The White Stag appears in mythology from all over the world, from India to Japan, North America to Europe. In the legends of King Arthur, the uncatchable White Hart represents humanity’s spiritual quest, always something just out of reach. In Christian symbolism the white stag can sometimes be seen as a symbol of Jesus, the Light. The Celts believed that the white stag was an agent from the ‘Other world’ and a bringer of great changes to those it encountered. The white stag often appeared when some sacred law was being broken. This painting, “Perseverance”, speaks to the mighty spirit and pure heart of the Forest. This life-force can never be captured, tamed, or killed. Though humanity may have tainted the wild, cutting down the trees and dumping refuse on the sacred earth, life will always prevail, and the balance will be restored. The White Hart beckons us forward on our journey of awakening and awareness, assuring us that change is immanent.

There’s honestly not many lakes more beautiful than Oeschinensee, which with its turquoise colors is a true gem of the Swiss Alps. This time I got to visit in October and experience the lake and its surrounding cliffs be lit up by beautiful autumn sunshine before descending into blue tones of the evening.
