Today, our #WomanCrushWednesday is the amazing 13 year old Ashima Shiraishi, who is believed to be the youngest person - male or female - to climb at one of the highest levels of difficulty in vertical rock climbing at Open Your Mind Direct. (Which, by the way, has been climbed by only a handful of the top men in rock climbing - how killer is that!) 

Rock climbing is something that takes some serious strength, endurance, technique and problem solving - which Ashima has in spades, from her gymnastics and bouldering experience. What’s awesome about her, is she’s been doing this for literally more than half her life - and she’s still going strong, taking aim at more world records she can smash.We LOVE what Ashima said - “It’s not just the guys who are pushing the limits now.” -- you got that right! 

We can’t wait to see what she conquers next! But for now, after basically destroying a world record, she’s heading on back to school in NYC. We love a girl who’s got great priorities!

Caine Monroy is our #ManCrushMonday. This guy spent his summer holidays building a cardboard arcade inside his dad’s car shop, making games and tokens with his own two hands, left over cardboard boxes and alot of brainpower and duct tape. 

He then wound up inspiring an international movement called the Global Cardboard Challenge that encourages kids around the world to create something amazing out of cardboard, and also inspired the Imagination foundation to support creative young people! WHAT!?!?! 

This reminds us that there is a world of possibility we can explore with our own imagination – and there are no excuses, Cain is definitely MCM worthy! If you really want to create something, there is always a pathway within your reach. What cool things have you made at home with your own imagination and problem solving skills?

Our Woman Crush today is one absolute star of a human being. We are huge fans of Malala Yousafzai, a 17 year old Pakistani activist fighting for female education, peace, and is the youngest ever Nobel Prize winner.

If that wasn't enough to knock your socks off , let's break down her life a little for you!

At 11, she started blogging for the BBC detailing her life under the Taliban occupation, and began speaking about education rights, fighting against the decree that girls would be banned from schools.

At 14, she was first nominated for the International Children's Peace Prize (first Pakistani girl ever to be nominated!) and went on to be awarded Pakistan's first National Youth Peace Prize 2 months later.

At 15, an assassination attempt was made on her life - she was shot in the face and survived. Instead of letting that get her down, her voice and reach only grew louder.

On her 16th birthday, she was invited to speak at the UN - dubbed "Malala Day", taking over the UN with other youth advocates.

And at 17, she became the youngest person ever, and first Pakistani person to win the Nobel Peace Prize.

She has released a book, I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and was Shot by the Taliban, has begun the Malala Fund to raise money to fund and support education for ALL girls, and continues to speak out and fight for the right for girls across the world to education.

Phew - it's amazing and tiring just looking at all the great things she's achieved in such a short time. What an incredible inspiration! Stand up for what you believe in and remember the strength you hold - you can make a difference in making the world the place you think it should be :)

We're a little greedy today! We've got not one, but THREE girls - Belissa Escobedo, Rhiannon McGavin and Zariya Allen - for our #WomanCrushWednesday.

These awesome girls, all the age of 15 to 16 have tapped into the power of spoken word poetry by speaking up and out about struggles that we face as young girls and boys in education and in life. They give us this killer, passionate delivery about the issues they feel strongly about - and look how powerful they are doing it! We are totally crushing on these girls because they remind us to stand up for what we believe in, and to follow our passions - let the world hear your voices!
