I wish people would stop downplaying Neville’s fear of Snape. The man was his boggart. When Lupin asked Neville what he was most afraid of, he specifically said Snape. Said it twice actually.

The bullying, ridicule, and torment he got from the man kept Neville on edge whenever he was around him. To suggest otherwise is an insult and also a lie. Especially when both book.and movie says the exact same thing about Neville’s fear.

Thankfully he grew up and eventually overcame it. Which is wonderful. But that doesnt cancel out the fact that he feared him very much at age 13. I

You know what ?i’m tired of people shitting on others houses. So, if you are a Gryffindor and you do this, shame on you. Chivalry also means standing up for people who are not in your house,  especially when people are telling them stuff like “oh you are a Slytherin you’re evil, can’t be trusted” or “you are a Ravenclaw your a snob egg-head” or “you are Hufflepuff ? lol loser house”

So, James goes from Arrogant teenage jerk vs mature responsible father, in no page time (literally three scenes). Taking Sirius and Lupin and Hagrid’s word about James’ good character is exactly as impartial as taking “Lucius speaks highly of you” as a commendation of Snape’s character. Everyone’s great, according to the opinions of the people who like them. But if you want your evidence to be canon-based, there’s absolutely nothing in the text to support the idea that James changed Don’t tell me being ready to die for his wife and kid is proof of character growth, there were Death Eaters who’d do the same. Not joining the dark side isn’t enough either, seeing as he had no incentive to join them, and everything to lose - friends, likability, family, everything he’s known - if he did. It’s really weird how, while Snape’s redemption is so heavily criticised, the redemption of a character which simply consists in getting the girl he wanted is so readily accepted.

I just gotta take a minute and say my husband is amazing... still in the moving process so all my books are still packed. He’s going away for a few days for work and he tells me we’re going out to eat, oh, and also “I wanna take you to B&N so you can get some books to read while I’m gone so you won’t get lonely since your others are in storage”

I wish J.K. Rowling put more thought into the wizarding schools, I know she said there are only 11 HISTORICAL ones but come on, really? Saying that most wizards are homeschooled I feel is a lazy way out. It would be AMAZING for there to be more schools. One school for ALL of Africa? All of North and South America? That’s just stupid. Australia and New Zealand don’t even have one. Europe has three, but does she ever think about how taking kids from Portugal, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg into one school, same with Sweden, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Finland, and Russia in Durmstrang, all of them speaking different languages? There is just a lot of issues I think with how she set this up, and China doesn’t even have a large school, which I think is bizarre.

I get so frustrated when people complain that JK didn’t put more effort into this universe... like she hasn’t given us Pottermore and so much information about so many characters. Ugh ungrateful

I hate the headcanons of Severus being friends with anyone of the Hogwarts staff (bar Argus Filch of course. They have some awesome scenes together). As far as canon goes I don’t remember a single scene that makes me think they must be friends. It makes sense, since they all liked the Marauders. Sev wouldn’t have a friendly relationship with his former teachers who just stood by while he was being bullied. Severus deserves better than being friends with a Marauder apologist like McGonagall.
