The roof inside 'Casa Battlo', another of Gaudi's creations that I fell in love with in Barcelona. I'm quite pleased with the photo, especially since I have a billion photos left to sort and post and I didn't have to do any editing.

Home safe.
The flight was long, about nine hours, but I spent all of it writing in my journal or watching movies so it wasn't bad. Though I was a bit worried when I walked into the waiting area and none of my family was there. It's a damn good thing I spotted dad and Brett walking back from Timmy's or I would have been sitting there a long time.
Also, a home cooked meal by my mom after five months was awesome. I've eaten some incredible food while I was gone (especially in Barcelona, holy crap) but her's is still the best in the way that not only is it tasty, but incredibly familiar. And there was goat cheese and wine, two things I've come to love in the past couple weeks. Delicious.
Waking up in your own bed after that long away is still the strangest experience ever to me. Though waking up to my cuddly, purry cat was a pleasant surprise.
It's good to be home.
Last night in London
Really sad to be leaving here, especially right before the Queen's Jubilee, that would have been a party. We're going to go hang out with some of Oscar's friends near Fullum. Just checked my flight information and set the alarm and am currently packing. It seems totally surreal that I should be leaving so soon, I really have enjoyed my time here.
HIGH HO, OFF TO PARTY.
That's right. That is a ticket to Shakespeare's Globe to see Hamlet in Lithuanian.
I win.
Boo.
So the Dali Universe is no longer located in London. And the lady didn't know where it is now. And I missed out on that. So blah.
On the plus side, I have tickets to see Hamlet at Shakespeare's Globe tomorrow in Lithuanian. I think that'll be lots of fun. I also went back to Tate Modern to take photos of the Dali's I did see there are really liked. There was much wandering and getting lost throughout this all seeing as Oscar was doing his thing today. Have I mentioned that it is a billion times easier to find your way after getting lost when you actually speak the native language fluently???
Only a day and a half left here, and I am sad for it. I've really come to love it here and have made some neat friends.
Still alive and well, going to the Dali museum tomorrow, and hopefully to the Globe to see a play if the tix aren't sold out yet!
It also rained today for the first time since I've been in London. Considering I was expecting constant downpour, it was actually kind of nice.
Also, British Uni kids are apparently charming and know how to have a good time. We went clubbing the other night and it was tons of fun. Lots of salsa dancing, chatting and wandering around. Everyone was really sweet but they wouldn't let me pay for anything.
Sitting in London with far too many postcards to be healthy and lots to explore. Mom and I are going to see Big Ben today, to take a photo in front of it like her and her dad both had taken. Also headed to see Tate Modern Gallery which is about five minutes walk and free. All the museums here are mostly free, which is amazing. We're also going to Harrods, and Somerset house where there is another small art gallery. I'm just blown away by some of the stuff here. The fact you can go see a play with people you've actually heard of acting in it. And, in my case, see paintings you hear about and read about and study. And all of a sudden I'm looking at my first Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Michelangelo, Da Vinci and Monet. It's incredible.
Another week in this wonderful city, and then I'm home again (this time to stay. Probably)
The National- England
London Tomorrow!
Very excited for more adventures (in somewhere that speaks English no less, though I´ve done okay here) in another city.
Not inpressed about having to get up at 3AM to go there though... oh well!
Barcelona is amazing and I cannot believe I´ll be leaving in such a short time. I´ve seen both the Casa Battlo and Sagrada Familia by Gaudi, Picasso Museum, las ramblas, markets and beautiful streets and plazas whose names I´ll probably never know. The food is wonderful, the people are friendly, and it´s going to be hard to go. I hope everyone back home is great, I miss you guys
I had never heard of Gaudi before I came to Barcelona and now I´m a little bit in love.
Seeing the Sagrada Familia tomorrow and, with any luck, the Casa Batllo. Photos at some point, seeing as I´m stuck with an internet cafe computer at the moment (no wifi). But this man was an absolute genuis and some of sort of Dr. Seuss architect. From the tiny amount I saw today I was absolutely blown away and incredibly excited for tomorrow.
First real day in Barcelona and I am so incredibly exhausted.
I can't even blame it on jet lag seeing as I ended up going clubbing last night until almost five-thirty in the morning. Spain really does have amazing clubs, I was very impressed. I went with two American guys from the hostel, though I ended up ditching them to become friends with some Irish girls because both the guys ended up getting trashed and one was obnoxious and drunk as hell before we even got to the club.
Anyways, it was a great night, but between the eight hour time difference and the two and a half hours of sleep I am dying a little. It's times like this where I really, really wish I drank coffee. It was definitely worth it to go clubbing here though, I had a great time.
Sitting in my hostel in Barcelona, safe and sound.
Luckily I slept for almost all of both of my flights, and ready for more so with any luck I'll be somewhat reset by tomorrow. My plane to London was huge. I've never been on a plane that big, which was pretty neat. I sat next to an old man from Austria (but now Canadian) whose name was Konrad. For the first hour of the trip we chatted and he told me stories and it was pretty neat. I slept so much though that I missed both supper and breakfast, so I was pretty happy I had dinner with my dad before I left.
In London I ran into a girl who went to my elementary school, actually a girl in Brett's class named Lori and her friend Jessica. We ended up hanging out because they missed their connecting flight and we went to a cute restaurant named 'Giraffe'. They had fairly decent food, surly waitresses, and smoothies that came with plastic giraffes which was funny. They're off to Rome, but I had a lovely meal with them and I know I'll run into them in the neighborhood again.
The Barcelona airport went without a hitch. I went through customs quickly, grabbed my luggage, and then a bus to Plaza Catalunya. From there I could either grab two trains or a taxi, so I grabbed a taxi for 5,50 euros. I'm thinking about going on a walking tour to see Goudi's work tomorrow if it's on since I have until 5:30 to wander before I meet up with mom and Aunt Lynne.
Sweet dreams Barcelona.
Sitting in the Edmonton International Airport waiting to catch my flight to London!!!
And after only two and a half days in the country, I am off and away again!
NEW CHAPTER: GUADALAJARA GIRL GOES TO EUROPE.
Fifteen days in Barcelona and London. I am very, very excited.
Waking up in your own bed after 4 1/2 months of waking up in a different country is an incredibly strange experience.
I just keep wandering around the house. Everything is familiar, but it really just feels like some sort of strange dream. As though I had never left here. The last four months of my life don't feel real right now.
Back in Edmonton after an exhausting day of traveling.
It's incredibly weird. It's like nothing has changed at all in some ways. Though my room is cleaner and I swear the cats are fatter.
I think my brain is still in shock, though that could also be due to the shock of cold water instead of hot for my shower. Stupid late-night hot water not working.
