands. don’t throw any one person or group of people under umbrella ideas or terms because they subscribe to a taste in music. it’s music and preference, not political soap boxing. just because people don’t agree about something doesn’t put a knife between them. my boyfriend likes bacon and i don’t but that’s not stopping the relationship train. please don’t let some people’s opinion on a very divided subject drive a nail between friendships that can be built despite a differing opinion, shit.
shit like that hurts to read man, people fighting and preventing what would otherwise be great friendships because one issue isn’t agreed upon. i’m not going to call it shallow but people have more in common on here than not if you find yourself swimming in the same school of fish when it comes to online communities.
the blue shirt is in dominican republic, i'm the next on the list and i'm still waiting for the shirt to arrive, the girl before me is waiting to get paid so she can ship the shirt, it's been a month already, but i guess i'll have to wait, oh well..
